Aaron didn't quit these soon enough
1. Being someone he wasn't -- he acted and put on a front trying to be the person he thought other people wanted him to be. The truth is you're amazing just the way you are. Drop the act and things will immediately get better.
2. Feeling sorry for himself -- he felt like the victim after having 2 abusive step-fathers. He got over the anger after he sought counseling. Realize that people screw up from time to time, and we are collateral damage.
3. Drinking alcohol -- after blackouts, a DUI, and casual hook-ups, he realized he was self-medicating the hurt and pain. Every single aspect of his life got better when he quit.
4. Neglecting his skin -- he used to go to the tanning bed and tan without sunscreen. When the crow's feet started, he wished he could turn back time to his teens and start taking better care of his skin including washing 2xs a day and using a SPF 20 moisturizer. I think one thing to remember with quitting porn is that you have to create a new neuropathway in the brain. It's one thing to want to quit, it's another to really be able to do so. You have to re-route your mind. Imagine you're in a corn field and there in no path. So you walk through once to create a path. Next time you show up to that field you kinda have to think about it, "Is this the path I went down?", but it is and you go the same direction (Porn). Eventually you don't even think about it, because that's the path you've broken down. So now you want to stop going down that pathway, so you have to create a new pathway through the corn field and let the old path grow back the corn and disappear which takes time and discipline and also new healthy alternatives. Don't be discouraged, don't give up. Also you need to try figuring out why you're doing it too? Is it habit? Do you do it when you're lonely. I know far too many guys that set up a porn filter, but guess what guys. If you want it, you'll get it. The filter doesn't fix the problem, you've gotta renew the mind.
What's something else that you can begin to do today that will put your mind on a new path?

I used to deal with anxiety and other people expectations, and the worse of it all is that I knew what I was doing wrong but was too impulsive and scared to pull it off and really be myself and do the things I want instead of all this insecure bullshit we put ourselves in. It happens more from more regular use, but if you desensitised yourself from regular use, you're reinforcing that every time you use it casually. Think of it like tolerance to weed. If you're a stoner and you smoke every day your tolerance is gonna be mad high, but if you stop smoking it every day but do it occasionally, it's gonna be lower but you're still keeping that tolerance around a bit. I am cutting out porn entirely because I want to reset my brain. I'm not masturbating, watching porn or even wanting to have sex with a woman because I want to try to go back to normal as much as possible so that when I next get in a relationship, sex can be more pleasurable and exciting
