  • There appears to be no going back on the state of Missouri's plan to sell a historic building in downtown St. Louis and move hundreds of jobs.

    Wonder Why? And in my opinion that's a huge copout like instead of addressing the real issues just run 😮

    This is so sad. I'm sorry to see the Wainwright building being sold. I worked in the Attorney General's Office there in the 1980's. The building is beautiful and historic - although they did make a mess of the open floor plans by erecting walls where there shouldn't be any. I was able to go up into the highest floor (an open attic of sorts) when I worked there. The view was breathtaking from those little round windows. It was an experience. The state is leaving that building a poor rendition of what it had been.

    Ever since the governor of Missouri was prosecuted by the St. Louis Circuit attorney for allegedly taking a sexy picture of a former lover and hairdresser Katrina Sneed (who was also a cash paid witness) without any evidence in a political sham prosecution instead of prosecuting actual crimes as crime in the city increased exponentially, St. Louis became unacceptable as a place for state offices. St. Louis future is only uncivilized squalor. The state is wise to get out ASAP. Let the city crumble. No civilized person should give a S#!T about St. Louis.

    He did not say as the gov of the state Mo we need to work to solve the crime in stl. He solely believes it’s a stl problem.

      It's just so devastating and so sad that after all these years they would sell that beautiful historic building I read somewhere that they already have bids and Summer's high as 5 million dollars

      St. Louis wanted to control the St. Louis police didn't it? The St. Louis Circuit attorney chose to prosecute the governor of Missouri without evidence of him allegedly taking a sexy picture of his former lover and hairdresser Katrina Sneed (who was paid six figures cash for her cooperation). During the St. Louis Circuit attorneys show trial of the governor other law enforcement was neglected and crime increased dramatically. Why would the governor feel any obligation to do anything for the city that prosecuted his predacessor without any evidence except a paid witness/victim? Scandals like this made St. Louis uncivilized squalor the state should want out of like everybody else.

      @@user-hx6bi5rb4q this reply is so ignorant. It comes across as a high school drop. Not understanding the governor of a STATE constitutional responsibilities to ALL citizens of that state. Mine, my, thank God ignorance is not crime and only a human rights.

    What a horrible decision. This is how you lose your best employees. You force them to commute out to some miserable suburban office park when they used to work in a vibrant downtown office. Downtown is the most accessible location because it's in the middle and has the transit connections. May as well sell the state capitol building because it is valuable real estate. I mean what are they thinking?

    • @jimf710
      @jimf710 Před 6 dny

      You make a lot of assumptions. Maybe the suburban office park is less of a commute and much safer. Parking would likely be easier and free. Calling downtown vibrant is a head scratcher. Vibrant for who? Thugs? There's a reason they're leaving but my guess is you don't want to hear it. I left the city too and it was the easy and right decision. Zero chance I'm moving back and try and not patronize any city business until/if they get their act together.

      @mariusfacktor3597 Před 6 dny +1

      @@jimf710 The downtown is in the middle and the suburbs surround it. That's how just about every American city is situated. That makes downtown the most accessible to the the largest pool of workers. Moving it out of the center reduces your labor pool. That's just geometry. Downtown is vibrant because it's walkable and has many businesses and residents. A suburban office park is like a dead zone. It's a boring and lifeless environment. These aren't assumptions. That's just the way it is.

      Yeah, that's what it is... It's not that people are constantly being shot or robbed in the heart of downtown.... While the mayor is out there, claiming that violent crime is lower because they're not using the reporting system that the f.B I recognizes
