  • Catching criminals can be painstaking work for scientists who have to analyse and scrutinise every fingerprint, clothing fibre and blood splatter. But did you know that one of the biggest keys to solving crimes can be provided by nature itself? Over the past 25 years, forensic ecologist Professor Patricia Wiltshire has been able to catch killers by proving they were in a particular place at a particular time - just by looking at pollen inside their nose or spores on their shoes. She’s worked on some of the biggest cases, including the Soham murders and the abduction of Milly Dowler, and today she joins us to explain how nature provides the biggest clues of all.

Very weird woman. I have reverence for anyone that has dealt with crime/ murders. But she's sunny and creepy about it and seems to get off on it a bit.
'I picked her skull up off the ground.' I'm sure Millie's family enjoyed hearing that.

I agree. She's laughing while talking about people who died in these cases. My heart goes out to the victim's families and friends.
