That red one is gorgeous. Also, the one with air slit towards the front is real cool. Everytime I watch a BRZ/GT86 video, but mostly GT86 cuz Yota's rock, all i can think is how much sense it makes to get one. Then I remember I live in a New England state and while traction may not be a problem, ground clearance quickly becomes one. I know I will own this car one day. Hoping they up the displacement, whether it's n/a or forced induction, and I'll pick up a whatever gen (probably first) once they do that. Currently torn between the Solara 3.3 or WRX vs Legacy. Probably Legacy since I don't want to spend the money on premium gas. I don't miss those days. Then it becomes Solara vs Legacy.
If you're going to get a Solara, get a 3.0 and find one that's manual. You'll have way more fun then later on you can get a TRD supercharger and make some power.
I've worked on them a bit having owned two.
Logan Crypto They only made the four cylinder in manual. I've never seen/heard of a 3.0 manual. If you have any links that'd be great. Also, much as I love manuals, I feel like the 3.3 motor is better overall. Are there still official/legit TRD chargers around?

The 3.0 "1MZ-FE" came with a manual option factory. They're a little rare to find though and the TRD supercharger for them are even more rare to find. I'm in a group on Facebook that usually has one for sale every so often.
Rian Hassan and the 3.0 1MZ I'd say is one of the most reliable V6's Toyota has ever made. It made it on the top 10 engines one year on ward's I believe or something. They're great.

If you don't have a local highly twisty mountain road or track, you're going to find it getting walked on by v6 wrong wheel drive sedans frequently, and many can't stand that.

@@dayson8470 boost is good, but going by what I've seen in person and online, conservatively 20 brz's are meaninglessly riced on for every one that is purposefully upgraded for superior performance.
Right out of the gate the transmission and brakes would be things I would upgrade if I was to boost mine, and if I was going to bother I would have bought a 15 to 20 year old M class or 911 instead for the same money.

@@dayson8470 no sir, not at all, just my preferences for the reliability of stock or close to it as a mechanic. And certainly I cheer on good upgrades for those who have the interest, knowledge and funds.
The chassis is extremely capable of modifications and certainly deserves more hp and a lot more torque, but used where it excels, on mountain roads with no passing zones for endless twisty miles, you can walk on some muscle cars and keep up with some very fast bikes. That among other reasons is why I'm a big fan.
Shift up out of second at 50 and up out of 3rd at 75, and you can even get by with the stupid factory tune.
