I can't think of any other singers who so clearly become wrapped up in the words that they are singing.
I attended a Mary Fahl and band concert at Infinity Hall in Connecticut where they performed the Dark Side Of The Moon album reinterpretation, and it was nothing short of brilliant. Absolutely mesmerizing.
Is this the best version ever of this song ? Yes it is .

As a life long Floyd fan I have never liked cover versions of their music, but this is just simply fantastic, it left me with goose bumps all over.
Mary put her heart and soul into this performance. She has one of the best contralto voices in the world!
Not every voice and arrangement can get away with this Floyd classic...but darn if they don't nail it in an original way. Kudos!

Since discovering Mary Fahl (former lead singer of October Project), she has become one of my favorite voices. I have since bought just about everything she has put out there.
I, like most others of my generation and all the... generations after and still to come, will always hold Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" as one of the all time greats.
There have been two awesome remakes of this album, song for song, same order as the original, that stand out for me. The first was by The Flaming Lips, and the other by this lady here, Mary Fahl. It is so difficult for me to say which I like best but Mary has such a talent of expressing emotion! Though I have had her signed, personalized CD for quite some time now, I have just now watched this video.

I wasn't sure about this but listened with an open mind. Mary Fahl is brilliant and her performance here proves it. It actually gave me chills.

So glad you are still out there Mary. Not all of us fit into the mainstream niche. I don't think Pink Floyd would have even been heard in todays music world. Fortunately I saw Mary in Chicago in 2003 and despite the changing of the venue...Uggh! I made it to some bar where they rebooked her and got a barstool against the bar and the wall. Fifty feet away is this enchantress belting out her solo album and a few OP songs. I was fortunate to have some strength left to wait in line and kiss her hand and tell her what an absolute pleasure it was to hear her sing. I hope my book helped her pass the time on the road.To those of you in the area, (Northeast?) along the coast...see her LIVE. She is something special.

Saw this on PBS this evening. When I heard the first few notes I thought, "Sacrilege, someone besides a tribute band is covering PF. But after listening (and watching) my thought was more like, "Wow, this is as good or perhaps better is some ways." What a voice!
