There is a typo on one of the graphics: It's 50-200mm f/2.8 and NOT 50-500mm :)
I was about to say, wow that thing must be as big as a lorry!
typo 🤣
@@TheRealfubar there was a typo in the typo :)
Should be 50-800 2.8
A typo in rumor news is not a good idea 😉
50-200 would be awesome. 70-200 is too restrictive to be a solo lens. That extra wideness on a 50-200 would be very attractive.
I could care less about a whatever-200.... Give us a 300/400-600 with good IQ and price or a 600 prime
A 50-200mm might be interesting for coverage photography. If Sony puts out a ≥70mp FF that can go into a boosted 1.5x crop mode, that’s still at least 46mp at 300mm fov in camera raw.
If they go after the wildlife market, a 120mp would be interesting. That still gives 48mp for a 2.5x crop taking a 200mm to 500mm fov; more than today’s current Z8, R5 gens. Though curious how many FF lenses were designed for such a high resolution at 120mp
I would like something like a 200-500/4.0-5.6. I have the old SP 200-500/5.6 APO and it's a marvelous optic.
I would love a 200-800 for Safari. Patrick
Heh, if it was actually a 50-500/2.8 that would be wild.
I‘d like a aps-c lens like 13-160 or something in this range for everday carry around
Any news about the Sony 85mm F1.4 GMii? That is the lens I am awaiting and expected it announced by now.
Sme here. He has been talking for so many years.
Id hope its the big one. They recently released a 50-300 and have the 50-400; Id like to see them go longer then adding another 200-400
200-400 f4 but I need top AF and Sony doesn’t allow that for third party manufacturers.
Can we assume the big zoom is not the 28 300?
Super compact APSC 50-200mm 2.8 would be the dream
Hope to see the 25-50 f2 soon.
I would love to know more about the Hasselblad zoom lens.
They need a 16 to 35 2.8 power zoom that doesn't extend. Just like the Sony 16 to 35 F4 PZ but 2.8 and with the same sharpness IQ as the 35 to 150 2.8.
I’d trade low light capabilities for focal length any day and I’d pick up the 200-400mm in a heartbeat if it came at a realistic and reasonable price.
hope there are smaller ones too 🤗
tamron 20-40mm 2.8 ii or a 24-50mm would be great! The 20-40 I have has terrible image quality at 40mm
Probably 200-600mm. let's go!
No sense, or if it will be 1,450 grams lol.. Sony does TC and unlock 30 fps, if tamron would do the same, it's no profit.
No point. Sony already has own 200-600. And the price is fair. To be at least. And you get full fps. Why would tamron release a 200-600.
we need a wide zoom for video, better than 20-70 sony
A 50-500 f/2.8 lens is really hard to process!
Not to mention it'd be extra hard to carry it around :D
Yeah 200-800 5.6.. that's for me.. lol.
I don't believe in a 200-800 5.6! I hope I'm wrong.
200 to 800 for when I'm out on the safari 😊
hopefully its the 200-800mm they patented some time ago. Hopefully.
yep, the 200-800 sounds great, but honest it should be a Sony lens...that would be stellar
80-300mm f4
stabilized
50-500 f/2.8 would be huge, Oh, I see it should be 50-200. I don’t see the point since Tamron’s 17-50 is f/4. I don’t see the point of a 200-400 f/4.0 either, without a tele converter, unless it were very small and sharp for landscape. I would consider the 200-800 f/5.6 over the Sony 200-600 f/5.6-6.3, if it were as sharp and fast focusing as the Sony 200-600. The 200-600 is not that sharp and is f/9 at 840mm, with a 1.4 TC.
24-70mm?
Will we see any aps-c lenses ? 50-150mm f2.8 would be amazing
Andrea, when it comes to a new Sony lenses, you are going to talk next week, are you at least able to tell if that's something at the long end? 500-800 mm?
There is a lot of occasion for a new gear for me, as for sales time, or even used ones. For you it's just a week, when I need to hurry.. Give a sign.. 😓
Still waiting for that 20-200 f1.2 😅
Sure. Im waiting too. If they do. 20-200 f1.2. Then size is like typical 70-200. And weights 1.5kg. I’lll pay 15k for it. Sure..
Sony need to come out those long prime that is cheaper lighter and slower. Currently there is only 400 f2.8 and 600 f4. We also need lenses like Nikon Z PF lenses. Those 600 and 800 that dont cost 20 grand and not heavy like 3kg.
The 300 GM is perfect though.
I'd want 600 mm f5.6, or 500 mm f4.5, but if Sony does 800 mm f6.3 or even 7.1 to be lighter than Nikon, I take that.
@@pentagramyt417 the only way to get a Sony lightweight 600 f5.6 now is to buy 300mm n use X2 tele. .
Yea. Sony need more of those 400/500/600/800 PF primes like Nikon.
180-600 maybe? bc optics already exist in nikon z version
Yea but is there a market for it when Sony already has 200-600. That is not highly price. Decent optics and you get full fps benefit. Unless tamron can make it lighter/smaller/cheaper or “faster”?.. which is unlikely since the 180-600 Z isnt.
meh. 50-200 is "nice" but the 35-150 f2 to 2.8 is just the best everyday focal length for me.
I rarely feel like "oh i wish i had a 200mm"
I often instead say "oh i wish i could go just a little bit wider" maybe a 24 or 28 or even a 20 mm :D
20-150 would be insane
The 200-800 F5.6 would be AMAZING! but i already got myself a 200-600 sony. So no more big lenses for me :D
Just launch the Sony 85mm already!! lol
200-400 F4 is the most realistic and affordable $$$
Yes. I've never understood why we have so many 70-200 2.8 and then out at the 500 range it goes to 5.6. I have thought that a Tameron lens or a Sony black G along the lines of the old Nikon 200 to 400 F4 that was smaller and lighter with the new linear motors would be great.
f2.0 pls lol
is tamron actually "usable" meanwhile / on FF?
My experiences with 2 or 3 of their zoom lenses for APSC lead to ranking them B or more like C tier.
on a scale where
S-tier is like G-Master, Sigma Art & co
A-tier is like any Sigma
B-tier Viltrox & co
C-tier.. Tamron and everything else
They seem to not be able to impress me quality-wise...
has this changed, or does it simply depend on the distinctive lens or am I just picky 😅?
Try using some of their newer lenses like 28-75 F2.8 G2. It has been on par with Sony's 24-70 GM, Although the Sony is a bit wider. I've had a really good experience using the Tamron one, great autofocus, pretty compact and excellent image quality and sharpness. Plus it costs wayyy less than the Sony, which kinda made me buy it.
The 35-150 and the 50-400 are both great lenses.
