  • Just a small little project I did by taking the only gameplay footage of "Pac-Man VR" (1996) by Virtuality and replacing the low quality audio with the original, raw .WAV files of the game
    This also includes the music

Any chance you could upload these tracks separately?

It's been half a year, and this video still frustrates me.
How did you get these music files?
Why haven't the clean music files been released to the public?
Why did you feel the need to tease us with music that we can't have?

      @vandy_vt  Před 5 měsíci +4

I actually got in touch with the original producer of the song in hopes to see if they are able to release the song officially
I still have access to the files of the game, however I haven't gotten any updates yet, mainly my fault since the social media I used to get in contact I don't use very often
Still seeing what I'm able to do to get this out into the public, but all I'll say is there is a way for you to obtain the songs with some already dumped files! Depends on the version of the game that you have though, as some don't ship with music included

      I appreciate your quick response.
There is only one publicly archived version of the game that I know of, and it does not contain the music. Despite my searching, I don't know anything about this other version of the game other than a select few have it, including you.
What really confuses me is why PARTIALLY sharing the music in the form of this video appears to be okay, but not the entire tracks. Is there a fear of legal backlash from Bandai Namco or Virtuality (or what's left of Virtuality, anyway)? Did other people you have contact with only allow you to share the music to this extent? If so, why?
I apologize if I've come across as rude or annoying, I just have so many questions, and this mysterious entry into the Pac-Man franchise is a fascinating topic for me. There's always something about it that's just barely out of reach of the general public, whether it be the banging soundtrack or the ability to actually play it on anything except rare 90's VR tech.

Honestly there's no reason why I only uploaded the music partially other than it being a hobby project
I might attempt to put online an archive of the music tracks but I was hoping the original composer would do it officially, and honestly that is still something I hope will happen
However I'll see what I can do

@@vandy_vt How'd you get in touch with the original producer anyways, if i can ask? The wiki doesnt seem to credit any people for making this game. Or maybe i missed something else. But to be honest, i dont know if the original composer for this game would upload the music for something this long ago so it might be best that you do it. Also whered you get this other copy of pacman vr? Not sure if it would help emulation of this much by uploading it, but it would be cool having multiple versions of this if possible.

@@PKStarman Hi I've been researching this game for the past 5 hours and here are the answers to the questions you asked.
      1. The person behind the music is named Johnny Venables. He commented under the footage of PAC-MAN VR that was uploaded to CZcams 13 years ago. He left a comment under that video claiming that he made the music for this game.
      2. I believe the "copy" of PAC-MAN VR that the OP has was part of the Virtuosity sale of original assets and files. Essentially, the company Virtuality, who made PAC-MAN VR, at one point changed their name to Arcadian Virtual Reality. That company was then acquired by Virtuosity Tech. In the buyout, Virtuosity gained access to the ROMs of all of Virtuosity's games, which they sold to the public for a limited time.
As for your search for the music files, I've got nothing. I personally messaged Johnny a few hours ago and he hasn't responded yet. I'm gonna keep digging and come back here if I find the music myself.

Out of curiosity, where can I get the music files? I've always wanted to listen to the raw music files but the archive I found online doesn't seem to have the music.

I got the game archive from another person! Right now working with them to see if I'm able to put the build up online :)
