I would like to see a club open up with all of the iconic songs we could dress up and dance. And for just a while in time we could bring back that special time in history.
Friggen awesome!!!..I'm 52 and I WAS ONLY 18 when this came out 1984. Those were the days !! Funk at it's best!! Midnight Starr was known for their funky grooves.
I drove for one company and whenever I was at the main terminal there seemed to more women outside than when I'd first come in when I got to the fuel pumps. While fueling I'd have the music turned up and moving to it while I fueled. Between dancing, walking and a change of diet I went from 250 pounds to 210 and then down to 180 and am currently at 192 for the past year. No one thought I'd be able to do it considering the lifestyle of an over-the-road driver.
Back way back in the mid 80's when smartphones and social media didn't even exist. In fact socializing was done in person and it was a lot more fun and it was great. Those were great times that unfortunately will never come back and will stay only as good old memories.
@@helenakatic1690 Yes indeed. Today's generation is enslaved by their mobile devices. Families are divided even at the dinner table because everyone is sitting there with their hands and eyes on their smartphones. So sad but true. I guess today's technology and social media made more harm than good.
Soul train had some of the finest black women on the show. Likes flower all different colors or should I say shades. Sexy in those heels and you knew what you were doing when you dance.
Why does it always gotta be “black” women/men?? If you were strolling the comments under American bandstand or whatever and read the same message but “white” I would be called a racist?? Why is that?? You are correct though!! They were fine!! ;);) still are
@@JUSAGUYNKY Well how many white women did you see in the clip, DUMBASS. YT people always triggered when black people compliment one another. Insecure much.
Jesse Frost For the time period I think it’s a very appropriate statement considering that at the time you didn’t see a lot of black women on tv. Soul Train was notorious for being very particular about the dancers.
Thats funny because that one tall girl woth beige dress a begining couldnt dance n heels she shoukd have wore flats she danced like her feet was killing her. Ha! Ha!
This video brings back memories …. In Chicago, Soul Train came on ~ 11:00 am on Saturday. I remember completing all my Saturday morning chores, vacuuming, dusting, folding laundry Before watching Soul Train 🚊… 😊😊😊
Everyone was in shape(at least obesity was alot less common), black women actually wore their own hair, men actually dressed up rather fashionable, and the best part is the few selected to get on the Line each Saturday gave it their all, out of 100s of dancers that came alot couldn't get in, alot got inside but got no camera time, these select few got to spotlight what they'd been rehearsing all WEEK. Magnificent! My man with the robot moves and the leisure curl killed it for real for real.
I truly cannot stand people like you in videos like this. Instead of enjoying the damn video, annoying ass people like you come here and complain about shit that doesn't matter. Who gives a fuck if someone's hair is real or not?
You seriously think they'd show fat people on TV back then? They were dancers. None of them were going to be fat. Never mind the fact that a lot of people smoked themselves to death back then.
Cold song!!! N Cold dancin!! My dudes Robot Prince, Robert Bell-Boppers Deisel n Fanta-C Poppers "Unique Dominoes", Capt Crunch n Funly bunch-Lockers and Poppers n all the fly girls killin it!!!
I used to watch Soul Train every freaking day was on I love watching the dancers just a bunch of people's is having a good time I like the dancing I like the outfits I just loved it I wish they still had something like that on you know what wish they had a soul train reunions with original dancers that would be awesome
@kirk mitchell First, you "love my smile", then you start talkin shit. That pic is from 2006. I'm 51 now and LOOK about 10 years younger than that. STILL gorgeous with that same beautiful smile. You know nothing about this music. THAT'S what this discussion was about. Stop trolling and acting so thirsty.
Agreed..70s girls did dance alittle better cause they didn't wear high heels shoes like the 80s girls did..they wore platform shoes and probably flats as well.
In El Paso we used to do it at The Phoenix nightclub, The Cadillac Bar, Mustang Sally's, and Monopoly's. Before we were 21 it was Sarawak and the XO on Avenida Juarez across the border. Before all the violence, it was a blast. The sound systems there were second to none. Alot of El Paso would go, GIs included. We, for the most part got along with the Mexican people. Many people there worked in the twin plants (Maquilas). They were always ready to have fun at the end of the work week. Juarez was known for that. Big shout out to my town, El Paso Strong. God bless yall
This episode had to be taped the same day as the episode when they did the Soul Train Line to Gap Band’s “Beep-A Freak” because the dancers have the same clothes on.
Dancing was killed off by gang type hip hop songs and rap. You can't dance to that. Look up vid OPP. Everyone dressed like gang members and realy not dancing anymore.
After all these decades that song still makes me want to dance, love it!
Because it was real music.
The women back then🔥😍
Blessings to everyone who remember this time in life.
If I can go back right now and stay I would
💞💕
❣️
God bless ❣️💯
Christy Mearna thank you very much ❤️
the 80s had the best soul train lines!
💯💯💯💯💯💯💯❣️
The 70s were extraordinary too.
Peace!
70s even more!
Also some breakdance thrown in there
I enjoyed the 80s

Operator! This is an emergency!!: PLEASE bring back the 80sssss...I miss the 80s!!!!
Me too bro, me too...we had it good back then. But i wouldn't wanna bring the 1980's back in the world of today. But it lives on in my memories!

I was 14 and by far one of the best years!! The music was great and most ppl had respect for themselves and others.
Great way to stay in shape and have fun at the same time. 💃

Ain't that the truth 😫
Agreeing with this.
Telephone was surely very much secondary.
Your comment is so true and so great😀😀😀👍👍👍👍👍

yesss i love that women she so attractive to me i wish i could met a woman like her today :)
She looked like she was philipino n black ohhh yes!
The women in the 70's danced better than the women in the 80's. They weren't trying to look cute and still looked cute.

I am sure the the talent scout pick them carefully.😂😏
I liked it better when it was male & female dancers coming down the Soul Train Line instead if the single person May 30,2020
They played aome of the Best Songs on Soul Train, it wasn't just the dancing that was good:)
Badass era it makes todays seem so sad nver fun like that
The ladies are limited in their movements because of the high heels, so they all do the same move! I say take off the heels and get on down!!!
Jaylaann Rose agreed!!

Gordon Shumway
Okay that’s great but fuck y’all!! I’m going to get my groove on!! Lol
@Gordon Shumway Maybe so, but the men for sure didn't tell 'em to wear it, and for sure they would obey men haha
This was the 80s. We all wore heels!
Nothing but a busy signal all day every day for homegirls 1:20 and 2:10 wow!
The guy at 1:08 used to always dance with Charles Washington. Great dancer by himself though.
I got so hyped when the guy at 0:14 started dancing on the beat
