Monkey is the main character and he is prickish. As the story progresses he learns humility and selflessness, but he's still impulsive and irreverent. It's an adaptation of the Buddhist story "Journey to the West" (as is DBZ).
Ok, I get the idea that Sun is in the wrong. But everytime I look up a version of this story, it's the gods who pushed him. They deserved getting wrecked.
Hold on, I say this years ago. And if memory serves me right didn't the people attack him and his people on that mountain first? I don't understand why they make the monkey look bad when it was there fault in the first place. Sure the monkey is a dick, but I be a dick to if there was people attacking my kind for no reason. Or did I miss something in my memory? I only saw it when I was like 5 or 7 maybe.
He was a dick but the celestial gods and humans were probably worse I mean the humans burned down a forest and the gods didn't do shit...only when it's kongo learning about magic does it upset the heavens
@devild1986 No, Kong is a gorilla. I've never heard any Chinese adaption called "Kong" also, most spellings are Sun Wukong. It should also be noted that In China, your surname comes first, in case anyone didn't know that.

The humans attacked his home multiple times and he retaliated against them, and then lesser gods went and interfered on behalf of the aggressors and in turn deceived him. Honestly he is in the right here.

I'm curious why did they changed the names especially calling the Buddha the guardian because Buddha is actually a title not a name
