    had a 02 GTp Coupe, same sort of interior as that one on screen. sort of wish I had it now and again. loved that 3.8 Stupercharged.

    It’s probably worth fixing. Interior is nice and fixing the trim, it would look respectable. Parts such as an engine should be pretty easy to find as since so many were made. Here in the salt belt, these cars are drying up.

    If it's not rusted out underneath you got a perfect money maker. Fix the hardlines and do whatever it ask of you then create a perfect 3.8 dialy driver.

    at least the taillights will not be holding water lol, I have a 99 GTP but it is in relatively good shape, only thing wrong with mine is the doors, as it is a coupe and it needs new bushings, everything in mine is very good, I do not drive it much in fact only maybe 2 days in the past year, I am 75 years old now and I do not like getting in and out of it. Other than the doors, yours will not be too much to repair as parts are not too expensive, maybe the plastic elbows on the intake are leaking Thanks for the video

    to remove the key you can open the little rubber cover in the console and jam some foam into the hole to hold the switch down, the key will be able to come out, there is another one under the steering wheel you can push in to remove key, I think that is the one you used, I find the one in console is easier, good luck with your repairs

    I have a '99 GTP coupe . The predecessor to it was a '98 GTP coupe that turned out to be so badly rotted (mostly underneath) it wasn't worth fixing. I used the '98 GTP's low mileage (79K orig. miles) to reside in the '99 model I bought that had a blown up engine. And no, many years later, this project still isn't close to being done 🙁Make sure to check in back of ALL the body cladding panels and get under it for a real good look. If lots of body ROT, don't waste your time on it.

    Hey, I need an opinion. I just bought a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix GT coupe. Everything from the mechanical and interior is beautiful and works perfectly. The only issue is that the rockers are completely gone and the front portion on the frame may be rotted. Should I get it restored or should I scrap it?

    • @GrumpyMonkeyGarage
      @GrumpyMonkeyGarage  Před rokem

      Without seeing it, it's hard to say, I'd find a shop you trust, and get their opinion on it, maybe several opinions. Rockers aren't a big deal, the frame is the big unknown. Good luck with it!

    I drive an 01 Grand Am and I've just ignored how bad a shape it's in because it still drives. Finally replacing it this month after 10 years.

    I'd say fix it. Value will only increase because they don't make those any more. No hurry, but probably worth the trouble.

    Really gonna need to watch you replace the lower trim panels. I'm getting ready to tackle rust damage under mine, an 02' 40th Anniversary Edition GTP, and I don't wanna break them when I do it. I've owned three of these cars, still own two, and 10/10 don't understand why Pontiac was allowed to die and Buick was saved. All 05' LeSabre's should be sent to the crusher, not only to be smashed, but turned into cubes for that little extra f*ck you.
