  • Shi Weize (释惟则), also known as Tianru Weize (天如惟则) or Tan Weize (谭惟则), was an influential monk from Jiangxi Province in the Yuan Dynasty (13th/14th century). He advocated the dual practice of Chan/Zen and Pure Land Buddhism. He was the first owner of Suzhou's famous Lion's Grove (狮子林), a renowned poet, and the author of works such as Lion's Grove Record (师子林别录), Tian Ru Collection (天如集), and Abstracts of the High Priests (高僧摘要).
