This is the greatest blockbuster movie at the start of the 2000 in south India. It still remains one of the greatest movie in south India. Neelambari is definitely in the top 10 best antagonist of Indian cinema.

Omg! This movie is so nostalgic for us Tamil 90s kids. I watched this first day first show...I was only in the 6th grade but was already obsessed with Rajinikanth.
Same.. never knew that a theater crowd would go that wild for a film...was watching Tarzan and cartoons prior...first time witnessed the whistles and shouting...was overwhelmed and instantly became a fanatic of Superstar

Fun fact: This film had a total duration of 6 Hrs! After the shoot, the director and Rajnikanth showed the movie to Kamal Hassan, and he suggested to cut a few scenes which didn't impact the film much, and then later the film we watch is 3hrs long!
Yes they have edited most of the part between soundarya and Rajinikanth and focused more on commercial elements than love story. Soundaya being superstar at that time, she didn't make any fuss about it though her role was trimmed to the maximum. Anyway she was highest paid for this film 😅

YES. This is one of Rajinikanth's best films in his career and it had the best villain too parring with Anthony from Baasha. That's the next film you guys should watch after this. In my opinion, that's the greatest film Rajinikanth has ever done in his career. A must watch.

And during this movie she was entire south india's highest paid actress, and when ramya placed leg on her face i remember how whole andhra pradesh and her fans were angry and talking about it. Such was her popularity back then. Gosh we miss her badly. Unfortunately we lost India's finest actress 💔

From what I've heard, Ramya Krishnan's character is known as one of the most formidable antagonists in Rajni's movies.
The 'uncle' from Baahubali (Nasser) has been a staple antagonist through most of the 90s and 00s for Rajnikanth, Kamalhassan, and many others in various Indian languages. He is also known as a director and producer.
Oh, and BTW, if you ever get a chance to watch Rajni's 'Muthu', I'd strongly suggest you do so.
