Honestly, this is in no way excusing James of his behavior at all. He's wrong, period. But a part of me feels like James is emotionally/romantically stunted. In general young people makes mistakes when it comes to love. it just comes with growing up. But maybe because James never got to experience "dating" when the rest of his peers did, it's stunted him and or created some really unhealthy views toward relationships. Mix that with people never clocking you and telling you this behavior needs to stop and you get the situation James is in now.
