- I spent quite a bit of time trying to get the core 3 port fuel pump I had apart and failed miserably. I should have taken it to a machine shop to get the small screws out. I ruined the core so am in the market for another 3 port pump if any one has one! Next attempt will involve a machine shop for sure. Repaired the power antenna. Adjusted the choke on the carburetor. Took care of fuel pressure buildup problem in gas tank. And took it on several small trips today. Love driving this beast! Getting some positive comments from onlookers.

have owned and rebuilt many of these ole slab side beauties and have been through soooo many of these same issues over the years. Enjoying the channel for sure and thank you for sharing!!
Thanks. I appreciate it! Feel free to chime in if you see me doing something stupid! Or you have a recommendation. I am always appreciative of learning from others' experiences.
Ha ha! I did hear the horn. Thanks sounds just like mine. Too bad about the fuel pump, i am sure you will figure something out. You always do!
Glad you heard the horns. Yeah I’ll figure something out with the fuel pump. I just have to find another good core to work with. I’ll be a little more careful next time.
Aww man, that is too bad about the fuel pump. I know that is disappointing.
Yeah a little. I just feel bad because these are so rare.
Bummer on the pump. Its a challenge to drill hard metal next to a soft metal. You'll be going to an electric pump when you put the A/C back on. Nice work as always!
Yeah, this was a tough lesson. I think if I had taken the time to set up my drill press and been more patient, I might have avoided this. Electric fuel pump - I don't think so! lol. Next you'll tell me I need to go EFI - although that is something I might actually consider someday...
Wow what a shame on the fuel pump. I never had one that badly corroded. It might be salvageable if a shop can flatten that area in order to put a small flat washer at the torn location.
I am saving it. Perhaps it might still be usable. I'm hoping to find another core though.
