He was the ultimate showman, but he kept his private life away from the prying eyes of the media; a larger than life rock star who loved disco, classical music and ballet. He was a restless spirit, a true chameleon who revelled in his own contradictions.

I always cry a few tears when I watch anything about Freddie Mercury these days. Very few musicians can reach so deep inside your soul like he could. A very special person indeed and hugely missed....

The first time I heard the song Barcelona, I was driving in my car and it was snowing. I had just gotten a bunch of Freddie solo stuff and it was in among the songs a friend had given me. I heard it and knew that it was something special. Absolutely special. It has remained one of my favorite songs that Freddie sang to this day and can't help but think of it anytime anyone mentions Spain or the city itself.
One of my greatest regrets is not listening to Queen before Freddie died. Granted, I was only 11 at the time, but I started to get into them with the reissue of Bohemian Rhapsody for Wayne's World. Now they're my favorite band and if I could travel back in time to see any show, it would certainly be the 86 Wembley show. All I can do now is look back on the magnificence that was Freddie Mercury and continue to enjoy his work for the rest of my life.
I saw Freddie and Queen in concert and it was an epic, mind blowing experience. He had great talent and an unforgettable voice.

Happy to see Roger beside Freddie in this conversation. And Freddie did immortalise the participation of Deaky and Roger's son Rufus in making his dream come to never ending life, beautifully. I love it.

I still prefer the original album, not the 2012 version. How Can I Go On especially suffers from the real drums replacing the original drum machine.
