đ·đș Not long ago the town of Karabash was declared Russia's most toxic town due got the heavy pollutants that a mining plant was pumping into the air over the region.
And so with my friend Roman from the popular CZcams channel NFKRZ we decided to visit the town and see for ourselves just how life was progressing there.

It's not even as polluted as it had been before. I visited that town about 10 years ago and saw bright yellow rivers, green soil and so on. Nice that the nature is doing better these days. Btw, there is a nice lake around, called ĐŁĐČОлŃĐŽŃ. Pure water, golden sand and a wonderful forest.
The only town visited by B&B with a working Eternal Flame Monument. Thatâs got to be a plusâŠ.đ
Latrobe,Pennsylvania-1983âŠâŠâŠ4 out of 5 downtown buildings were boarded up. The river flowing through the city was BRIGHT ORANGE!!! I heard/read that improvement has been made BUT who knows?

I visited Karabash several times when I worked on an American project, living near Chelyabinsk for five years. A frightful site. Enjoyed the video and the wonderful memories of the area.
I just discovered your channel. I am goinig through some tough times and your upbeat attitude towards everyone in the most remote places (from my perspective) just fills me with... I don't know...joy!
The concentration of arsenic is 279 times the permitted level; for copper itâs 368 times and 300 times for lead, while the concentration of copper in the water is 600 times the permitted level. Other than that, it's pretty clean.
Unlike all towns in the west, USSR towns are pretty neat. I live in nigh communist hellhole Sweden and I must say Karabash looks kind of pretty in my eyes. There's nothing unusual about it, except for the amount of Vodka.
Abandoned buildings I find pretty normal, nice old people normal, only difference is we got better water and air, but also less vodka, so I don't know what's better, really.

It's a well known fact that the more polluted and non-suited it is for human life the better it is for grass. There's a lot of abandoned factories in my town, and the grass around them is super green, the whole place is grey and dull, but man the grass is almost neon green.

Great video! As a 50 year old from the USA this is very interesting. For those of us who where children of the cold war, these soviet videos are captivating. The childhood fears of nuclear fallout and being killed by the Russian missiles creates curiosity of the place.
That one episode was a hard watch. It's a place in the world, and citizens live their daily lives there. The one we saw on camera seemed like very nice people who considered this land their home. But it's so sad to see the devastation on the landscape and the environment. Plus the feeling that everyone else just up and left, leaving entire buildings to rot. It's so striking and depressing
