I love it when someone covers a song with originality instead of just copying it. It is like hearing Led Zeppelin in an alternate universe fronted by a magic mushroom.
Just read a Daily Mail article where lead singer of Goldbug, Sandra McKenzie is now broke and homeless...Sending good vibes along her way, I really hope she can get her life back together!!
This homage to a legendary track is insane! Raw passionate vocals and a kicking bass line. Synths that come out of nowhere and a great beat. I am truly in my happy place right now.
i purchased this CD in the 1990s and love it. I still have it, still crank it up loud. This morning i finally watched the music video for the "single" version that i never even knew existed. Sweet. The single version is "b-side", and theres another track on it too. I made contact with Peter Moore about this a few years later (same name as me) and we discussed the track. It was nice to chat with him via email about it.
Just quite possibly my all-time favourite one hit wonder. Mashing up the Pearl and Dean theme with the iconic Led Zeppelin rock classic, and featuring the powerful Janis Joplin-esque tones of Sandra McKenzie (God bless her!), Goldbug really had their one hit and made it shine! Hell yeah!
Goldbug did to this song what zepplin did to every song they played. Covered someone else and made it brilliant, even if the original is legit one of my favourite songs ever
I'm the singer on this hated the artwork made me look awful wired up with a file of blood coming outta my neck was cursed by it I think something weird was going on even back then
They use an instrumental of the Led Zeppelin version for that, as for this, try typing the name of the song and instrumental after it on here or google
I was the singer on this they kept tje artwork secret from me I was appalled when I finally saw it in HMV grotesque caricature of my face all wired up head plugged in I did wonder of someone was cursing me with the artwork tjetes ceyric weird writing that can barely be read wired up with blood coming outta my neck loathed the artwork weird did not like it what does anybody else think a bit creepy
They should play this in cinemas before every movie. This mashup was always a massive favourite for me :)

I bought the CD single back in the day after hearing that galloping riff. Still sounds amazing after all these years.
Ahhhhhhh my student days when i played this non-stop. Great version. Love it.
My student days too early 2000’s.
THIS is what I was looking for
this isn't a cover, it's a brilliant song based on stuff that happened in the past

Hi Sandra. The artwork is pretty awful, looks like some kid's GCSE coursework in collage. A D grade at best.
@@meritpoint I got an F for a cool half eaten Apple sketch.

Anybody know if there's a version of this without the lyrics, like they used to use on Top of the Pops?

HappyJack thanks for this - have you got the other mixes on this single?
Believe it or not the singer hasn't got any royalties at all
Covers usually suck, but this one is great, a classic on its own.
