On the one hand, seeing a glimpse of the outside in the final moments of the level is much more satisfying than the original abrupt ending. On the other hand, it contradicts the Atlantis levels from Unfinished Business, which pick up where Great Pyramid left off.
I think they built the outside area because of the draw distance? In the original, you couldn’t see that far down the tunnel-it’s pitch black, but with the updated graphics on you can see the end. However, the slide is supposed to lead into the stronghold/hive as seen in TR1 Gold, not the outside, so it’s a continuity error 😅
About sums it up. Like where's the hole by the huge sphinx shining bright light down to the two underwater statues? Or where's the hole on the roof by the new big chandeiler in opera house? How can there be light coming from above in spiral staircases??
I wonder why this was added ? We arent suppoused to see this anyways, and the ending triggers as soon as Lara reaches a certain point in the slide so we never get to see this part of the map. A bit unnecesary in my opinion.

@@runarvollan I love how they did the lighting, it has a glass roof, you can see that when you deal with those men on the outside.
Maybe they build this to recreate lara's escape from the atlantis?
