- Here's how to quickly copy games and apps from one Xbox One console to another. This works for Xbox One, Xbox One S, Xbox One X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X. Each console must be connected to the same network or WiFi. Your game data will automatically sync when you sign in with your Gamertag.
** This is NOT how you get free Xbox games. You need to use an account with these games in the purchase history to play these games - or insert the disc.

UPDATE: For the hundredth time, honestly this is the most asked question and I answer it every time in the comments. Save game data is tied to your gamertag. All you have to do is sign in and play, your save data will sync.
I managed to transfer 700GB+ of games with the Network Transfer feature overnight. It appears this feature also utilizes the "instant on" power setting and will continue to transfer if both consoles are "turned off" - granted it moved faster when both consoles are powered on.
This way I kept the games I have on my external and just transferred games on the internal hard drive.

Hey I have a question, so my brother has cod ww2 and I wanted it, so I network transferred it. Whenever I go to play it on my Xbox it says your preorder must’ve been canceled or refunded. Which it was a while back but why would that have anything to do with a network transfer. I even signed out and tried to play it but it gives me the do u own this game or app thing. So my question is, Do I have to own the game or app that I am network transferring to be able to play it?
You just need to sign in on the console with the account that owns the game.

Yeah this is gonna be super helpful. You know the Microsoft network transfers will be slow because everyone will be downloading games. But this will not use Microsofts network. So you will be able to transfer quicker 👌

What if lots of my games are on an external HDD? Can I just plug the external into the X and play those games? If it's formatted for the S already do I need to reformat it if I do a network transfer?

I downloaded The orange box on Xbox Series S that I used to have on my Xbox 360 and on the Xbox app it says that I had 19 achievements and I downloaded it and my stuff is not there, it’s all reset but the app still says that I have the achievements still.

I have a lot of my games stored on a external drive the games add up to about 2 terabytes. when I transfer over my games do I have my external drive plugged into the xbox one x or the old console ??
This might have been answered but do you have to have both xboxs on when transfering or can u turn one of once youve turned on data transfer on both consoles
One thing I found, if you have the games on disc put the disc in the unit you are transferring to while it installs, using both it cut the installation time tremendously.

You might have to check your settings. I don't personally game share, but I know it relies on one Xbox being designated as the home console.

I believe so...I was going to try to just re-download all my digital games bc the store should say you own them but I just went ahead and did the transfer to be on the safe side.
