"I don't want to hurt your feelings" *says something life changing*
Chuck was such an ass...At the end of the day Jimmy was his brother who loved him so much but he never cared about Jimmy
Is he an asshole for telling his truths to the face without any filter to someone who obviously always tries to cover his actions with his good boy face? especially when whenever he made a mistake, it got away with it and no one was able to confront him directly?
@@mateoalarcon6670 Was it worth it? Turning the only guy who cared for you into your enemy? Jimmy was no saint but he passed the bar and even Howard was ready to give him a job at HHM...But Chuck's ego had to ruin it all
@@buzzkill36 In my opinion it did work, since years later before a court (where he should have gone years ago) he admitted the reality that Chuck told him and that he never wanted to admit before. Chuck and Jimmy were never going to get along even if he joined HHM due to the nature of both of them, Jimmy at some point would have tried to do his tricks under the pretext of "getting good for the firm" or "making HHM a company successful" simply to be able to do things his own way without considering others and to try to avoid blame (which he did in Davis and Maine and throughout the rest of the show), Chuck was obviously not going to like this and In the same way, he would try to sabotage him so that they would remove him and not stain the reputation of the firm, besides, Jimmy never loved his brother as much as people always proclaim, if it had been so, he would not have moved away from him for so many years to be able to continue being " cool slippin jimmy" and only turn to chuck when he needed chuck to save him from going to prison (which he should never have done in the first place) or better yet, just ruin his professional career and reputation he had (which is why Chuck had the strength to stay alive) making him look like a crazy paranoid not only in front of his ex-wife (who was reconsidering getting back in touch with him), but taking him and his closest associate practice and indirectly towards the grave simply by throwing a tantrum and by lightly touching his ego with something (which deep down) he knows to be true. At the end of the day, all Jimmy wanted from his brother was his brother's approval and for him to admit that he was a straight, good, new person, which Jimmy/Saul never was. Because much is said about the excessive ego of Walter White, but nobody talks about the harmful ego of James Morgan McGill and the scope that this can have.
But he was right
and yet, chuck predicted everything like he had watched breaking bad himself. saul did ultimately end up hurting everyone around him, Kim included.
"I don't want to hurt your feelings", *proceeds to hurt his feelings*

You're just not that important to me
Chuck was the only one keeping Jimmy from slipping back into Saul. He really did hold himself accountable trying to earn his older brother’s respect. At least until Chuck waged a proxy war against him.
I really think Chuck couldve been a good influence on Jimmy if he werent so petty. It eventually accelerated Jimmys descent lower than ever before. Creating Saul. Otherwise he wouldve just stayed Slippin Jimmy. Had Chuck actually supported his brothers attempt to be a lawyer, Jimmy wouldve made partner and been a great lawyer
Agreed
Seeing this, i dont really blame saul for hurting Chuck the way he did. He told his own little brother, the only family he had left, to his face that he didn't mean anything to him. And it's all because of Chuck's petty jealousy of Jimmy doing his job better than him.
jimmy was never a better lawyer, and that wasn't what Chuck was jealous for. He was jealous how charismatic Jimmy was
@Teuvo Talonpoika It wasn't that either. Chuck just couldn't stand to see that Jimmy was a lawyer and was almost just as clever/smart as him. Just in different ways.
@Noah Shepard that sounds more like a YOU problem for Chuck. In a nut shell, Chuck was just jealous and petty that Jimmy became a lawyer easier than he did. Jimmy always had a chrarismatic charm about him which is why he rose so high. Chuck couldnt stand it
@@Tywil714 Yes exactly. Chuck was a prick who thought he was the smartest man in the world
This is the moment Chuck became a campfire marshmallow
He hated so much slippin Jimmy and he ended up creating something far worse
Could never imagine if my brother said that nothing ever mattered and he never cared once.
this is the moment saul goodman became heisenburg
This conversation and the "You're not a real lawyer" scene really set Jimmy/Saul up for what was to come.
Chuck is honestly why he never got off the ground, Jimmy tried, but Chuck didn’t care, I feel like people don’t focus Jimmys efforts early on, especially in scenes like when he went into the library to learn and read. Yet he didn’t get anywhere cause Chuck wouldn’t let him. All because his mom said Jimmy when she died.
Chuck didn't mean this. At this point in the show, Chuck is angry with a lot of people. He let his emotions get the better of him and said this without giving it any time or thought. Kinda like before this when Jimmy told Chuck he hopes he dies alone in a hospital. After that, Jimmy still went to his house to check on him. Chuck even walked Jimmy home after his party, where they sang the winner takes it all. Not only that, he stayed at Jimmy's place to make sure he would be okay through the night. I think in the beginning, Chuck only wanted the best for Jimmy, but towards the end, his jealousy led to hate, which led him to spite everyone he knew.
That was a flashback 💀
No chuck meant it. Which is why he didn't even tell Saul that his mother's dying breath was his name
Him letting his emotions get the best of him is not an excuse. Of all people Jimmy was his brother, the only family he had left, and Chuck without remorse told him that he didn't mean anything to him. it sounded pretty heartfelt. I dont blame Jimmy for hurting. Chuck the way he did to the point of sucide. all Chuck ever did was look down on him and condemn him just because he found an easier way to become a lawyer and did his job better than him.
@thegermanbasket732 I know it was. I'm trying to say that it makes Chucks statement that he always mver mattered to him false. He may have never loved him like a brother but still cared for him at some point in his life.
@gas467 That was because he was mad at him at the moment. He was annoyed that Jimmy would rather go get hot dogs than sit with his dying mother. I'm also not trying to say Chuck wasn't flawed. He didn't tell Jimmy that his name was their mother's last words, not because he didn't care for Jimmy, because he was jealous that Jimmy always got the spotlight over him, even though Chuck was more successful. Again, Chuck was a bad person, and that led to Jimmy being a worse person. But he didn't always not care for Jimmy. In the last episode, Chuck wants to sit and talk to Jimmy about his clients. Jimmy declines. I think if Jimmy were to have sat down with Chuck and talked about his clients, and Jimmy started to learn from Chuck both their lives would have been much better. Again, they both were assholes to each other, but like a said, the scene after they sing winner takes it all is perfect for my argument. Chuck could have left Jimmy alone that night but decided to stay to make sure his brother was okay. He definitely always disagreed with his brother but didn't always hate him.
Gives me

Huge W from the lamp
Tbh I think chuck was saying this out of angry
He meant every word he said. He was jealous of Jimmy because of all the affection he received from their parents. His mother wanted to see Jimmy in her dying moments, not Chuck. Jimmy wasn't even informed that their mother asked for him before she died. He also went out of the way to keep him in the mail room and never appreciated Jimmy for all he did for him. Chuck was sick. Not just electromagnetic hypersensitivity, he also suffered from chronic jealousy.
Nah the quiet part slipped out. He was always jealous of Jimmy & lowkey hated him but here he let it be known

@@PabloTango tbh stands for "to be honest"
It wasn't the truth, he just wanted to hurt him and push him away. Hence the suicide
Growing up is at first, feeling like Chuck was such a jerk..and realizing that, ending notwithstanding I GUESS, he was right. Jimmy wasn’t playing it fast and loose because he couldn’t keep up. He chose to and always chose that options. That’s on him.
The nuance of this show man!
No. See Jimmy at 40 years old needed his brother to raise him and tell him he's the bestest boy around. He also needed Chuck to give him a job he didn't deserve and to help him on a career where he could hurt even more people even more seriously. Chuck is the worst and Jimmy is the best cuz he's the funny guy. Better Call Saul haha
@@Rjkooljay2The sarcasm in your reply 😂😂 Love it!
Couldn’t Jimmy spoken up saying: we CAN’T get along the same way when we were little kids!
Honestly - this describes us all in a way.
Only if you're a heartless A-hole.
“I don’t wanna hurt your feelings, but…” is what you say when you absolutely mean to hurt someone. Maybe not 10/10 but in scenarios like this, yes, you do mean to hurt them.
I think we’re all like Jimmy sometimes
Wrong.
No one ever loved Chuck as much as Jimmy did, no one
Too bad Chuck couldn't see that was the biggest truth among all the lies
Chuck was right too. Not even Kim was spared in the end. Jimmy really did end up hurting everyone around him.
to say “chuck was right” is to completely absolve him of the role he played in Jimmy’s downfall. Jimmy became who he did because of people like Chuck, the Kettleman’s, and Howard. people refused to see what Jimmy could be.
Chuck may have been right, but what is that worth. He should have supported his brother, and tried all he could for that prediction not to come true. he should not have even said it.
@@rianjohnson4823 that is very true Jimmy was like chucks self fulfilling prophecy. Because of Chucks fear that Jimmy would be a crooked lawyer is in large part why Jimmy became one.
@@rianjohnson4823 Yeah it's EVERYONE ELSE's fault and not the 40 year old criminal lawyer. You people are so shrew-brained.
@@rianjohnson4823ehh sort of but I like giving accountability to grown men🤷♂️you can blame all these people for Jimmy being the way he was, but at the end of the day Jimmy chose to be that way. I’m not blaming chuck or anyone else but so much for that. It’s not like Jimmy was say Duquan from the wire where his situation was so bad that he was almost forced into being the person he is. Naw jimmys up bringing was fine and chuck wasn’t to bad either. He chose how he is
As much as I disliked chuck in the show, he was right about EVERYTHING.
This is the moment Jimmy became Sad Goodman 😔😔😔
Just a casual conversation between two loving brothers where no feelings were hurt.
In Chuck's eyes Jimmy was a self fulfilling prophesy, he never saw him as he was. He really did like helping people, he just knew the law got in the way. Chuck is a man that could hold a childhood grudge and never let it go, Jimmy was so ready to play good guy if Chuck just showed him any love
If Chuck had just given Jimmy a chance at HHM, it's possible that most of the events of BCS and BB would not have happened.
Bro the show literally shows you that that wouldn't have worked out. Jimmy had a perfect job at Davis and Maine and what did he do? He almost sunk the firm into the ground before engaging in hijinks like not flushing the toilet just so they can fire him and that he could keep his bonus. This is a fantasy that so many people have about Jimmy and it's so tiring to read
I doubt it, Jimmy seems to have a compulsion to do shit to ruin his own life
Chuck says Jimmy dont matters much of him, but he do the same, because the jealous he have over Jimmy.
I wouldn't say this is the truth, this is Chuck trying to he as hurtful as he possibly can.
Chuck unleashed the Kraken on Slipin Jimmy,....Saul s born!
People blaming Chuck for Jimmy's actions. In the end, Chuck was right. He was always right.
If chuck was my brother his ass wouldve been grass as soon as he said “all you do is hurt people”
chuck was right about everything he said here except the idc about you part
As a big brother... I would NEVER said this to my little brother, even tho we arent the same, act and think different, i love him a lot, if something happened to him... I would lose a big part of me. Love my lil dude.
How could anyone say that to their brother😢
Thing is, he was lying the entirety of this conversation, "I don't want to hurt your feelings" he absolutely wanted to hurt his feelings.
"We don't have to understand each other" The darkest moments these two ever had, was when they didn't understand each other.
"Things are fine the way they are right now" he kills himself shortly after this speech.
"Truth is, you never mattered all that much to me" Jimmy mattered to him, and Chuck mattered to Jimmy. It's just that Chuck was envious of Jimmy, and Jimmy wanted to be like Chuck despite being the puzzle piece that just doesn't fit in.
This wasn’t the truth tho he loves jimmy he just wanted to hurt him…
In the end actions matter more than words. In this case the action were the words. The fact that Chuck even thought this was a good idea displayed a huge insight into what he would do to try and come out on top. Jimmy was not the only monster in that room.
“We don’t have to understand each other, so have some more chicken, have some more pie, it doesn’t matter if it’s boiled or fried.”
After this scene I was quite angry at people (in the show) that saying how Jimmy didn't cry after Chuck death
chuck’s point can be easily refuted. had he not cared about jimmy he wouldn’t have gone out of his way to try and ruin his career. chuck cared plenty for jimmy.
I'm sorry but there is literally no excusing ANYTHING that Jimmy did. Lots of us deal with Chuck's in our lives and don't immediately do the most illegal things possible. Chuck was mostly right about Jimmy's unsuitability for law (as Jimmy himself proves countless times) but he was wrong in letting his jealousy get the best of him. At the end of the day, though, Jimmy's faults are his own and he bears all the responsibility
“Tells him the truth” my ass. Chuck was one of the main reasons Jimmy was pushed and forced to become Saul Goodman…
A man can only take so much criticism and pressure before abandoning all of his conscience
Tampoco exageres, jimmy fuel el culpable de su propia miseria
I enjoyed the show more when Chuck was around ❤
I don't went to hurt your feeling , process to destroy feeling, 🥺🥺🥺
The theme is "breaking bad" and I think everyone experiences it, even the bestest person.
I think if that was my brother I'd just strike out on my own. What a POS.
People forget that Jimmy landed a solid gig at Clifford’s law firm. That entire arc was proof that Jimmy isn’t capable of living by the law because it’s in his nature to cut corners and do things behind upper management’s back.
Sure Chuck denied him HHM, but Clifford granted everything he wanted. Sooner or later Jimmy and Chuck would butt heads at HHM because Jimmy would crack and Chuck would be the first to know.
Chuck was right about Jimmy, but his personal vendetta against him only sped up the transformation for Saul.
Most people in real life would side with Chuck NOT JIMMY...
That is one of the most pure evil things in this show imo
I really think what Chuck said to Jimmy drove himself crazy for the rest of the episode until. 🏮🏠🔥
The fact that you can like someone like gus more than chuck
It’s just like talking to my sister, but at least this guy admits he doesn’t care about his brother.
Chuck lied here obviously , just wanted to hurt him. He cared about jimmy
This is when Jimmy became.....Slippinberg.

Chuck was a jerk sure. But he was right about Jimmy.
I wish the Punisher would come punish Chuck all over his living room

Saul badman
I am so glad when their mom died, she called Jimmy...
Chuck was right but he was the best person to actually help Jimmy and guide him towards an honest life.
I know there is a debate as to how much Chuck is responsible or the creation of Saul, but this year just kind of steals it for me. There’s no wiggle room or debate on whether or not Jimmy would’ve gone back to be in sleep in Jimmy, Chuck had a rational motives that made him sabotage his brothers growth. Both professionally and as a person. Unforgivable
If my bro says that then its my honest reaction
Wow. I missed that part. Jimmy who cam when noone else id
I always know this actor as the dodgy sales guy In short circuit 2 who helps fix Johnny 5
Chuck was not telling the truth. At least, not that last part. Everything else was something he believed yeah. But Chuck definitely did care for Jimmy
I hate chuck so much but isn't that the sign of a great performance from a very good actor
This isn't the truth now. You have to understand that at this point Chuck is a shell of his former self. He just said this to Jimmy because he wanted to push him away. He really did care about Jimmy. Yes i did do bad things to him, but at the end of the day Jimmy is his brother. And why would Chuck take care of Jimmy on so many occations if he didn't care?
Chuck wasn't telling the truth here he was angry and depressed and was cutting Jimmy off so he could commit suicide since he was the last person in his life
I’m pretty sure Chuck said that he doesn’t care about him so that his suicide isn’t taken too hard by Jimmy…
I doubt it, as a brother I’ve said some things like this in moment of anger, probably just that
If that was true, why did he bail him out of jail years ago? He could’ve let him rot in prison.
He should just have some more chicken or some more pie
Saying this Jimmy was the actual reason chuck died . He couldn’t live with himself.
I hated chuck saul did so much for him he never wanted his own brother to succeed and how do you turn your brother in glad his character died
