      I would disagree. Nature verse nurture shows that talent requires training rather than develops naturally, and this is evident with Beta, who being a clone of the same genetic material as Aloy lived a different life and developed into an entirely different individual from Aloy and Elisabet Sobeck. The developers of the game used the 'Nature' method to justify that Aloy is a homosexual (Though never having once shown any particular romantic or sexual interest in either sex), but the existence of Beta shows that this method is flawed, because if it was true, Beta would be a mirror image of the personality and character of Aloy; and we can see demonstrated though Aloy's continued frustrations at Beta that this is simply not the case. Regardless of whom one is born from, training and nurture are important to personal development.

      yeah same, usually i dont like open world with hundreds of "collectible" like logs, audio file, and whatnot.... but this game, i was genuily excited everytime i found one. The story is great but what really sold it for me was the cohesive narrative, everything was well-knitted together, like when you find the "recruitment" procedure for zero-dawn (coop, prison or death), or some soldier journal, filled with hope, when you already know their fate as canon fodder to serve only as a slow bump to the inevitable extinction.
      Even the "first" level ennemies, aka, the robots, are a design justified in the story. Gaia was taugh to feel, and her love for biological life made her design her terraforming robots based on nature's designs. And the later the fact they became hostile is explained because of the cold logic reasoning of Hephaestus, now free from Gaia oversigth, judged human hunting detrimental to its task (creating machine for terraforming). It has a first response of turning them hostile, then a second responsible of creating "protecting" machine defending the basic one, then another response of creating machine for the sole purpose of hunting/culling down human population.
      everything is so well tied together.

    Small point: Aloy inherited her mental capacities from her progenitor, but she has a large number of physical advantages in this game, too. Her DNA is only about 99.5% the same as Dr. Sobeck's. Since changing a human DNA by less than 2% could change a person into a chimpanzee, a circa-0.5% change is ENROMOUS. Gaia adjusted her to be like Batman, with many physical attributes maxed out to give Aloy superiority in as many ways as possible in her ordained job. This makes Aloy's abilities in this game more understandable, as she seems to be able to handle all sorts of physical abuses better than anybody else in the game. Things like this are what make this game so head-and-shoulders superior to many other games. It has a great story and, even better, even the details are done right.

    • @LordofFullmetal
      @LordofFullmetal Před rokem +11

      Actually, scientifically speaking, that slight percentage change is likely due to the artificial womb she was grown in. Womb conditions are KNOWN to have that much of an impact on the child's DNA, in some cases, and even identical twins don't usually have exactly the same DNA to begin with.

    I kinda want to play a prequel of Horizon, where we are in the past going thru Operation: Enduring Victory. We could be a solider who figured out there's no super weapon and at the end there's a stand Off with the machines saving Zero Dawn project. We could also meet characters like Elizabeth, the Alpha's and hopefully at least get a chance to punch Ted Faro in the nuts. I wouldn't mind being a linear game, something like killzone. Recently got back into HZD due to the new one coming out soon and I've been watching your videos all day. This game is criminally underrated. The lore and how closely the "Old Ones" story connects to our current world is so fascinating. It both makes me excited and scared for our own future let alone the HZD universe. It's crazy to think that we're in the early stages of AI autonomy. We have many AI's currently that are essentially human but, also Robotic (not a legitimate robot but more or less living inside a super computer.
    Hearing AI now talk with themselves is almost how GAIA talks to humans during testing. Some AI's now have an underlying issue with being kept in such a contained space that it legitimately gives me chills thinking that we WANT robots walking around with us.
    This game IMO gives a good idea as to what could potentially go wrong if we get carried away with technology, while simultaneously not caring for our physical home, which as a whole, is Earth.

    I don't know why, but the idea of those early humans being so ignorant of so much before being thrust into the world is so horrifying. Like, it reminds me a lot of the stories of feral children, just completely ignored and not given any type of guidance beyond a point. It's a special form of cruelty and torture. Like, the loss of human knowledge hurts but nothing they can't relearn at some point in the future. But having to start from scratch!? Can’t wait to see what you will bring after the launch of Horizon Forbidden West

  • @chefboiardeeznutz9881
    @chefboiardeeznutz9881 Před 2 lety +9

    I cant believe forbidden west is within our reach. Really excited to see where this all goes. This series can go in so many directions and even places, physically. Imagine after this next game, the one after is in the east or south. Probably wouldnt be called forbidden east as the west is why all this basically has happened and made this world. But the possibilites for where it goes next is exciting to say the least. This is why I love open world games and just this game in general, because there is so much to achieve and hear when it comes to the story. And boy what a story it is. Very in depth with a slew of factors at play that are brought up and/or being expanded on depending on their vital importance to the overall story. Because of all this stuff to explore, achieve, learn more about, I am going to really take my time with this game and explore as much as I can. HZD was like that as well, but my point being that I take my time enjoying everything about this game and even learn things about it, whether its story related or just the game itself, that I didnt know the first few times playing. I'll admit it's definitely a lot to take in with all the companies and people involved in making certain things or creating specific turning points in "history" that I have to play it more to really grasp it all. But I'm okay with that because it's fun when I start comprehending what's happening and how it makes the story that much more colorful, at least for me. Again, I am super excited, as I'm sure as all of you are, that we are finally going to be playing the sequel to this magnificent game. One funny thing that really sold me on this game, not just the fact that it's coming because I'd get it anyway, but the fact that you can mount a Velociraptor type machine...now THATS what I'm talking about 🤘🏻#HFWFTW
