Idk if it's a fact, but anyways I'll say it. Minnie Choi shares her name with an idol called "Minnie" from the K-pop group "(G)I-DLE".
Okey, I have lived in Mexico my whole life, also, my grandfather was a huge fan of Mexican cinema, from modern to the classics, so I think that something that a lot of people missed about Maria García is that she is probably a reference to María Félix, an actress from the golden age of Mexican cinema that to date is recognized in Mexican culture and cinema history by the roles she played using those type of tight dresses, Rainbow High is filled with pop culture references, and I feel just the name is clear reference to this actress and for the roses.. this might be my personal opinion but when I think about Mariachi I think about roses and serenatas, maybe they were trying to not be too literal with the design inspiration in día de muertos, by using roses instead of cempasúchil (Mary gold) , but to keep a nod to the tradition of the day and the flower they put it on the packaging?? I could be wrong, but I do feel I can see references my culture all over the doll, maybe not the most well known ones, but ones that I can relate to and enjoy.

@@Clawdeena9 I'm glad if I helped 😁 and yeah is a bit difficult to research the tradition of día de los muertos, mainly because each state has a different way to celebrate it, and the differences are HUGE 😅
I am also Mexican, but didn't notice that detail since my parents don't really watch golden age movies but yeah Maria is very pretty and she could possibly be referencing Maria Felix
honestly as a Mexican myself, the whole situation about maria’s dress was so stupid. Is the dress flamenco inspired? yes. but there are a TON of dresses with that style and silhouette in mexican culture and media. while i do agree there have been times when rainbow high has made some questionable and sometimes ignorant choices, this felt like to me everyone just wanted to find something to be mad over.
I get Diana Ross and the supremes from the divas too and the royal three's tessa park gives me Akali from k/da vibes.. they're all really cool and inspiring dolls.. despite the rivalry between brands I'm kind of loving all the doll releases.. still really hoping ever after high comes back too
Absolutely! Dreamgirls is a musical that is unofficially but very obviously based on Diana Ross and the Supremes. Beyonce played the character based on Diana in the Dreamgirls movie adaptation. Those dresses are heavily based on The Supremes. I love the way the dolls both tie to The Supremes and the Destiny’s Child. The bio on Ayesha also leans to her character being Kelly Rowland, as she’s from Texas too and is Beyoncé’s BFF. I also think Meline’s/Beyoncé’s hair and second outfit are a nod to the Austin Powers movie Goldmember that Bey was in. Her hair is identical to what she wore to the movie premier and on the video of the soundtrack song “Work it out”. Her second outfit is similar to a stage dress she wore in the Goldmember movie.

I also noticed that Tessa’s second outfit has elements of Hanbok and I really love it, as a Korean and a rainbow high fan
I don’t know if this counts as a fun fact, but I’m going to talk about Royal Three.
Lately some fans (including me) have found some similarities with League of Legends’ K-pop group KDA, especially because of the dolls’ hairstyles and some of their clothes.
Tiara reminds of Ahri because of the long hair and facial expression and they’re both leaders of their groups.
Minnie is quite similar to Seraphine because of their hair. In fact, for the KDA 2020 release in LoL she had 3 skins.
Finally, Tessa has some resemblance with Akali and Kai’sa. Akali and Tessa share the street style, somehow the hairstyle and the dragon motifs in their jackets. With Kai’sa, she has a high ponytail like the doll.
Having guidance with this comparisons, I have a theory of the roles has each member of Royal Three in their group.
Tiara- Leader
Minnie- Singer with a high voice or the one that leads the song into the climax and finale. If you watch the video of MORE, Seraphine is the last one to sing. Also, the singer that gives her voice to Seraphine, Lexie Liu, has been compared with Ariana Grande in the League of Legends fandom.
Tessa- Rapper and/or choreographer

I believe it's not an Animaniacs reference, but a Leather Whose(1920s animation style) reference (that is also what Animaniacs uses as reference for their designs).

Kudos on working on your anxiety and depression and talking about it too. Love the fun facts and that you can give us such fun content while still acknowledging that it is hard work. People in my life often comment that I appear so happy and upbeat when I may be feeling just the opposite. I have a different perspective on cultural appropriation as an old white woman. I love learning about all kinds of people and their cultures and subcultures and it has more to do with celebrating all of the diversity that I see around me and trying to learn. I am an anthropologist and love learning about people and how we got where we are. I never ever mean that as an insult to anyone and don't mind gentle corrections that further my understanding.
As a Spaniard who also knows Mexican culture: the dress is flamenco, but the outfit looks to die for 💀
So many Rainbow High and Shadow High dolls this year! I'm still struggling to catch up and collect them all, but they're so expensive and some are exclusive to certain stores, like Walmart, which makes it more frustrating. Great video! @@Clawdeena9 Black Friday holiday season shopping is coming up and it’s approaching really quick and prices current going up for rainbow high dolls and shadow high dolls I feel like people will buy them for a little kids for Christmas this year with all the new rainbow high dolls coming out and shadow high dolls that are coming out this year
I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this but Sunny and Lilia are holding light sticks during some of the Royal Three's Performance and the light sticks are designed to look like one of the best /badass the K-Pop Girl Group 2NE1's light sticks. It made my heart swell as a Blackjack/2NE1 fan.
Maria Gracie isn't actually part of the rainbow vision line, she's part of the collector line. My favourite doll's from rainbow vision are tiara song, Minnie choi, Sabrina snt cloud, Harley limestone Demi Batista & Eliza McFee

Actually I think Tiara’s is also a K-Pop reference, if not accidental. A group that dominated in 2011-2012 specifically is a group called T-ARA (who are still around today, just minus some main members), which their group name derived from Tiara (likely was going to be their group name, but likely was taken, which similarly happed to 2NE1 who would have originally been 21), which was like a short hand prediction that they would be “Queens Of The Industry”. Again, could just be a in common thing, but T-ARA did get really big and definitely projected groups like them at that time, especially the retro trend.
Also the dolls that had the Beyoncé inspired doll also took a inspiration from The Supremes but also have a similar aspect that is shared with Wonder Girl’s back in 2008/2009, with their global breakout Nobody. Now I only bring up WG, because it was obvious that era screamed The Supremes, but it was also the first K-pop track to ever chart in the US, meaning that K-pop groups now might not have the staying power completely, if not for WG, who also were very vintage and retro inspired with some of their comebacks, which became popular in Korea.

One of the newest RH doll design Kim Nguyen is DEFINITELY based off of Lisa from Blackpink, which I was so ecstatic about because I’m a huge fan of Blackpink and Lisa!! They look so similar too, down to the makeup choices and hair, and clothing style. 💕💕

FUN FACT #1x+2y=a+b+c:Tessa Park shares the same if not similar clothes or references some clothing of Akali’s uniforms for K/DA’s POP/STARS and MORE(pun intended)her shoes from her performance uniform were inspired by Akali’s shoes for MORE her pants from her original outfit were inspired by Akali’s pants from POP/STARS and last but not least since we are on the subject of Akali her jacket from her performance uniform does look a little similar to Akali’s jacket from both POP/STARS and MORE and especially since Akali loves riding her Motorcycle
