Yesterday I was on a GWR service to Banbury and the announcements said "This is a great western railway service to Banbury We'll be calling at Culham, Radley, Oxford, Tackley, Kings Sutton and..." I then began to laugh about the glitch

@@simontay4851 Text to Speech. A few years back there was a TTS system in use at East Midlands Trains and it was dreadful. Much like that announcement at Wem.

The Sheffield announcement at Cleethorpes used to be an absolute mess (no idea if it still is or not, not been for 6 years..). It would skip Retford and say “this train will call additionally at … today” 😂
