    What's really interesting is Dr Mann, the "best of us," shows exactly why they had to have Plan A. When it came time to put the species first, instead of not turning on the signal (as his planet was unhospitable,) he hit the button (self-preservation.)

AND (unlike during the 23-years-of messages scene which ALSO really got me), I wasn't distracted at all by trying to eat a salad (lol). That "Finally seeing Murph" reaction of mine was THE moment I thought "Ok, WHAT is this movie doing to me, do OTHER people react like this?" and then discovered CZcams reactors lol. ADDENDUM: I have decided I am going to take action tonight in starting to acquire full access to "The Adam Project" (then watch your reaction)... I try to be as frugal as possible but can't resist the possibilities with that movie anymore, LOL.

    From Professor Brand's point of view, lying to everyone was the only way to save Humanity.
    He was right. It was vital to keep hope alive; it would motivate people to keep working.
    Sending a colony to another planet was the only way to save the species.
    Plan A (solving gravity and building huge space stations) was not a long shot. It was a dream, a fantasy.
    Little did Professor Brand know that the long shot would WORK!

  • @sathvamp1
    @sathvamp1 Před rokem +1

    When I saw "Interstellar" myself for the first time on my own, that's what got me watching reactions in the FIRST place, because I virtually never cry to movies, BUT: During that 23-years-of-messages scene, [while being a bit preoccupied trying to eat a salad during!]... I half-consciously wondered "Ok, why are my eyes watering (and dripping down my nose)??"
    Actually since my first-time watch of "Inside Out"a few years prior, I had developed a big appreciation for emotional movies (that was the first time I firsthand felt the feel-good brain endorphins that can come along with tears).
    So...when I noticed I was reacting that way to "Interstellar", I was actually annoyed with myself for trying to eat (hence unwittingly distracting myself) during such a profound moment! After that, I put my food DOWN if I sensed something important was coming up :P And...I WAS rewarded at that ending scene :)
    But anyway, despite "Inside Out" having made me into a "tearjerker-seeker", I discovered it was notoriously hard to find a movie that would do that to me again (like YOU, apparently!) Interstellar was the first one since "Inside Out" (a few YEARS afterwards). "Interstellar" was the first movie that really made me wonder "Do OTHER people react this way... or is it just me?" Upon finding some reactions of course I soon saw it was NOT "just me" :)

    Until this film, I liked the Nolan films. Until then, he always managed to bring emotions and storytelling together. Since TENET he's lost that. Whether Oppenheimer, Tennet or Dunkirk. None of the characters were half as important to me as Murph.

      @@justUzzy If I didn't mention it already, you get HUGE respect from me just for being potentially willing...! After my first watch of the movie "Inside Out" (when I FIRST noticed that feel-good brain endorphins can actually get released along with tears), a few months later I got the urge to tell a good friend about that experience, and just THINKING about TELLING them that I had been triggered to cry was giving me the most intense butterflies in my stomach of my life (and that's coming from a thrillseeker...but normally of the amusement ride enthusiast variety lol). They knew I had SOME sort of story to tell them, but it took me an HOUR during my visit with them to just START to get the story out, lol! Once I did though, it felt SOOOO GOOD. And led to lots of interesting brain-related sub-conversations and stories on both sides too! Side note: For some reason I again thought of "The Adam Project" which I have NOT yet watched, but have been waiting until I see it myself before seeing your reaction to it... but caved just enough to read your description. THAT made me make sure to bump up that movie to "NEXT" on my personal list of "don't have it yet but want to see it" lol.
