For me, Interstellar is as close to perfect as a movie gets. The score is heavy when it needs to be and tender when it needs to be.
The biggest weakness for me are all the cringe pseudoscience lines. The rest is brilliant
@@44r0n-9 you mean the lines which are too complex for your tiny brain?
This is a movie for people who think they're intellectuals, super pleb kinema. Insane visuals but everything else is cringe beyond all belief.
@@EasyHeebz This film is not for intellectuals, it's a stunning, gut wrenching, elaboration of the line from Ferris Bueller's Day Off: "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it."
@@SteventheShoehanger poetic cinema
The black whole scene was has developed by an astrophysicist using super computers. It’s widely regarded as the most accurate representation of what a black hole actually looks like.
Turns out Kip Thorne was right more or less, based on the photos.
Not the inside of it tho that was completely theoretical
@@jonasgluck2569 Not the inside no. Just the awesome way the outside looks.
@@jonasgluck2569 you talk like you been there lol
Even for the effects of the light around the black hole, I think I recall Kip Thorne said in an interview that they set the black hole to rotate at a next-to-impossible speed in order to get the physical basis for a prettier visualization. It's still not like a real one due to that unfortunately, but the closest rendered replica in cinema at least.
Hans Zimmer's score simply takes you to interplanetary levels, no pun intended
@watashi you got some bad taste of one of the best scores in cinema history it's an absolute masterpiece
@watashi I'm sorry but you have terrible taste in music.
@watashi you need to get your ears checked
You did mean that pun u liar!!
yup
'I knew you come back'
'How?'
'Because my Dad promised me'
So powerful....
It was so wild when Matt Damon first appeared, completely uncredited. And then him turning out bad was doubly surprising for an A List celebrity. Such a good play on audience expectations.
He did The Martian to apologize.
Chris Nolan always leaves me in awe after watching his films. Definitely my favorite director. Always leaving a twist at the end.
Him and tarantino
@@j.a.g.8689 and Villeneuve 👍
@@j.a.g.8689 2 Directors who stands for analog cinema.... thats real Filmmaking...
And Alfred Hitchcock
Not just the twist, but everything about the movie leaves me in awe. All the way, the whole movie you are in for a ride. Everything and every detail, crafted and fully thought out. :D
To your comment about “watching this in theaters” I will say this was one of the most immersed I’ve ever been while watching a movie. The bass of the speakers vibrating your insides during the scene on the water planet was absolutely unreal!
I bet!
It was awesome visually in IMAX for sure but the sound design was pure ass during all the big action scenes. Missed so much dialogue because Nolan loves to bombard and overwhelm your eardrums. Not the first or last time he's done that in his films. one of my only hard criticisms of his movies.
@@stephensporman8206 Dude the wave scene in IMAX literally made me weak. It was So. Good.
@@stephensporman8206 bro i just had the same thing happen on Tenet. I coulsnt hear a thing the villain said near the end on the boat
Out of all the movies I've ever seen in theaters, this one was by far the most impactful. I was young when I saw it too, everything was so intense I was in awe the whole time, and the music oh my god. I'll never forget that experience
The Sheer amount of Money it would have cost to fake the landing is so big, it would have been easier to just go there, and that's what we did.
The most advanced competitors and rivals, the Soviets, congratulated the US and monitored the launch and journey. There were many landings too and they left behind stuff you can see with a powerful enough telescope.
People who believe moon landing is fake are the equivalents of Flat Earth/Brain society.
Not just the amount of money, but the amount of people that they would have to swear to secrecy is insane. No way they could keep that many people quiet about it.
especially in 1969. It was easier to just go to the moon than to fake it.
@@Phireo _"There were many landings too and they left behind stuff you can see with a powerful enough telescope."_ There is no telescope with that much magnification. You would need one with a ~600 ft diameter mirror to resolve any of the man-made objects left on the moon. The photos we have of the Apollo lunar module were taken from lunar orbit just a few kilometers from the surface of the moon.
My favorite part of the movie was trying to walk out of the IMAX theater, not knowing up from down, and realizing everyone else doing the same thing.
True! My background is in marine science but physics is a hobby of mine so I have an alright grasp of the concepts in the film and even I was awestruck and slightly confused after watching it in theaters. Really a once in a lifetime experience
12:23 *simple docking procedure* "Dude, that was too intense. Fuck"
Hahaha, ohhh buddy. Just wait.
I and my friend screamed *in theater* when Brand took off her helmet at the end. What an emotional ending.
“Brand... she’s out there.. setting up camp... a l o n e, in a strange galaxy. Maybe right now, she’s settling in for the long nap, by the light of our new sun in our new home...”
I always tear up at this part (among several others)
Greatest movie ever
Not even exaggerating, I honestly think it is. The scope, scale, score, storytelling, message, acting, ethics dilemmas... it's just an absolutely masterpiece.
@@Marthyboy88 facts
@@Marthyboy88 yes ... Nolan makes real CINEMA.
Yeah, it's an incredible film. I also highly recommend watching "Arrival". Also one of the greatest movies ever.
@@ALeaud arrival is grest
Then Matt Damon goes off to make a movie about being on a planet alone. "The Martian".
And he wears the same color suit bro with the orange and white combo I wonder if that was a little Easter egg
@@charlieberg8277 I dunno, they did make a Lord of the Rings reference with Sean Bean in the room, as well as an Iron Man reference with Sebastian Stan in the room.
Man, I am crying watching just the cut scenes
REALLY wish they would re-release this in theaters. I didn’t watch the movie for the first time until 2017 😭
I don't think there's anything that gets me in almost any movie more than "because my dad promised me" gets me.
The waves aren't moving on that planet. The gravitational pull from the black hole is literally pulling the waves "up" and as the planet rotates the perception of moving waves is seen so basically those were gravity waves and the planet they were standing on was rotating them into the waves.
so just like normal waves on earth lol. except the gravity acted on the waves comes from the moon
@@matthewerwine8333 Its more like our tides. Tides on earth are essentially one huge wave that you rotate into and out of over the course of the day.
So they were actually feeling less than the planet’s normal gravity, weren’t they?
I had dreams like this as a child. Like, when i was 6 and 7, not knowing they were practical concepts of possible planetary conditions until i was an adult, and saw this film. Lol
This movie has the greatest score of all time
So ture
The people talking about the 'Dust Bowl' is from a documentary... they were kids living through it.
When you realise following your heart and love is the right path but instead they followed the deceit and lies, sure it helped the human race in the end but only after Coop decided to follow his heart.
I like the idea each tick represented time on the water planet but when you think about it if 1hour is 7 years each tick would have been more like a week not a day
I remember seeing this movie in Imax. Some of the shots were just unreal on that screen. I also really appreciated that the writers didn't just ignore time dilation when most sci fi does. It was a welcome change for me.
The script and entire movie was over seen by a very famous scientist to make sure that the movie could be as scientifically accurate as possible, hence why you don’t hear any explosions out in space during the movie, since sound doesn’t exist in the vacuum of space
I distinctly remember when this movie came out. I'm not a movie person but my cousins wanted to see a movie in a theater one day back in 2014 and decided on watching this movie. Funny enough the week before I watched this movie, I saw hour or two long video on CZcams about multi-dimensions and how it works since I already have an obsession with space. So when I saw the black hole scene knowing full well what was happening, I knew this would be my favorite movie of all time. On top of the accuracy of the movie in many regards to space-time, black hole optics, time relativity, the absolute silence in space scenes, and everything.
The only thing I truly want to do before I die (I'm 21 now) it go into space at least once, and this movie gave me a glimpse in the big picture how it could feel like. It was tear jerking (in a good way) to see a couple years later the self landing rockets from SpaceX and the numerous mission planned from NASA, ESA, JAXA and other public/private space industries to colonize mars, the moon, and explore Europa. This movie felt so personal to me.
I am rewatching every single one of your uploads and liking them while I do work in the shop! You're already building back strong man props!
Thanks man!!
Me too bro! I'm so glad he's back!
I love how in the beginning you’re supposed to think the interviews with the older people are from the dust bowl of the 1930’s in the Midwest
I watched this movie for the 7th time today, and it still remains my favorite movie of all time.
You need to watch Shawshank Redemption & Green Mile
Yeah such good movies
Shawshank is GOAT
Yes! Shawshank Redemption is great!
oh jes..2 Masterpieces of another genre. Green Mile and Shawnshank Re.....are one of the best Drama's ever. And both are based on books from Stephen King.
It's nice seeing a reactor that doesn't need everything explained to them. ;)
I remember seeing this movie in IMAX on the first day of release, planned it perfectly to make sure i got center seats and not too close to the screen. Right after Cooper pleads to Dr. Mann not to dock and then Mann blew himself up, When Dr Brandt then asks Cooper he's doing, and he says..."docking". I lost my shit in the imax theater, I got goosebumps immediately and literally leaned forward audibly saying pretty loudly "what...the...fuck!?!". As the scene went I remember thinking, Nolan... you crazy bastard , you just cranked the intensity up to a 10. Then the music tipped it over to an 11. That moment, that sequence with that music and the sound just blasting. Sensory Overload... I will never forget that experience
Something that's not discussed by a lot of people is the "location", if you can call it that, behind Murphy's bookcase. The look of it, the production design choices are not random. The current theory being studied to connect quantum mechanics and general relativity is very much about how black holes are connecting the universe in countless "threads" of what we perceive as reality, and by doing it actually making up the fabric of the universe. Because the center of black holes is incredibly massive (which is why gravity inside is also insane) it's theorised infinite amounts of information about reality are stored there, and they're basically the source code of all that exists. It's hard to explain without using mathematics, and those are far, FAR from my reach, but it's pretty cool they chose to represent the center of the black hole as a library connected by infinite threads.
On the water planet, the soundtrack in the background has a ticking noise. These ticks happen every 1.25 seconds. Each tick you hear is a whole day passing on Earth
Since this movie was released in 2014, it's been about 1 hour and 2 minutes on Miller's planet.
At age 14, I saw Apollo 11 overhead a few hours before they shot away to the moon. The weatherman said we would see it at dusk and sure enough it was there right on time. Because of my interest in astronomy I had a Newtonian 6" reflector telescope and had practiced following jets flying over. When I could steady the image while tracking the Apollo vehicle moving overhead, I could see the main engine nozzle on the service module quite clear and the pointed shape of the command module on the other end of the service module. The lunar lander was clearly visible as a roundish shape attached to the command module tip, and I could occasionally see the lander legs on the opposite end of the lander barely glinting in the sunlight otherwise they were invisible. Since I was not equipped with a camera I made a sketch right away and still have it. They were up there, they landed on the moon. Listen to what this guy says about the "faked the moon landings" stuff... czcams.com/video/5SMpFpsgcSw/video.html
this is my favorite movie and i had the honor of watching it in theatres in 2014. wish i could relive that
Each percussive tick during Miller's planet equals an entire day passing on Earth.
The percussive upbeats during the fight between Cooper and Mann translate to S.T.A.Y in morse code.
My heart had never pounded so hard or for so long before I saw this movie.
Watched it in the cinema 3 times. Still the best thing ive ever seen to this day.
The thing about this movie is that it took several watches for me to understand and appreciate it. When it came out, I would say that at 14 I didn't care much for space travel and all that. Later at age 18 I thought it was pretty dope. Now a few weeks ago, I saw it again and it blew my mind. The story, the concept of time, THE MUSIC. I felt so many emotions, it's the closest to perfect a movie can be.
Can you imagine how surprised Brand would have been when the ship lands and He steps out
His daughter is the CGI Baby from Twilight
It is a great time to be a science fiction fan. Special effects have evolved to the point that some truly stunning movies and TV shows can be produced. Interstellar, The Martian and Gravity are three examples that I thought had fantastic visuals in addition to telling pretty good stories.
FYI. Nolan did not use any greenscreen for this movie. And hardly any cgi (only complex moves from TARS and the big wave)
And the back hole. And the ice clouds. And the upside down planet. And
I'll hold the memory of me walking down to my friends basement at 12 years old and seeing the full body apparition of an old woman. Yes, I believe in ghosts 😂
Lol
@watashi I had an interaction with a spirit or entity of some kind. They’re 100% real. You shouldn’t knock it just because it hasn’t chosen to express itself to you.
I’m liking the “5AM” beat by logic in the background.🔥🔥
I've had the privelege and honour to watch this in an IMAX theatre. Best edge of seat experience
I'm literally in tears, I don't know how this movie does it. I always cry with this one
This is easily one of my favorite movies of all time, and I had the great pleasure of watching it at an IMAX theater in NYC when it came out.
Matt Damon's character is the flip side of Mark Warner from The Martian. He succumbed to the isolation when he realized his planet was no good.
Dr.Mann wasn’t bad, he wanted to complete the mission of finding and not giving up to find an planet that can contain life, cooper was thinking about Himself and Merph.
So basically there’s an good and bad in both sides
I was 19 and walked out with a tear in my eye. Such a beautiful movie
Seeing this movie when It came out on the biggest screen I could've found was a cinematic mindfuck.
I saw this beautiful movie in Italy when it came out and I liked it so much that I saw it several times. The story is based on a phenomenon called "Dust Bowl" that actually happened in the central part of the United States and Canada between 1931 and 1939 due to the intensive exploitation of agricultural crops. C. Nolan imagines that this disaster affects the whole world and our species must leave the Earth. To understand why time flows more slowly on planets of great mass, one has to imagine a Bowling ball on a mattress: the larger it is, the more space / time bends due to the force of gravity as predicted by Einstein. If, for example, one could stay on a Black Hole for a minute, the force of gravity would be so powerful that a million years would pass on Earth! More difficult to understand Quantum Physics which in theory is irreconcilable with Relativity. The relationship between Cooper and his daughter "Murph" is also very moving. Greetings from Milan, Italy
how you did not shed a single tear while watching it is beyond me
My grandpa was a part of Apollo 13 and the Titan missile program. I know the moon landings were real.
If there are really ghosts, then why since the invention of the motion picture has there not been one single film of a ghost also witnessed by impartial outsiders. When your body breaks, it's just like any other machine that breaks.
I watched this movie only a week ago, it was so good I watched it twice on the same day lmao.
My all time favourite film.
Watching Interstellar on a laptop. Exactly how it is supposed to be watched
plan A did work, since he gave the info they needed from the watch, that was a ship at the end en route to the new planet.
Keep up the good work! Ik watching for a 2nd time as most of us are. You’ll get those subs back. People watch these videos for someone’s personality. Seeing there reactions, excitement, etc.
Keep up the great work! We’ll he here
Thanks!
This is in my top 3 of all time, I absolutely loved it!
The willingness to die for your children is one thing, but the willingness to fall into a black hole in order for the miniscule possibility it would change something is on a completely different level. From what we know, it's unsurvivable. But he knew that and still risked it 😤
Guess Brand was right all along, geez. The power of love. MARTHA!
The problem with this movie is what mathmatics says happens when you go into a black hole. They just ignored it.
What happens is you freeze in time to everyone else watching you fall in, and you watch the whole universe behind you move faster and faster through time. Before you can even make it to the event horizon.
No one can actually say “there’s no such thing as ghost” that not possible
Masterpiece, one of the best and probably the best sci-fi movie of all time
I still don't understand how this didn't walk away with a best picture or even a best actor award🏆
When Coop wartches 23 years of video from bis kids (17:38) and "because my father told me" (Sadly you didn't include this befördert 28:28, neither your reaction to the reveal of old Murph) brings up the tears for me everytime
I've seen a lot of your reactions. You seem genuine. Here's a sub bro
I don't know what to think about the moon landing, but a few things speaks in their favor.
1. All the people that worked on the project would have to remain silent.
2. Soviet (Russia) have never denied it. If it was fake, they would have done everything to prove that it didn't happen.
Hells yes! Still my favorite film of all time since 2014!
Hey if you're ever going for channel related merch, please make a t-shirt that says: "we're gonna hop into this movie"
Not joking. It's iconic AND a great t-shirt to wear to the movies in general :D
(put your youtube channel logo top right on the back of the shirt)
edit: just realized your cap already is channel related merch. But still :) I think it's a good idea
It's weird to see Timothée Chalamet in this movie right after watching Dune
Can’t wait for more clone wars reactions I need to see more Rex reactions 😂
its one of those movies were your not sure the main character will live and have a happy ending
"dude, time's crazy" well said
i believe in ghosts cuz it used to happen some weird stuff in my room many times
He's the only person I've seen who realized the metronome ticking was a day on earth
Was blessed to see this in the cinemas. The most beautiful looking film I have ever seen. Some real Space Oddessey vibes
The most realistic thing about this movie is that sophism inherits the earth with teaching beliefs instead of facts.
The greatest movie ever 💖😭... I loved your reactions. The music always makes me cry 😢...
Thanks!
The first time I seen this movie was in middle school in science class and after our class finished the movie I was so tripped out I couldn't even tell if my life was real
I don't believe in ghosts for the same reason I don't believe in intelligent aliens visiting Earth today:
The only piece of evidence we have for both of these things is some people saying "you have to believe me, I saw it."
Bro I can't... I cry every time I watch that scene 18:05
I just barely started this and it reminds me of what an amazing experience it was watching this movie I'm going to have to rent it and watch it again
I even believe that they don't tell us everything about what they've done on mars/moon. Feels like there's something more but maybe it's just my imagination huh
Please do Tenet when its released in December!
At 15:46 you see Miller's ship crash because of time dilation
out of all your reactions i feel like you liked this movie the best haha! i love this movie, keep up the vids man
Thanks man!
My dude primate, how do we tell which videos are recorded from before and which ones have you recently recorded?
These are all reuploads I’ll make a announcement when it’s new

If you zoom on the computer from which he hacked the Indian drone, it's in Sanskrit
How in the earth you didn't cry at the end of the movie when he finally saw her daughter ?i mean damn that part always hits hard
Nice i'll watch it 2 times to support you mate ^^

Of course the moon landing was real. The space race *was* just a big flexing battle between the US/USSR, but it was real. Hopefully we can go back some day though I guess there might not be much to see.
And yeah, the longer you experience time even normally the more you think about it in different ways.
The soundtrack gives me chills
