It’s easy to say harsh things when everyone else is, the tone was set and ppl went with along. If this video shown him in a tragic light then that’s how most ppl would have reacted and commented because like it or not most ppl are sheep. They get in where it’s easy to fit in. If everyone says one thing then they say it too cuz they wanna be accepted. Everyone should just take 10 seconds and remember some of the stupid shit they did at 21 and got away with, now think about if u hadn’t been so lucky, would that make u a piece of shit?

People that are drunk dont make good decisions so its idiotic to get upset at them for those decisions. No doubt you brainless retards would be even more upset with him if the woman he killed was pregnant. In Australia it is illegal for an establishment to serve someone alcohol if they are drunk. Its the responsibility of the establishment because a drunk person doesnt know when to stop. Because they are $&$&ing drunk. If you want to blame someone then blame the establishment that continued to serve him alcohol until he was twice the legal limit, then blame the guy he called for help - then blame his girlfriend that apparently let him drive after they left establishment.
What dumb stuff have you done while drunk? The fact that you havent killed a pregnant lady while drunk is just blind luck. You dont know what you are doing while you are drunk.

Moroso definitely had a lot of hype coming into the series following his 1989 Busch Title. Given NASCAR's rising popularity at the time the media began searching for "the next big thing" every year. Gordon would basically come along at the same time and proved to be the star that Moroso never lived to be.

He was a young, promising racer who had something go horribly wrong in his car, and he ended up getting killed. Rob got drunk, drove under the influence, killed himself, and killed Tammy as well, which would be classified as involuntary manslaughter. I'm not saying we should scoff at the fact that Moroso's dead. But we can't ignore that he did it to himself. That's also why we can classify Moroso as a bust - his off-the-track antics filled in the gap of his very short career. It's not just racing that can make you a bust in the sport (i.e. Sean Caisse).

The other day I watched the 1990 Mello Yello 500, the first race after Moroso’s death, and I saw that Barry Dodson was a crew chief analyst during the race. It makes me think why didn’t he do more to prevent Moroso from driving under the influence? I’m sure Dodson thought about him during the race, but if he really feels emotional about Moroso’s death, he would express his regret not doing something right then and there. Moroso was really fucking stupid, but Dodson was an idiot as well.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned it but Barry Dodson lost his son & daughter in a car accident. I don't know if alcohol was involved. They were both teenagers, so I think they were passengers and not driving the car. Another lesson besides "don't drive drunk" should be, this time for parents, for a rich kid like Rob Moroso, don't just give him everything and make life so easy. The kid obviously never learned responsibility because he had the money to escape the consequences of his actions on previous occasions. Also, he was pushed into cup too soon and was in over his head. Another year or two in the Busch series may have made him more ready to face the Cup grind. Even Jeff Gordon raced two full seasons in Busch before moving up to a cup ride, and he was more of a talent than Moroso, and came into the series with the established Rick Hendrick team. Moroso was pushed ahead too quickly by an ambitious father and the results were disaster. For that, not for the way he lost his life, I think he deserves some sympathy.

A lot of growing up and understanding the career of a nascar driver he could been very good. Mainly listening to the guy who had described what Moroso was going through off the track. While yes he had the world at his fingertips but as someone who dominates in Busch competition to constantly wrecking and finishing mid pack the whole season in cup, that had to be demoralizing. The data doesn't back up your claim. In his rookie Cup season Rob had average finishes of 25th. That compares favorably with racers like Dale Earnhardt Jr (20.8) and Kyle Busch (21). The 1989 championship Busch campaign saw him winning 4 times, with 12 Top 5s and 16 Top 10s. That he killed someone else in the accident is so sad.
