I had to go back and watch the sky colors meld together. So I watch the first 4 minutes again. Beautiful.

Hi Rae, I’m glad I found your channel. Your tutorials are so inspiring. I came to lessons with you in Ingleside and Elanora NSW many, many years ago and you were inspirational then!

This is beautiful! I'm going to try it - at least the sky. I'm amazed at how long your paper stays wet! That's a big help in this style. I use 140Lb (Arches), but mine doesn't seem to stay wet enough, long enough!? i'm usually able to get through the sky, but then, my foreground is too dry! thanks you for sharing your talents!

Thank you so much Robin ... Wet into wet technique is inclined to be a little tricky for many people ..
I only wet the sky fully in this video because I can keep control over what happens with the white areas at the bottom of my page better.. so I would follow the directions of the video and you should not have trouble with your paper drying out too much.
Of course that depends on the climate and where you live, so if it’s a very hot day your paper might dry out a lot quicker . That sky has to be fairly saturated for that it to work ..By not wetting the bottom of the page to begin with and teasing the watercolor down into that area in a very controlled way .. you can keep the precious white paper in places where needed ..
thanks again for your comment ....come back and visit soon😊

A little late in replying I know! Sometimes it helps to thoroughly wet both sides of the paper. Hope this helps.
