I got married and my husband and his family are obessesed with basketball and football. I usually sit there confused, now I know how both games are played so thank you! My husband is very happy I took an interest to learn and learned fast! All the guys in the family play, I know our future sons will play so I'm glad I understand. Very simple but very informative for someone who never watched a game before.

There is a thing. 24 second rule is not universal, in college basketball it is 30 second rule, used to be 35 before 2015 and even 45 before 1993. Before 2000 only NBA was played with 24 second rule.

Yo it’s been 5 yrs how’s basketball going
Great vid, going to show this to my PE group, we did BB yesterday because they've never been coached it was the most physical game I've ever seen, full contact and learning in and over opponents etc, couldn't grasp my whole 'imagine a hula hoop' around the person you can't enter' so this vid will be really helpful.

Phew.. I am getting better with this now, thank you. Almost every other time I played the basketball in school, I'd always commit a foul unintentionally. Sometimes, I'd be told it's rowing. We have a basketball competition in school that will commence this month, and I don't want to cause my team fouls unnecessarily. My hunger to understand this sport led me here and my time here was worth it.

i was playing with my best mate but difference is that he has been playing for a long while , but i have recently just started. i know some basic things and i don't foul that much . but he kept saying "double dribble" and " you just defensive fouled me" i didn't quite get what i was doing wrong , thanks to this video i now know. thanks very clear and informative

Keep in mind "street" or gym basketball can be played differently with more contact less strict fouling and whoever makes the point keeps the ball. Especially when playing halfcourt basketball

Yes, it exists, but sometimes the lines are a bit blurred I guess, so it might seem like they double dribbled, or maybe they actually did

@@Goldenxbih What, you can hold the ball in the offense 24 seconds (thats when the shot clock runs out). It means offensive players can stand only 3secs inside the paint and then touch outside it with a leg.
AlphaAF what he didn’t say is the offense team cannot stand in the key for more than 3,seconds, the defense can stand in there for however long they want

Field goal % is the percentage of shots that have scored. Hope that helps?

Allif Johan FG% = percentage of taken shots that go in inside the arc
3PT% = same but for shots behind the arc
FT% = same but for free throws
True FG% = same but for every single shot
Win shares are hard to describe, but measure how much a players performance effects the game
Double double = get 10 or more in two major stats (points, assists, rebounds, blocks, and steals)
Triple double = same but for one more
Quadruple double = same but for one more
