I’m surprised that people are calling this good acting. She’s just nodding her head and making a little emotion and then changing to another little emotion in a cycle. It’s not even aligning with what the other person is saying. I see they wanted to show it as if she’s becoming nervous and dead inside while the big things are blurted out but it’s so surface level. I personally liked her acting choice in this scene. Didn’t watch beyond episode 1 but from what I gather, this is her being offered a shot at stardom, in her mid/late-20s, after working as a backup dancer? This is someone who’s being given the title role for the first time in her life. Of course she should be excited, overwhelmed, not knowing what to do with herself because she never expected it, her whole life is flashing before her eyes I mean.. that’s my takeaway from it anyway. In fact the original script had none of what was show on the series today, HBO spent 75 million reshooting the entire series because 4 out of 6 episodes were initially done however, it was scrapped bc The Weekend and Sam Levinson felt like it focused too much on the female perspective.
Later in the show, she gets finessed and played. I’ve not speaking from experience but I have a strong feeling that both the acting and music industry is full of backstabbers and shady deal makers

@@kozmilkThat’s not true, at all even. She was brought in after Sam, all of the “she joined before” was just rumors created by Blinks for Blinks. In fact the original script had none of what was show on the series today, HBO spent 75 million reshooting the entire series because 4 out of 6 episodes were initially done however, it was scrapped bc The Weekend and Sam Levinson felt like it focused too much on the female perspective.
