You need to play 1939 Slovakia. It's technically a starting country, and you didn't play it in A2Z.

cancerous naval invasions are literally why i gave up on my japan game in 1947 when i almost capped USA and Canada, while holding all of the east

The thing about the 1939 start is that you really are locked into historical focuses so unless you like starting out as nazi Germany and allied France or Britain, 1936 is the way to go

I'm guessing that the 1939 start date is used quite frequently in testing, as it gets to the big war much much faster (obviously), which is why the trees have been kept updated.
I personally used it to train myself when i just had to game with strats and micro/macro

It’s strange that nations like Paraguay have entirely different leaders and ideologies. Like in 1936 it starts Communist (which isn’t accurate) and in 1939 they start non aligned like they did historically in 1939.

Mine's 2011, but it's a desktop AND it has a 6-year-old very cautiously used GPU that might be on its way out. Thank you for making me feel like I have a beast of a gaming rig, it makes me feel better :)

The only 1939 start game I’ve played was as China and it was honestly a lot of fun, because of how the Japanese start it’s basically a disaster save from Paradox
39 start date honestly would be really good for new players who don’t quite understand the building up process and what to go straight into the fight
Char 2c's were sent South on trains (which got stuck because of a burning oil tanker cart that blocked the tracks) when the French lost the North and they blew up all but 1 Char 2c it was captured by the Germans as a trophy then disappeared after the war.
1939 start + historical focuses off is my favorite cursed game because you can get things like Franco restoring the monarchy and joining the Allies

@@ordinaryperson-my7qr It was relatively recently added in NSB. It's located on the top part of state menu and it basically sabotages every supply building in the region(railroads and supply hubs) and removes them from repair queue. It can be very useful for countries like China to temporarily stop enemy advance into their territory in order to build some sort of defence while enemy repairs all supply.

About the EU4 Bookmark dates...
Leythe on the SocialStreamers Channel has been having a lot of fun with the different bookmarks. He even made a hashtag I forgot what it was called, to promote people to play the start dates beyond 1444.

The reason paradox didn't add more start dates in CK3 is because people generally don't like their other start dates like this one or any of them in EU4 but the thing is that CK2 start dates are actually really good and most of the groundwork is already there.
I'm a paradox nut and play every one of their games, ck2 is the only one where I play on a different start date. I pretty much change up the date whenever I start a new campaign, and I even make use of the non-bookmark dates.
CK3 is a big step back after CK2. I had more than 1000 hours in ck2...

Don't know if anyone else noticed, but when then Italians were counter invaded in Syria, they tried to fight the invasion by quickly putting a naval invasion on the port. Triple invasion.

You should try the World Ablaze mod. I know it's not your type of mod, and it is really slow, but i really like it, and it has the most historical flavour out of any other mod out there. It will surely make the developers' day if you made a video on it.

They should have a go at doing a 1945 Start Date, maybe a bit of post WW2 content, since whichever 2 of the Axis-Comintern-Allies survive always go to war like 6 months after a peace deal anyway.

I only played in 1939 start date when I was new to game . 1936 build up was kinda overwhelming. It is good starting date for newbies.

What I took away from this was that there needs to be a Hearts of Iron 4 - Start Date 1939 - run through. Oh and the rat needs to come back..
The Italian tanks in that time were called the Metal coffins for a reason. I saw one of them as I was playing a BT-5 in war thunder and I can tell you it look like a toy. My shell went through like a knife in butter. XD

I only play hoi4 at 1939 (because im a physcopath) AND if you’re a minor country that is mostly uninvolved in world events until later you can get to the action sooner.
It's kinda sad to see 1939 being updated while nobody is playing and if it doesn't get updated some people will complain for a gamemode designed to not be played like those people only look at the map and move on to 1936 but if there are mad lads who play 1939 Im not judging this is just my opinion

Haven't been playing since release. In fact have only started playing in mid 2020.
Still have 3k hours though. The game simply consumes time itself.

Actually the vast majority of the 2C tanks were scuttled because they were too difficult to transport to the frontline and they had a lot of mechanical problems. There was only one of the ten 2Cs that was captured because the explosive charges did not explode.
