  • I go over the ins and outs of the aid bag I carried in Iraq, what I have in it, and why I have it set up how it is.

Instead of using a cravat to wrap your IV supplies in just open the top of the bag that your fluids come in and pack your supplies in there. I know you stated you're not a medic anymore but it's a good idea for anyone else watching this video.
Thanks for the video. I just started using a M9 bag and your video helped get some ideas on how to set up my bag.

Great setup, Any dextrose product is more likely to have a shorter practical shelf life simply because it has the potential to be a growth medium. Normal saline and Lactated Ringer's do not they are water and minerals only without any nutrient. consider the bags as good for years to come, perhaps as long as 10 years. Properly stored they may last 15.

@TrollinDuncan I was a 91W which was what they use to call 68W - I reclassed to 11B in the Guard, though my unit sent me to 68W Pre Deployment Training at Camp Bullis in TX before deploying to Iraq and even though I was an 11B on the MTOE I was used as the PLT medic.

Most vehicles are (supposed) to have a WALK, or Warrior Aid and Litter Kit with a TALON Folding litter for transportation. If there is no litter available, or there is not time to set one up, drags/carries are utilized.

@docrock184 Hextend has sodium, calcium potassium, magnesium which are minerals and would break down thus making it not last as long as normal LR NS so i would prob say not to much longer and they will be bad

And you're probably in a POG ass unit or some hospital setting, yet all us infantry bn's get the short end of the stick. fuck yeah

idk what you are talking about, my BN is getting pretty good gear. either your supply people are assholes or you just arent deploying soon enough for people to be worrying about your aidbag. Just use the medium ruck until you get something, it works pretty well.

Great review and rationale. This is just what I was looking for since I am attending PHTLS-TCCC class in a few weeks.

Great video. I've been carrying the STOMP II for about two years now, looking to get a m9. STOMP II is just too cumbersome and sucks trying to get in and out of a Humvee with it.

Don't use the Raptors as constricting bands, they suck. Use them to secure IV tubing. Route the tubing down the arm, wrap it around the thumb and route it back up, then secure the tubing with the raptor band about halfway up the forearm. Beats tape any day.

Hi, nice bag setup. Id like to ask you on your thoughts about oales bandages as replacement or addition to israelis? Also what did you use for transportation? (or is it medevac responsibility?)
thanks a lot for your reply! P.

Expiration dates are fairly arbitrary. DoD requires everything to have a 5 year expiration date. It doesn't necessarily have anything to Do with show long something rally lasts.

You know those mesh pockets are to store and secure your gear. Your selection and quantity of products makes me question whether you are a medically qualified person. Since you are carrying expired items, you are not military. Unless you're a licensed EMT or Paramedic, you do a cric or OS IV, you're going to jail. Good Samaritan laws will not protect you.

I'm a full Colonel, in the army 34 years. 11 years as an 91B (you may have to look that one up), 23 years as a physician. ER for over 17 years. Board Certified. 12+ years in special operations. Taught 68Ws and 18Ds for years. I could 'sharp shoot' this guy a little but what, exactly, is your point?!? He seemed pretty on point for a 68W and I'd say he did a pretty good job with the video. If you actually watched the video, he explains WHY his stuff is expired. 68Ws ARE licensed EMTs &/or paramedics (if they are 'advanced' medics). It sounds to me like you just wanted to make crappy comments. I hope you feel better about yourself.
