I have the same Ricoh that I bought in Toronto in 1979 . First venture off the Island on a Gulf Canada tanker ship...19 years old...great experience...
Hey Andy...Rodney here from Tims site. I restore/rebuild vintage Nikon F & F2 models. I did see that when you removed the lense, the foam light seal is completely deteriorated. Simple to fix, and I have a bunch of sheets to cut from. Bit of work to get the old seals out tho. Expect this in a 45+ yr old camera. My jewel is a mint condition Nikon F2 with motor drive completely restored. I also have a couple Minox-C cold war spy cameras, and cut my own 8x11mm film for them out of 35mm film rolls to this day. Great pocket camera that shoots film! BTW...PLEASE do not use a pocket knife to open battery cap! I cringed....
hey Rodney. This was just a barter toss to get some other radios. I would be more than willing to send all this camera /video gear to you if you would like it. It is stored in my shed and I have no room. It was a huge capture from an estate sale. I have a shelf of old tube AM radios, etc that need to find a new home. My collectables need to be slashed and there is plenty that needs a good home.
I took apart my Minolta and another used the lenses for a few projects and they eventually found a new home on someone's desk lol I love taking cool stuff apart
I just love anything old school. I have a lot of old school collected in my lifetime. I am soon gonna have to depart with some of it because my real estate has remained the same. lol
@@RestorationAustralia Cooool. That is a neat collectable for sure. I always have a eye out for old school stuff. I am unable to display the cameras I got so I am eventually going to sell hopefully as a package deal. thanks for dropping by and for your comments.
I believe the camera was purchased in the mid 1960's but I understand that it was sold for many years after. I have never used a manual focus camra. It does allow for better photo shoot control I guess but you got to have a keen eye to capture your subject well. It is incredible that folm is still being made for these cameras.
I have no idea my friend. I don't have any film to put into it to try and remove it. I think you wind it in and wind it out into the self contained canister???
Older film cameras are so cheap on ebay. Why oh why can they not produce an old style SLR made of metal with a digital cmos sensor in the place of 35mm film. Even modern takes on SLRs (DSLR) are all plastic.

Thanks for sharing. I enjoy vintage things so much.
I still have mine that I bought in 1980 at Fox Photo. They are nearly indestructible. Mine has the silver colored top instead of black.
Thanks for the information. Do you still use the camera?
@@Tobinindustrial Been a while since i used it. But last time i did it worked flawlessly. They're built like tanks.

Metal with some plastic overcoating
