- We took the Ricoh KR-5 SLR out for a whirl.
Neither of us have shot with this camera before so we were keen to see how it would perform. All in all we were really happy with the results. We used some standard Kodak Colorplus 200 film and pushed it 2 stops. It’s a super easy camera to use with the built in light meter working beautifully. A great first camera for people looking to start their journey in analogue photography.
Luke did NOT use this camera during this video, and we realised we never actually mentioned what he was using. Any guesses to what you think he used? Comment down below with your answer.
Big shout out the ‘Skears Photographic’ for letting us borrow the camera. Skears are our local camera shop here in Northampton. They are experts when it comes to all things photography. We’ve been going to them for some years now and they have been nothing but helpful and professional. We highly recommend.

Finally someone test the same camera I had. It's very reliable I think. Not because of the build quality (all plastic of course), or tons of functions, but that sheer simplicity. All mechanical, and the parts are just simple, easy to fix and very cheap. Imagine I used it with shattered top plates (the lightmeter and hotshoe weren't functioning anymore, and the viewfinder was full of dirt), but still delivers perfectly.
Could you possibly do a little introduction about the film camera and what each buttons are for or how to load it with film etc !! 😍 amazing work boys
Always down for watching photo walks to Lo-Fi beats. Keep em coming
Thanks Tom, appreciate that. We’ll keep me coming, don’t you worry.
The shots of the trollies 😍 Love those! The reds absolutely pop
Thanks Sophia. Genuinely honoured you like any of them! Ha.
Love the golden glow in these shots, really nicely balanced images
Liking the balance of stills, B roll & talky bits in this, good work guys
Some really gorgeous shots there! Really surprised by colorplus at 800! When color plus is finally available again i'll have to try that! :)
It’s always going out of stock at the moment isn’t it! I managed to grab 3 rolls off analogue wonderland last week, but I think it’s sold out again now
Solid images! Keep them coming ✊
Thank you mate. Appreciate it as always. We’ve got more coming, don’t you worry.
Great videos guys! Love the shots at 1:12 and 2:22 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Thank you so much! Appreciate that. 1.12 is one of my favourites
Great video! I recently got this camera and the film speed lock button is stuck on "press", is it still alright to shoot with it? Or will it affect my ISO not having effect on my photos? Thank you!
I’m not too sure what “press” is, but I’d say as long as you balance the light with an appropriate aperture you should be ok… worth putting a roll through to test!
@@FRONTPhotography Ah alright! Thanks so much!
❤️
I'm yet to shoot any film at night, I gotta sort that out
The struggle of chubby cheek shooters is real
Very real! Haha
@@FRONTPhotography I've got a huge beard to contend with too, I think I'm a masochist aren't I
A pearl before swine
