    Those Kymco scooters so underappreciated. Their design and build quality is 99% of a Japanese scooter, but at 2/3 the price, especially after about 2014 IMHO. They just need to do a better job of naming them.

      Haha, they definitely had some odd names! I recommend Kymco to anyone looking for a decent cheaper scooter.

    Metric to Imperial conversions are easy if you just remember two things. One fluid ounce is 30 ml/cc and one ounce of weight is 28.3 grams. If you write it on the wall behind your workbench, you'll always have it.

      @TomsTinkeringandAdventures  Před 9 měsíci

      Probably not a bad idea. The online conversion deal works great though.

    • @steverandall5814
      @steverandall5814 Před 9 měsíci

      True, but if you write it on the wall you can use it when your hands are covered in grease and grime. Just my 2 cents worth.@@TomsTinkeringandAdventures

      Sounds like you need to do a bunch of verification. I would start with cam timing, valve clearance, etc. Is the exhaust installed? I have had bikes that don’t want to run without exhaust.

    I picked up a Kymco Grand Vista 250 that has a "shudder" as it accelerates. I didn't know if it was "normal" for the scooter or not. Then, I saw another CZcams video where a lady is reviewing her Grand Vista and she mentioned that she has a shudder, too. Do you have any idea what could be causing that shudder? Could the rollers and/or clutches in the CVT need cleaning and greasing? Or, is that a normal operation for the type of transmission in a scooter? Do ya wanna know something odd about this scooter? When I get over 40 mph on my Yamaha XV535 motorcycle, I've got a death grip on the handlbars. But, I can run the Grand Vista scooter up around 70 or 80 mph and feel perfectly at ease. I still can't figure out why I'm scared on the bike but so comfortable on the scooter.

    • @TomsTinkeringandAdventures
      @TomsTinkeringandAdventures  Před 4 lety

      Mystery47 my scooter does have a low speed shudder as well. I took apart the front and rear sheaves but didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary. Pretty good machine overall.

      @@TomsTinkeringandAdventures -Well that's a relief knowing others are encountering the same "problem". Apparently it's the nature of the CVT beast. For awhile it had me scared that a wheel was coming off but when I checked everything was tight. I guess I can relax more now that I know it's not going to kill me. This Winter I will clean and lube those sliding parts on the CVT, though. Thanks for the quick response.
