- Marie Antoinette never said "Let them eat cake" but it's a Lady Gaga song, so we had to have that line! co-written by Christian Sylvester (original remake of the instrumental)

My ss teacher gave us hw on this song
lol the ending made Napolean sound like a badass.
He was! See the other video on him.
He was a 5'2 guy but he knew how to put fear in people and control
A leader is a dealer in hope. Napoleon.
I hate napoleon🤢
@@spillthecola2831 why?
They could've just shown us Viva la Vida in class, but the teacher insisted on this video
Between this and the Black Death Hollaback Girl parody, I'm pretty sure my AP world history teacher taught the entire curriculum with these videos. And I am not complaining.
I'm in 9th grade and we saw this video in class. Last year we saw the Gwen Stefani Black Plague song. These parodies are funny and they have really good information, too!
You should be.
I'm 9 years too late in discovering this gold :(
Ur not,alone,dude or sis
Same mang
@@coasterhockygamingboy9549 I'm really late

We watched this in history today we nearly cried laughing through all of it especially "we need our bread, bread bread bread off with he head" and "walk walk scaffold baby guillotine is going crazy"
Hey ! i replied because i just wanted you to see this old comment UwU
Honestly I love this parody. It's hilarious, I died laughing as well... and it's also surprisingly very accurate, for some reason.
3 years and still using this song to hook my students to the Revolution.... GOD BLESS YOU!!!!!
I prefer watching this than studying history using a book..
exactly! 😂😂
True
This actually happened and is still happening in the United States
***** Who is Donald Trump in Game of Thrones?

That awkward moment when you turn up to this song 😂👌
and have a whole dance party
In just less than 5 minutes, you'll learn everything about the french revolution.
Haahahahahaa my history teacher showed us this he said : In this song Lady Gaga sings about french revolution. ( His sarcasm is so advanced that we actually thought that he thought it was really lady gaga or he really think its lady gaga xD )
What a shame🤣
My teacher did the same thing
In my French lesson I saw this
Iwas still thinking it is lady gaga...now who is the actress then?
that awkward moment when your french teacher puts this song on and says its really good but then relises the sound broke so she said to look it up to here it herei am now
Same :) the whole class sang
we couldnt here it bcoz the sound wouldnt work i was gutted
Hahaha same for me
I like the song. She did a good job covering the main points in the French Revolution of 1789.
👍
Honestly, this slaps - LMAO. I love these historical parodies because they are pretty hilarious. And they successfully manage to sum up what happened in a nutshell...
this is my jam
do u have bread?
TheXXsloXX yes
yes, yes
My history teacher showed this to us haha she loved it 😂
Me 2 the people faces looked like this 😳
***** fuck off hater!

Hector Hand s/he wasn't calling you a hater. It was for the comment that came after yours :)
I feel stupid now :(
First French Revolution (1789-1815): Started with an absolute monarchy and ended with an absolute monarchy.
Second French Revolution (1830-1832): Started with an absolute monarchy and ended with the July Monarchy.
Third French Revolution (1848): Started with the July Monarchy and ended with Napoleon III.
Freshmen year world history

Chanyeol's Teeth I am 7th grade and I am learning this
Chanyeol's Teeth I live in USA
It is a very unique moment in history. One of the few times the so called "elite" got what was coming to them from their public.
My history teacher showed us to this because we needed a "brain break" and now I am completely in love with this song lol.
I can’t get this out of my HEAD
Nobody:
History teachers showing this in class:
im so obsessed with this parody. it bops so hard i wrote all the lyrics
😂 I died at "Eat my bread.... Bread bread bread off wth her head!.."
Nope, I need my bread
I thought it was bread bread bread
Unironically, this actually sounds pretty good - it's a whole bop. To add more to what I said earlier... and I don't normally even like historical parodies, lmfao.
I first heard this back in high school and that was three years ago. yet I keep coming back every now and agian to llisten to this song on youtube. it's just so catchy!
watched this like a couple years before i got fully into lady gaga and honestly it still goes hard
Listened to this in Ap European History. Their other videos are actually helping me study.
I sang this whole song as I took my French Revolution test
Got an 💯 😁
Yay💯👏🏼
Good job! 💯😊
Huskergal45 congrats

My French teacher showed my class this video back in 2012 when I was around 8 and I love it to this day.
NAH BECAUSE WHY IS IT SO CATCHY💀LIKE I DONT EVEN HAVE TO REWATCH THIS ONE MY OWN TIME ITS JUST SO GOOD
Let's take a moment to appreciate the level of lyrical genius she has 👏
My teacher showed us this today. Never forgetting it
As a French I can tell ...
This is true .
Especially the bread part

It looks like there is a party going on, the woman is having so much fun lol
right lmao
Je me suis bien amusé!
@@newaccountwhodis2484 he said this video is funny and present all the revolution (the most important).
And he said also that we should do a second revolution and use the guillotine a second time for ours politics.
All I can say is my teacher has great taste
Why is this unironically good, like my 8th grade socials teacher showed us this forever ago and now i'm adding it to my music selection
After watching this, my students no longer mind me teaching.
This became my favorite history song. When I was in 9th grade
My history teacher showed this to us today in class and one girl was bopping her head and shaking her body while listening to it in class😂
Who could blame her? This is a bop
This is the only reason I passed my AP Euro Test.
Then the level is really low
me too XD
@@davidrama5484 point blank periodt sis
Back after 7 years, still as good as I remember.
i actually like this more than lady gaga's version.
ikr
Ur true bro
My junior year history teacher showed this to the class 4 and a half years ago and it still pops in my head sometimes.
my last 2 braincells on the exam
this is gold
we watched this today and class!! (my teacher also taught me how to dance) :) lol
Vive la Révolution !! 🇫🇷🔴
I dislike infotainment, but this video is quite a stroke of genius nonetheless. Bad Romance, with it's dark techno-industrial beat and it's harrowing dread and doom voicing is a perfect backdrop for a theme as harrowing as the French Revolution. Kudos to whoever made this video, they deserve all the million and a half views of it.

It's cursed & is kind of hilariously bad, in a way xD... yet I have to agree. The song does fit the dark tone of the FR very well.
God fricking damn it my teacher showed my this junk 2 years ago and now out of nowhere when I was going to sleep I remembered bout that day, 12:53 am
Watched this for history today and taking a French Revolution test tomorrow.
hahahahhaaha now this song is our history assessment source

For history class group projects some kids did this for part of their presentation and I had bad romance stuck in my head all day because of them lol
13 years after it released its still being shown in year 12 history classes, iconic honestly
Watched this first in history today morning, can't stop listening to it, so catchy!
yea word this SOOOOO good
Who doesn't love Bad Romance? In French, a little, added bonus...
My french teacher showed us this and its stuck in my head forever thanks 😭
My history teacher made my whole class sing this song everyday. if you didn’t do your homework or you got in trouble he’d make us lead the class in the song. let’s just say I learned from my mistakes
This is one of my absolute favorite videos now. My history teacher showed this to us yesterday, and I'm still watching it even outside of class. I feel like a little bit of a nerd, but maybe that's because I am ;-) Who cares? This video is amazing, and I should be well prepared for our test!
In elementary school, you knew it was going to be a good day when you walked into the classroom and ur teacher was playing this ❤️
Here I am, 4 years later, watching a song parody about the French Revolution that I first saw as a sophomore in high school. Thank you Mr. Galanis, I hope retirement is treating you well.
We were learning aboit french revolution and we saw this song and can i just say THANK YOU it made hisyory actually not boring!!!!
My music teacher puts this on and I shout "I know dis"! 😅 awkward
Evelyn P wow 😂😂
oh to go back to listening to this during my ap euro class 😔
fun fact: 'let them eat cake' isn't actually said by marie antoinette, it was said long before she came to france. it was just associated with her by those who wanted her gone.
i know the video didn't say she's the one who said it but i just wanted to share :)
I might be 8 months late, but in the description it says: "Marie Antoinette never said "Let them eat cake" but it's a Lady Gaga song, so we had to have that line!" Have a nice day!
She didnt gone anywhere. Just her head and the rest separated their ways.
I lost it at the Marat reference at 2:55 XD
we watched it today in class
Teacher said if we learned this and sang it upfront of the class we’d get 5 extra points on our project, I’m not doing it but my friend is and it’s hilarious
I’m addicted to this kind of video...
My classmates and i watched it together and it was put by our History teacher. So good helps me remember more than expected!!!!
my teacher showed this to me 6 years ago and i still remember it
same!!!!! good old days lol

Stuck in my head, lovely song
This was quite enjoyable! I wish I could've showed this to my teacher four years ago :p

Cant get this out of my head since i heard it in ap world history
POV: your history teacher playing this for you and you like it
Why did my history teacher show me this 💀
Right? I thought it's just that our teacher is a bit special, but seems like many teachers showed this song to students, lol
This song brings me heavy nostalgia and I love it 😂

Ur voice is just...magical. I’ve listened to this thousands of times and I’m mesmerised by ur voice. I love this song
My teacher has played this song everyday we learned about the French Revolution 💀
