    RSPB recommends avoiding cutting hedges and trees during the main breeding season for , which usually runs throughout March to August each year. This can be weather dependent and some birds have two clutches if the weather and food is in their favour.

      Makes perfect sense, I didn’t realise that, my knowledge of birds is next to none! We visited a few years prior in April 2017 and it looked a lot neater back then though. Thanks for commenting, hopefully that helps out other people too 👍

    Another cracking video Rich 😀 And nice to see a warts and all review of a site rather than sugar coated. Nice one for sharing.

    Really in-depth review of the campsite, it does sound as if they opened in a rush without sprucing it up somewhat! Durdle Door has become infamous as of late with all the images of the packed beach and litter-dropping holiday makers, not the only place though unfortunately! Great video Rich, much appreciated👍

      It is annoying how disrespectful people are of the land. I have heard it say, if you take it there, you can take it home again. It is not difficult! Thanks for watching.

    I always go to Park Dean Sandford but will be going to Tom’s field next time as I find the large resorts very rundown.

    This review was really helpful - thank you. I have booked a night in one of the camping pods in June to split up my journey to St Ives and I always worry about the showers and toilets. It’s good to be able to see them beforehand 😊

      Glad you found it useful. If it helps, I received an email from them this week, when they said:
      "Customer feedback from last year prompted us to improve our shower facilities. We’re proud to provide a fresh, clean look for the 2021 season."
      So they should be better than the video showed!!
      Enjoy your trip, thanks for commenting

    A nice in depth tour and quite handy as we are going there this year. I am guessing the blocked sinks would be due to social distancing? The site we stayed on in the Isle of Wight blocked every other sink.

    • @drivinghorizons
      @drivinghorizons  Před 3 lety

      Cheers for commenting, the blocked sinks were actually "Plug hole" blocked, as oppose to 'taped off'. You are right though, we have visited a few sites where every other sink is taped off, so you don't get too close!
      Hope you enjoy your stay. The walk to Lulworth Cove from the site is well worth doing - czcams.com/video/OiPoltjyNtk/video.html

    Great review, thank you. Exactly what I was looking for. I wanted to get an idea of the pods (proximity to each other etc) and the toilets. I really wish these holiday parks didn’t cram everyone on top of each other like sardines, but I suppose it’s all about profit. Feels like you’re in an outdoor shopping mall.

      Thanks for the comment! It is important for me to show the places as I see them. Some may agree, some may not, but I am glad you found it useful! Thanks so much for watching 👍

    I stayed in a tent a number of years ago. It was so noisy with the birds (Rooks I believe) in the trees.
    I have a pop top campervan now and will look at going back.

      @drivinghorizons  Před 3 lety

      I think I should go back, perhaps when not as busy to enjoy the area a bit more. Have a great time when you go

      Don’t pitch in Abbeyfield under the trees though, the Rooks will poop ALL over your van and sunshade/awning!!!

  • @OldRaver

    That was invaluable. Really want to go here but nervous about SeaView pitch site cos of public access and lack of security there at night. (I thought it closed to public at 4pm or 6pm? 10pm is not great. Want to chill out having dinner not be in a busy dusty car park.
    But oh those views!
    How far to the loos? Is path lit at night?
    I definitely need bigger chocks!
    Were folks using breeze blocks? How can u get level safely?

    • @drivinghorizons
      @drivinghorizons  Před rokem

      I think if you went out of high season, it wouldn't be as much of a problem, I think we were there in July (I think). They were decent views though. It was about a 5 min walk I think to the loo's and yes I believe there was some lighting, but I am sorry I can't recall exactly for sure. Breeze blocks are bit dodgy, I admit!! Thanks for watching and commenting.

    Hello looking at going there with a camper and kids .is it only the wash area why you woukd not rush back there .is there a better camp site with pool ect in that are you can recommend

    • @drivinghorizons
      @drivinghorizons  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi Richard, I think we would return, but we enjoy trying out new places too much!! The washrooms were functional, just old and a bit dated. Some of the sites we have been to have really nice, modern washrooms in comparison. In terms of your other question, this is actually the only site we have been to in Exmoor, so I can't help with a recommendation I am afraid. Whatever you decide, I hope you have a great trip...Rich

      Perhaps I should have, but it was all very different. They were actually making everyone walk along the cliff top and down a different way. Some sort of one way system as it was immediately after COVID. I don't think you could get to any view point without going around the one way system. Definitely something to catch if we go back though 👍
