4:32-4:45 I don't know why, but I find it's pretty funny that Professor Oak just casually hanging out with Mew in the background when Jacq's talking about the Mythical Pokémon.
This explains a lot about the Mysterious Stones segment, and I like how you need to see both of these to get the full story. Volo’s goal doesn’t seem to have changed, but I still think this is going to end a bit differently than what most people might be expecting. I would imagine the writing team for this game already knows how this story is ultimately going to end, and attempting to put myself in their shoes for a moment, this could either end with Volo being redeemed or with someone teaming up with him. I don’t see anything like a Hisui Villain Arc coming from this, especially since most of those involved Team Rocket in some way and there’s no reason for them and Volo to be interested in each other.
I do think it's cute he apparently treats Togepi very kindly, with N's line about Volo's love for her.
That said, his line about "using others" does have me thinking that's to some degree an act on his part too.
My theory is that the reason why Togepi of all Pokémon is the one he brought with him was so he could try and let everyone else’s guard down. The fact that N of all people shows up in this event is very interesting, though. If anyone (besides Rei) is going to catch onto someone like Volo, it’s him (and possibly Reshiram, I suppose, given the whole truth and ideals thing).
@@bdt2002gamingIdk if he could have seen N's gift coming (like if he was watching N and Iris commune with Giratina and Dialga), but hoo boy, N just gave Volo's nice guy act more credence.
@@13CrystalHeart For now, this is true, but I would actually argue the opposite in the long run. N has no reason to be suspicious of Volo yet, but mark my words, whether it be himself, the legendaries, or Rei eventually, someone’s going to try and call out Volo’s bluff at some point. I think there would be some poetic justice in N calling Volo out once he’s made aware, as a reflection of N himself having been manipulated by Ghetsis before.
Don't forget about Giratina!!
If it met Volo, Cynthia will definitely catch on something as it's acting out. If N was also there when this happened, there's no way this could escape N's eyes as well.
These two may possibly the fastest ones learning about Volo's true colour (not counting Rei, who know it from the beginning), via Giratina.
It’s good to see finally we have proof that he DOES have at least one redeeming quality especially since it was implied earlier in Pokémon Legends Arceus with that photo he took with Togepi at the Photography studio. Yet sites like TV Tropes and Villains Wiki thought he was pure evil even though that isn’t true but then again they don’t know what they are talking about.
Love how it ends and immediately starts back up on the Mysterious Stones Chapter.
Can't wait for the 5th Anniversary.

This Volo was never defeated by ray I think.
I think this is a situation like Volo he is from the prologue of Arceus from when rei just entered the galactic corp(I think it's foreshadowed by the fact he uses Togepi and Gible which in the beginning uses them to battle rei)
Instead rei it's definitely from endgame so he already know volo's true nature.
This is the same that happened in this game with Rose and Oleana

6:51-7:07 Well this game confirms right there that Volo does treat his own Pokémon well since N can understand Pokémon as he reveals that his Togepi is well taken care of and is loved by Volo. N doesn’t lie about those things. What do you have to say to that TV Tropes and Villains Wiki? Is that really someone who is pure evil? I don’t think so.

Cyrus does as well but at least his plans doesn't necessarily include the destruction of the entire universe (people included), he only wants to remove emotions and spirit.
Volo wants to destroy it all, people and pokemon included.
@@sanmartinovallevictorjuven5187 Well not his own Pokémon at least. Besides their goals are still quite similar anyway so Volo’s goals don’t stand out as much. Additionally I am pretty sure both goals would mean a lot of people and Pokémon dying anyway regardless if it’s intended or not.

Interesting that they talked both about Mew and Arceus here especially with the debate which either is the origin of Pokemon...seems they say Arceus did create Mew while also implying Mew has the DNA of all Pokemon maybe even including Arceus like a backup IMO.
I also like that this story also confirmed that Reshiram was rescued after Ghetsis's retreat
I am glad for that.
I dont think ghetsis had the power to control reshiram and besides black kyurem was in front of him and his kyurem lost if he didn't return reshiram he would need to play a really tough bargain for his escape
That maybe a hint for the next main story. . .
Volo still has desire to defeat Rei
Issue is the villain arc concluded months ago. It’s impossible for there to be another one.
@@GoldRichness maybe put the same storyline like Legends Arceus does or might have a little from it. He might reveal his true nature at last like he did at Legends Arceus. I don't really sense Villain Arc anymore so. . . We probably have to wait more
@@AdamDialga yeah that’s the issue. I think Rei will catch on quick and figure it out.
Prediction: Rei will talk to his friends about this in private, as he won’t really know what else to do or who he can trust with this information. Meanwhile, N’s going to figure out naturally over time thanks to the Pokémon and because of his own experiences with Ghetsis having taught him what to look for. He knows exactly what it’s like to be manipulated, and Rei and N will eventually be able to connect over this common factor. From there, once the dust settles Volo will either A. never be seen on Pasio again thanks to Arceus, or B. have some redemption arc put in place for him.
I think Pokemon Masters will try to redeem Volo just like what they did with Maxie/Archie/Cyrus/Lysandre. Heck when the inevitable Sinnoh Outfit Volo and Origin Giratina came, I can see the Giratina being the same individual as "Cynthia's Giratina" that wanted to help their old friend to form a new path...

There needs to be an irredeemable pure evil villain whose name isn’t Ghetsis. (Giovanni doesn’t count he isn’t as evil as Ghetsis)

There have been hints he cares about his Pokémon, since for example in the photography studio he took a picture with his Togepi even though he had no pragmatic reason to do that. Besides TV Tropes and Villains Wiki don’t know what they are talking about calling him pure evil. Plus Togepi and at least one other Pokémon he has evolves through friendship and that can’t really be faked.

He is still as evil, but he’s more psychotic than deranged.
Besides, if he does actually love his pokemon, why does he say to himself what he says at the end of the event? “Forming a bond is about using others before they use you” or something like that. It’s a contradiction.

I still maintain Volo is pure evil. Giratina isn’t, Giratina reforms and stops Cyrus.
The wiki doesn’t list Ghetsis as pure evil, only near pure evil (because he hasn’t done enough evil things on screen apparently) even though you and I can both agree Ghetsis is pure evil. So if Ghetsis is apparently not pure evil, by that logic Volo is pure evil, even though he’s a lot more tame than Ghetsis. (If the two ever met though… would they try to destroy each other or work together?)

Well he could be since he said no matter how many years decades or even CENTURIES he would continue to try and conquer Arceus this implies that somehow he found a way to become immortal. After all no normal human can live more than one century (in years) so why would he even say it in the plural sense?

togepi evolved the Norma way with the trust of volo unlike ghetsis hydragon togepi cannot evolve without the trust of others that take care of him or is in an environment that allows a safe evolution
