It could be fun if we could be rejected and not match on the app, if the other sims try to date us while they are commited. It could create drama, but we know this game is not like this, we will match with everyone and have the perfect date just because we complete the goals we choose ourselves.

I mean, it's COMPLETELY different, so IDK how you're getting 'wedding stories'. It's about turn ons/offs, dates, and attraction and romance. Wedding stories...was about weddings. And that's it. The pack may be small and lacking gameplay, but it's nothing like My Wedding Stories.

I think we're always gonna get food stalls instead of restaurants coming in the other packs until simmers stop getting upset at the idea of features being repackaged in other packs to make a more connected game
honestly even just adding restaurants in other packs that you could only dine at and not run and then a refresh on dine out so it's more like Carl's reloaded mod would be so much better

I agree with you. Literally the cycle you described will happen. Specifically the "choose what to do on your date" looks a LOT like the "choose what to do at your wedding" and that freaks me out. This is likely going to be a glitchy mess.

Imagine if they did a "Back to the Past" and created a pre-electric world with medieval, Regency, and Victorian stuff so you could do a historical game. When first entering the world, you set choose the period and townies dress appropriately. New death type: plague. Cell phones are converted to notepads and instead of calling, you tear off a sheet of paper and drop it in a nearby mailbox. Very soon after, a messenger pops up and delivers a reply letter.
But that would be too much work.

I thought the same thing, "where is the gameplay?" Its crazy to me that the last expansion pack is still broken while a new one is about to come out. I want to be excited for lovestruck but so far it seems like a game pack not and expansion pack.

99.999% those dumbbells will be decorative, despite the fact that there are functional from CCs and mods...
I'll wait for the play testing and bug hunt to run at least a few months before considering getting that pack.

Oh my god, adding a mid-life crisis thing or something like that would work for this expansion pack too. Just a sim having a crisis and before starting dating they just want to go back in shape to boost their confidence but body positivity is so overdone in TS4 so they would never do it lol...well not to mention a single workout session will turn my Sim into a hulk.

Considering it appears they merely reused the holidays events system for the new dating system, there better be a whole lot of content missing from this trailer because this is barely a game pack's worth of content.
Fun fact: every one of my failed relationships included kissing on the first date. The one that has lasted the longest is the one who stood me up the first date. They have been making up for that mistake for years with no end in sight.

sometimes i wonder when the sims player community will stop being blind and actually demand sum changes or quit playing this game. Only then developers and share holders would even consider doing something about it. Until that "revolution" we will continue having this buggy, glitchy, half empty world experience, time after time, plus knowing that they freezed Sims 5 for now...

Every Sims 4 'game trailer' just makes me fall more in love with the Sims 3.
I was literally thinking about playing Sims 3 while watching this. One of my Sims has a long distance university girlfriend she's been wanting to invite home for a date and the other sim wants to go to France. Sounds a lot more fun than anything Sims 4 will ever put out lol
This is The Sims 4: My First Romance stuff pack, what worries me more, is that a lot of the UI and relationship dynamic features are reused from My Wedding Stories and Growing Together. My Wedding Nightmares was a disaster to begin with so what are the chances this pack is going to work well? To be fair, since a date is only two sims, there might not be as many problems with interactions, but it's recycled content and a few new animations which appear to barely make up a game pack. This really looks like it could've been put with My Wedding Stories as a general romance expansion pack, but don't fret, sometime in the future, they'll put those two together in a bundle with Romantic Garden Stuff so you can save a little money 🥳💀
1. This is predictive programming for the Sims 5. They want us to get used to the idea of other peoples Sims in our games.
2. The reason they started calling GAME packs EXPANSION packs is because they know we only buy them 1/2 price anyway. So, they end up only doing a game packs worth of effort, can get expansion pack prices. And when it goes half off, still get the game pack price, which is how much it was worth in the first place. They’re marketing geniuses.

This, they're essentially selling Game Packs at Game Pack prices, but you pay double the amount for "Early Access".
It's genius because they get the increased sales volume of game packs, as well as the higher profit margins of expansion packs.

Seriously, I love the other simmers I follow, but I come to satch for the reminders that the sims needs to be better. It's helped me not spend money and I'm hoping more simmers can learn to hold them accountable for their shitty business model.
Yeah.. there are already mods that do all of this and more. The ones I use have a physical attraction system, one night stands, friends with benefits, etc. So basically this is $40 for a tiny new world with rabbit holes.. no thanks.

We’ve really reached the bottom of the barrel with the sims 4. All of the recent expansion packs have been nothing more than UI updates that should have been base game updates. To name a few: building apartments, proper infant gameplay, social bunny. Now what we’re essentially getting as gameplay is a dating app and updated UI to pick what happens on your dates.
In my opinion none of these actions should be locked behind the paywalls of an expansion pack. None of the worlds or cas/BnB items should be seen as a justification to sell the expansion packs for as much as they do, especially when free CC exists.
I just truly find it so crazy people defend this greedy behavior from EA and take it personally when we call it out.

I think the Sims 4 team have lost focus on what an expansion pack is. I think packs like this, wedding stories and high school years give features that we can play pretend with already as opposed to actually expanding them gameplay.
I can already go on dates and make a story with just the base game. Like gym dates, dancing dates, woohooing, hookups, leaving a date early etc. Get to know date vs a romantic date. We can already do this.
It just feels they are giving actual gameplay to things we already can do.

Anyway, jokes aside, I totally agree with the rest of this. Gross that there was no gameplay in the “gameplay” trailer - probably because it just seems like a game pack’s worth of gameplay that should have been included in the base game. I grew up with TS1 and then TS3, but I’ve been watching TS2 gameplay videos, and I am just so shook by how vastly superior it was to the rest of them in terms of gameplay mechanics and interactions. Lovestruck just feels like it’s bringing back some TS2 mechanics (like turn ons and turn offs) and a few other features. We’ll see what it’s like when it actually launches, I guess, but I will just be experiencing it vicariously through CZcams rather than paying $40.

i don't like these expansion packs that have "hidden" gameplay, like, for example, Growing Together. i like that it changes your game and it gives more depth to your sims characters, but i feel that it could be a base game update. like just put that app and those relationship features in the base game... it's not enough content to be an expansion pack or even a gamepack tbh, execpt of course there is a new world, cas items and furniture, but that's not enough for that price

There was so much room for creativity and fun and this was the most soulless pack I've seen lol. Like.. For the tinder app you just AUTOMATICALLY go on the date with whoever you choose? Why couldn't they have done like a "request" date? Then your sim could be rejected or accepted and get moodlet buffs??? It would add storytelling. Like that is just one idea and I thought of just now while pooping. The Sims team has been phoning it...
I like the idea of "get to know" date, it just make sense to me and I honestly don't think they created it just to look "woke"
for example imagine when you go on a first date irl sometimes you don't what the vibe is going to be so you don't want to do super romantic shit, you just want to share a good moment and see if the vibe is there, kiss or not it doesn't really matters in this scenario,
then you have 2 choice: you don't go on a second date or you go to a second date and feel more confortable to do a truly romantic date this time
so it feels kinda realistic to me

Officially another pack I could never justify getting and I know it's still going to sell extremely well regardless.
1. yes the microphone is basegame, you get it for free if you choose the entertainer career, and become a comedian. Johnny Zest, has a microphone in his trailer house.
2. Of course we don't get hotels, in a pack about love. If we ever get hotels, it will come in a Hotel pack. Come on now, we know the sims team by now. They are turning everything they can into a seperate pack, so they can get more money.
3. I don't trust those "livestreams", because they are pre-recorded now. They are not actually live. They can easily edit out any big bugs.I will watch it too, but I do not trust it, if they once again, actually arent live.

Here's what we wanted: new venue types, live play hotels, and GAMEPLAY from the GAMEPLAY trailer. Here's what we got: same old venues, another rabbit hole and a dating app that basically works like party/event planning tools already in game. I was really anticipating having a Latino world in game, but I didn't see any gameplay related to cultural aspects of that world. The blanket, board game, strawberries, fountain, and cosplay box look like fun additions. Couldn't they have a matchmaker career? More dating types in the app (hook up, meet the family, group date, etc?) A new "woohoo party" event using some of those new costumes? An aspiration to be a home-wrecker, baby daddy, or sugar baby? Traits for machismo, cheater or monogamist, or the five love language types? Venue types like a singles club, an actual romantic restaurant, a beach festival (Carnival)? This pack seems very superficial.
The new necklace almost looks like one of those “choking” necklaces lol
