      Gord was a huge, HUGE fan of Feist. I'd argue while, yes, nobody could ever replace Gord in a million years, if they ever do another of their songs and it needs a singer it can only be Feist, she's the only person Gord would ever approve of and really the only one since Gord's passing that could even make any sense and work with the emotions of their catalogue.

    • @nadionmediagroup
      @nadionmediagroup Před 7 měsíci +4

      I think you are right about Leslie, for sure. Gord was a fan and a friend.
      I’d suggest that Sarah Harmer is the only exception to the “Feist Rule” - if it fit the song, Gord would approve & the band would play it.
      I only ever expect one offs - there is no *new* version or anything. It’ll be for something they care about, like the Kids Camp.

      I will have a difficult time hearing the boys the same way without his contribution, and I am sure I am not the only one who would dig it hearing them mixing around other Canadian vocalists ... whatever, its ok to not feel the same ... thats why we live in Canada ... that AND the fact that I was lucky enough to be born here ... and not almost anywhere else.

    Pretty emotional. I think of how Gord Downie would just like to still be here. He was a young person. Leslie Feist is wonderful. I think of her eyes and mouth behind the mic in front of the Tragically Hip, where Gord Downies eyes and mouth had been for so many years. What a privilege! She was fully endorsed by the band! Who else could be? No one!

    I kept wondering who could be a suitable replacement for Gord, and Leslie Feist just answered the question. Such a great voice. I hope they collaborate more. So good.

    This has always been my favorite hip song because the album came out when I was in highschool when I first got into the hip. The fact that this was the song they chose is joyous and devastating at the same time. Made me cry.

    These men came to form one if the most meaningful bands in my lifetime!
    Their music is lingering, meaningful and heavy.
    Thank you so much..... Gord, Robbie, Gord, Paul and Johnny.
    In my eyes, there will never ever be another stage presence with as much passion, intensity and love.
    I would give anything to see this band back together with Leslie leading on vocals.
    Thank you for so many great Canadian lyrical and musical masterpieces.
