- Our new Hymer Campervan has finally arrived and we are straight off to Europe to learn all about it. It took two years to decide what to buy and once we had decided, we had to wait a few months for it to be ready, but now it is here, we have wasted no time in loading up and getting on our way to Europe. We have no fixed plan set, and will follow our noses to see where we end up...

So Who are Campervan Journey?
We are JT, Harry, Claire, Sam and Ben, oh and Hunny the Dog. We discovered campervanning in 2015 when we bought our first Volkswagen T5 Combo after seeing many at our favourite campsites. We were staying with our tent, and dreaming that one day we would have our own Campervan. After much research, we bought and converted our own T5 Kombi to suit our requirements, check out the video on the channel. We soon discovered that owning a Campervan is a way of life and it is not just about amazing trips round Europe, it’s as much about great days out and family time…
We have been lucky enough to visit some amazing places with our van, many of which we know we wouldn’t have seen if we had not owned it. They instil a sense of adventure and where shall we go into your life.
After 3 years with the T5, we upgraded to a Volkswagen T6 California Beach, our current van, and we continue to enjoy travelling and visiting some amazing places. You can check out our latest videos and adventures here on the channel !

It's been a long journey of deliberation after hiring VW Campers from various companies and testing them on holidays over the years, but we have decided to opt for the Ocean. Yes ! 🎉it is so exciting to upsize glad you finally got what you needed , we did similar this year with vw bilbos t6.1 to a fiat Ducato twin supreme slb 6.4 metres the space makes a much more comfortable camping experience , have a great time! ( that dealer is good we had a eriba caravan before our vw and went there for an eriba owner meet and they hosted us at the dealer laid on food etc quite a long time ago now but the Hymer brand is good !)
Yes we are very pleased with the move so far, we had some heavy storms a few days ago and it was SO much easier not being in a smaller van and with a tent. The guys at Leisure First have been great so far, would definitely recommend them 👍

Hi Rob! Yes, it’s the same bike rack from the Cali and the doors just open with mm to spare, it’s tight but it works!

@@CampervanJourney we were there ourselves 12 hours ago! We spent the first week at Marseillan near Montpellier and the second week at lake Annecy. Annecy was awesome this time of the year, great weather, stunning views and lots of activities to do.
@@ChrisTyley-wq5fd Sounds like you had a great trip, we must get to Annecy soon on one of our trips, we always seem to drive past on the way to somewhere else ! I haven't been as far south as Montpellier, I bet it was hot ?

Yep! all the timings worked out so we either went straight away or left it till later in the year when the weather would have turned, so we decided to just go!

Beautiful. We are interested in swapping our Ocean for a Hymer. Do you think a pull out bike rack in the back and I could not see air con as an option - so guess need to add that after market I guess?
Thank you, you might have room for a single bike inside if that’s what you mean, it would probably work better on a longer chassis than ours. I don’t know if separate air on is an option without checking the Hymer website. Ours does not have it and it has been over 30C here in France and we have coped so far. Maybe you could get it fitted by a specialist ?🤔

Thank you ! Anything of this type from a wide range of manufacturers start around £80,000 plus depending on specification. The cheap vans from a few years ago have long gone...
Hey new sub here that is a beautiful van, just one question what made you choose a van rather than motor home, we always get excited when we see people going on the euro tunnel and hopefully get to do it ourselves soon, stay safe and happy touring.
Thank you ! Welcome to Campervan Journey! It’s all about practicality, parking etc. We have limited space at home to park, a motorhome would not fit. We have also replaced a VW California which we used as our main family vehicle so any new van needed to offer some of that versatility! There are loads of videos on the channel all about our travels and why we think buying a Campervan is one of the best things you can do ! Cheers JT

Hi ! Thank you ! It’s the Hymer Free S600 Campus, based on the Mercedes Sprinter. We are really enjoying the benefits over our old California Beach.

And they had a local designer draw them up. We are really pleased with them, there is a lot of grey paint and we wanted to break it up a bit. Cheers JT
