Also please don’t comment on this making it about you. This video is about the 5 people I chose for this. Please just show them live and appreciate their work. Not everything needs to be a “wait, what about me” moment.
As a black female photographer who is just now finding her voice and what she wants to say with her work, I really appreciate this. I listen to your podcast often and watch your videos here on youtube and really deserve your flowers bro. You did work this year and it did not go unnoticed.
Thank you for opening with a Black female photographer. Felt good to be introduced to someone new & be acknowledged for the challenges we face as a creative
Mike Gray's most recent project with the historical moments has been some of my favorite art in general lately. killer photographer and awesome guy. keep spreading the love man
Thank you for highlighting these incredible artists! I’m always excited to experience an artist and their work I haven’t seen or felt before! Love this📷💙
Thanks for putting me onto such great talent. Sherm’s work is the only one I was familiar with prior to this. All photographers in this video truly are nice with lens
Vuh this has gotta be one of the best videos on CZcams about film photography. Opening up the audience to a wider community and not gate keeping is something I fully stand by! And you chose a great line up of photographers to represent this. Great stuff mate
Happy New Year homie. Started shooting in March after all the ish, you basically got me into photography tbh. Appreciate you sir, definitely my favorite photographer of 2020.
Great stuff Vuhlandes - you opened one old white British guys eyes to some great photographers I wouldn't have otherwise stumbled across - much appreciated!
Yessir! Mike Gray is up next I swear! I got recommended his videos like a month ago and have been a big fan since. Following all these other people now too.
Your thumbnail looks like mine on my most recent video lol. Great minds think alike!! And I respect the fact that you don’t want to be a gatekeeper and you’re about just showing dope people!!! Love the people you picked!
Thank you for highlighting these great photographers. I look forward to seeing more of these episodes from you...a great photographer in your own right.
Hey man, not related with this video but i just find about you through the Willem´s interview and your work is really inspiring! Love your documentary style. The authenticity really shines on your pics. Keep it up!
I just thought about it, there aren't many black photographers promoted on CZcams. I only know Photo-me-ike and I came across his video by clicking, not promotion.
You guys should check out Joe Geer if you haven’t already and love the Kodak Portra look (he does it amazingly imo). Allan Schaller has amazing black and white street photography images for that crowd as well. Love your list Vul! Hope this series continues.
Man this is so dope bro. This is really great. More love and more power to you and to all of these amazing photographers and their work. You think this would be something you'd do every year whenever you can? I love stuff like this.
super cool video ! I actually discovered your channel through a very similar video from another creator on youtube who was shouting people out and haven't looked back since . i fuck with the channel and podcast, much love from the bay area ca stay safe stay healthy
Yo Vuhlandes. Love the videos bro, keep at it. Check out my homie OJ. Based in Chicago. He's a very talented photographer and has been grinding hard. He is ojcore on IG. Peace brother.
I really like the aesthetic of your photography and a lot of your videos are awesome. However, your obsession with skincolor and gender is becomming tiresome. Why this division in to "the black experience" by "those who are unrepresented"? Why not just "the human experience"? When I see you I do not see a "black photographer", I see a photographer who happends to be black. I am not saying you (or anyone) should deny their "blackness" or "whiteness", but do not limit yourself to it. (BTW a fantastic photographer that everyone should take a look at on IG is Prince Gyasi)
Maybe you mean well, but not seeing a Black man's blackness isn't the way to do it. There's a book all about why: Eduardo Bonilla-Silva, "Racism without racists: Color-blind racism and the persistence of racial inequality in America," 2017.
@@ZachThom9 maybe just sit this one out, bud? Not being black means we don’t get to tell the black community how they support and speak about each other and you sound like an absolute ding dong.
It’s kinda wild that you’d even feel comfortable commenting this cause it just shows how ignorant and selfish your thinking is. I am black... commenting on that and uplifting my community isn’t “limiting myself” considering white people have been doing the same thing since the day of time. Could’ve kept this to yourself but it bothered you sooo much? Why? You are not allowed to tell me what I can and can’t speak on what I can and can’t feel. I never said these women were good for being women. You hear what you wanted twisted my words and got uncomfortable in your skin. This comment is actually disgusting, but you’re too ignorant to see that. Don’t watch my videos just join the other people that dislike my videos because you hate that I’m black
@@ZachThom9 Until you accept that your current core value of "universality" is a principle of whiteness and colonialism, there will be no progress in addressing your colorblind racism and white fragility.
Also please don’t comment on this making it about you. This video is about the 5 people I chose for this. Please just show them live and appreciate their work. Not everything needs to be a “wait, what about me” moment.

Why is it difficult for a black photographer? The work speaks for itself! Outstanding!
I just thought about it, there aren't many black photographers promoted on CZcams. I only know Photo-me-ike and I came across his video by clicking, not promotion.
@@erik3205 yea it’s hard period. The industry hasn’t been open to black photographers. But lately it’s been changing which is great!
@@BrittneyJanae I'll just have to dig through the comment section on smaller channels and find new people that way.
@@erik3205 Maybe there are not so many black photographers with CZcams channels and large numbers... Spread the word!
This is GREAT!!!
