Totally doable, in my opinion. I don't know any by name, but I'm pretty sure there are screensaver applications out there that support playback of media files and formats like mp4. I even turned this into a wallpaper for a while using Wallpaper Engine.
I love old retro green screen computers ............ to bad they were all trashed at the landfill sites. I have one old labtop with green screen.......but the 50 other retro computers I have are from 1995 on up to 2006. And one trash bin find which was a 2016 ACER which needs a graphics card yet. Rebuilding these computers, just for fun.
Quite appropriately, the script was called Hollywood, as best I can recall. Or sometimes referred to as Hollywood Hacking, I think. Very likely still out and about there!
Ah, I wish! This was just a simple bash script I found online, looking fancy through the retro terminal emulator. I briefly thought about trying to make my own, but there's a lot to learn before getting there.
This particular one was running in Ubuntu, but I believe both the Hollywood script and cool-retro-term are good for running on most popular linux distros, without any issues.

That's wonderful! It really captures the 80s Ridley Scott aesthetic brilliantly. I want a 10 hour version of it!
I've been listening to this non-stop. If you made a channel with just this retro ambient sounds and visuals you'll be on the moon my friend.
Impressive graphcs, thanks for it.
Why would anyone dislike this!!!
I want this as a screen saver, badly!

Hollywood style, that cracked me.

love this! curious what bash script you used to achieve this look (w/ the emulator)?

@@LockStockRocket thanks so much!
Hey man! This is cool! I was thinking of making a short film. Would you be able to make custom retro computer content?
