- HermitCraft Season 8 has begun! We begin our new adventures pirating and treasure hunting with Iskall. Beef gets recruited to help me clear our first raid for a saddle. Horses are great... really! (please buff Mojang) Then we get down to caving and collecting some resources for the new base we have planned.

Etho playing with a group he's close with is ethos best content. I love his energy and excitement when playing with friends. I've been around since before mindcrack, and these series, where he just plays with some friends, are the best and happiest moments and I cherish watching these

I couldn’t stop smiling throughout this whole video. Etho seemed so happy and excited and I can’t wait for more! Season 8 came quicker than I expected it too but it already seems like it’s going to be amazing!
I haven’t watched Etho in quite a few years since I was little, and this video was recommended to me. Etho sounds a ton happier..Which is real baffling , yet makes my heart warm. Congrats to season 8 Etho!

The ugly brick thing is an important addition to any base and needs careful consideration & planning. It cant simply appear at the start of a build.

I like how you called it the "Shattered Savanna" and it got me thinking: what about a base that looks like it got broken apart by whatever made the land look like that? I think it works with your riptide idea as well, have some broken water pipes or something near each break that are spilling water into a pool that you can use to riptide to another section of the base

It seemed like you really went out of your 'zone' Season 7, inadvertently creating an entirely new zone and we could all tell you were having a lot of fun along the way.

@@frankgrimes7388 Well Etho is also known for not finishing projects, maybe a bit undeserved as all idea's and projects are so wild and big for 1 person and he stays on the same world for so long (With the LP having over 400 (451 episodes as of now) episodes on the current world in almost 10 years (just 3 a bit over 3 months shy) damn) So yeah he is always reminded of unfished projects even years after he stopped working on them. As the world doesn't move on and so people are reminded everytime they pass it. And despite having completed so much and having gone beyond the initial scope (or at least the initial plan once the building commenced, as Etho probably has been over ambitious a lot with his amazing and grand idea's.
But yeah Etho isn't the best at finishing projects (although his reputation for it might be a bit undue) (Cries in the memory of the flood that was yearly Battlebane video as it has been over 3 years now since the last episode. But wait Battlebane is actually finished, never saw Etho play it though. :(. But the Nexus surely will never be completed after all these years I hear you say, ah you are wrong it has now been finished for over a year now on episode 544 (which is 12 episodes ago so 1 a month :( ), the perfect horse though and,...
So yeah in short a lot of things might remain unfinished for a long time but in reality stuff does get completed, although it might long after everybody beside etho has “given up” on it ever getting done.
Anyway, just thought it was a funny reply so I apparently decided to “overanalise” it accuse etho of the same thing as you accused Iskall to later defend him from my own accusations.

Etho's horse is def a 4 stick horse.
Horses are the best early game transport, just build some bridges over the rivers and cut a few roads through forrests and all the flat biomes like deserts, plains, and savanna just become instant highways with basically no effort.
The only thing close is boats and the ocean.
With the goat of tranport being blue ice nether boat roads of warp speed.

I'm excited to see you keep horses and riptide tridents in mind as you build this season! IMO the elytra overshadows these and removes the interesting logistics of transportation so not relying on one as much will be very fun!

The shattered savannah is one of my favorite biomes, especially since it reminds me of the old days of minecraft world generation. This season's gonna be awesome!

So excited for the new season Etho! You should become the traveling interviewer. Once in each episode you could take your diamond clad steed to one of the other hermits and ask them the most random interview question and then ride off into the sunset ;D
I hope the hermits collaborate and make pathways between the different settlements for all the hermits just to join everyone up. It would be quite fitting for the island, albeit not a practical use of everyone's time I guess...

I agree it could be cool. But they'd never use it, unfortunately, since they'll all have elytra before it's even remotely finished. So I expect it will never happen; elytra put a complete stop to endgame players like the hermits building infrastructure for travelling between locations in the overworld. Not like there was much before, because nether portals eventually lead to the same condition of much faster travel being possible through other means than roads or canals. Remember last season Etho build an ice road underground connecting people's bases? Not used past him originally creating it.

I love to see more Etho senanigans in this season too. Shady-e-e’s was my introduction to this channel and I loved it. Anyways always have fun Etho. Also try to find a way to challenge yourself. Last season’s base was great because you kinda did a challenge to use every block in the game for your base.
Check some other series of etho and you will see that he always challenges himself with every new episode or series. This man seems simply impossible to not be creative or do new things, just look at his series he doesn't go for most profits building and selling stuff from farms that made mad bucks. No he always tries something new focuses on obscures things that have changed or he hasn't dabbled in (in a while).
So yeah no need to tell him as it really is wat he does, and is also one of the main reasons all his videos are so good. As all of them are different and so are worth watching, I always learn some stuff or see things in a new light even if he spends multiple episodes on the same build, and it's always entertaining. So yeah Etho always evolving despite staying so true to his base principals means so many people keep on watching and watch every episode of the series they follow, despite having stopped playing minecraft years ago. Having grown up, with changing views and interested.
People who enjoyed Etho years ago will often still find todays Etho interesting and worth their time. And find him refreshing yet familiar despite how much his videos have changed and improved the idea and feel behind it has stayed the same.
So yeah I really really like Etho and think he is not only one of the best yt'ers but just content creators in general. His approach does mean a lot of work though for every video, so less content but that's always the case with quality reducing quantity.
Also loved Shady-e-e's thought it was one of the best ideas in a while, such a nice theme and so wickedly sneaky. Being such harmless trolling that nobody can be angry at Etho despite it being such infuriating and annoying trolls. But you have to stop and marvel at the ingenuity and dedication of the prank and experience how annoying it is. Despite nothing of it being lethal or even damaging. The Sneak-e-e's Shulkerbox sky shop to avoid road taxes was also just pure genius.

Ethos is the original hermit that brought me to hermitcraft been watching for years now. Still one of my favorites and I'm excited to see what kind of Redstone craziness him and Iskall come up with. Gonna be a good season. I'm sure they could bring Mumbo into some projects too.

After watching Grians perspective. Etho literally found the end dungeon by accident with the underwater geode
The shattered savanna is prime for some lore, houses built support on cliff faces, levers and pulleys and bridges, the INFRASTRUCTURE of the biome integrating with the verticality and shatteredness. Maybe you NEED a trident to get to places, and maybe eventually there's some elytra launchers to get you from one place to another.
For item transportation you've GOTTA try using minecart chests for loading and unloading. Like building a fully automated system transporting shulkers. The items from the skelly spawner being transported by bubble column -> minecart chests -> unloading station/item sorter -> minecart shuffling to get things going on the correct tracks in the correct directions, rail systems spiraling up huge stone columns. Maybe at sea level you can have a pirate trading bay!
For the general populous of S8 i think it would be amazing for people to all build sky bases, like steampunk airships, this biome seems a prime place for a Mortal Engines/Guns of Icarus dock/hangar bay/hub with it's verticality.
Maybe there can be some type of arcane element in the biome, like floating rocks chained down, the whole area is an unstable magic zone, maybe your enchanting center is actually suspended over a massive drop into a scary dark ravine, maybe you have little redstone slime block launcher traps or transportation infrastructure for visitors.
I love the A-Frame roof style iskall teased in that little building, I think it really fits well with the savanna biome and you should definitely push that theme the whole way.
Make the whole biome a piecemeal civilization! Invite one more person (Beef!) to live there! The more the merrier!
And one final request- you've gotta engineer some kind of zipline haha.
Most of all I am looking forward to the interactions between hermits, especially between Hermits whom we see interact rarely. It would be interesting for example to see Ethos dynamics with Zedaph or Joe, and I would love to see more interactions between Etho and Cleo after getting some of it in 3rd Life.
Maybe Mumbo as well, they never really spoke in a video.
I half expected to see the finale of season 7 today. Just like when everyone was uploading the 3rd life finale and he uploaded hermitcraft.
He really has a way of playing with our expectations haha
