I have a feeling this thing is going to be faster than they think. I think it’s going to run mid 7s very quickly, and be knocking on the door of 6s real fast. It is insanely light and looks like it has big tires back there. I hope Kyle is ready. I’m excited to see it.

We don’t really know much about who built it or what kind of job they did. For all we know, they were pros, and this thing is built to go 6s day one.
It's a tube chassis but it's no double frame rail chassis or anything like that. I doubt it will cert very well like it sits. Hopefully they improve on it a bit..No expert here just voicing my opinion..

I don't know about the drag and drive 2j vs. LS. Seems like the LS would be the better choice but I guess if you're going to try and WCF and other events 2J is the best choice

I think it's a good choice to go with a 2J. It will surely be lighter than a LS and still make good power. Ive been watching ,waiting and wondering about this roller ever since you bought it. I'm glad to see this build finally.
Unless he does a billet block the 2j is heavier than an aluminum LS. Personally I was more excited for the LS but the 2J is ok. Just happy it isn't a rotary.
Its a common misconception that aluminium block ls engines are lighter than 2jz's there not at all. The ls3 is the same weight or heavier (engine trim dependant) all other ls engines are heavier. They quite litterally have an entirely extra head compared to the jz lol.... that along with extra headers ect negates the weight difference between the aluminium and the iron. Most complete 2jz engines weigh in at about 420lb no higher than 430lb most ls engines start at 440-460lb complete and get heavier dependant on trim

Crazy how times move on, right 🤣 In the mid 90's 25-30psi was jaw dropping stuff on racecars & the rare few road cars that were brave enough to risk the equivalent of playing hot potato with live grenades. Now... everybody has 25 psi and the party starts at 40-50psi.
that was pretty good back then for sure. I got a stick shift '04 PT Cruiser GT for $500 and put a 3" catless downpipe, HKS BOV and a DiabloSport tuner (91 octane tune) and i was very surprised that it ran a 14.1 at 102mph. I only bought it to do an SRT-4 swap into a 1st gen Neon coupe originally.

Hell yea boys. I called i had a hunch he was going with a 2JZ. This Honda RWD 2JZ build series is bout to be straight 🔥. Im definitely looking forward to seeing the 2JZ RWD tube chassis Honda transform into a rolling shell to an absolute drag monster.
You should definitely do a collab with Jay from RealStreet when you go to tune the Civic. He's one of the most knowledgeable on the 2J platform and he's been building, tuning, and driving land speed 2J's for a while. He'll for sure get you a reliable 1600 hp that'll get you where you need to go and continue getting you there for those drag and drives
I definitely recommend an engine plate and mid-plate anytime you exceed 700-800hp to locate the powertrain and keep it where it belongs. I also recommend building a tube structure around the mid-plate and tying it into the main cage and dash bar to spread the torque load better. Feel free to stop by CJ race cars and I can show you what I'm talking about, Cameron can probably shed some light on engine placement as well for the turbo setup y'all plan on running. Awesome build ya got going, I can't wait to see what ya do with it.

Let’s gooooo!!!! Before you start the build though let’s think for a second. Wouldn’t the billet k series be a better idea for the civic and the 2j in the NSX? The front on the nsx is pretty big and you can do a wild front mount turbo. The nsx would look more like a pro mod with the longer wheel base. Regardless to what you do man im pumped. Love you guys and keep up the amazing work. Boosted boy for life!!!!
Props to Kyle being adult about knowing a 4cyl isn't perfect for a drag&drive. The hatch did very well but to go any faster would be on the wire of breaking. I can't wait to see this 2j Civic come to life

4k in a Vtec head was about avg for cams springs and retainers. Only to reach 200hp and about same in torque.
