- We take a late afternoon virtual walking treadmill tour of Kentucky's 2nd biggest city and home to University of Kentucky. There's a lot of history here and a lot of neat old buildings.
Virtual tours of cities are a lot of fun to make and I appreciate your comments and feedback. Keep on steppin' -H

Lexington is drop dead gorgeous.
Thanks so much. It really is a cool mix of old and modern. -H
I’m moving to Lexington in May and can’t wait! I’m originally from Nashville, but moved to Cincinnati in 2015 liked it here too, but I’ve always been a Kentucky Wildcats fan. I’ve always loved going to Lexington so I figure why not make it home so I am!
Best of luck out there move. Seems like a great town. -H
so fresh so clean
It’s a nice city indeed. Thanks for commenting. -H
So much beauty comes alive in these walking videos. It's like experiencing the city's charm from my living room. I am a fan now.
Welcome and thanks so much. -H
Lol wasn't expecting to see my hometown pop up like this. Outside of college basketball, we don't come up in many conversations 😆
Hi Patrick, it’s a nice sedate town on the weekend. I enjoyed it very much. -H
Thanks for visiting our little town. It is unfortunate that you didn't have a local with you to point out some of the downtown features we are proud of. You really missed a great place to visit, 21 C Hotel (where you noticed the twisted street lamps. They are very inviting to visitors and have a very interesting art collection available to the public.
I really did enjoy exploring downtown Lexington. I too, would have liked to have had some local knowledge there. I was a bit envious walking past the guided walking tour. Perhaps I can line something up next time I’m there. Thanks so much for watching and for commenting. All the best. - H.
Wow, Lexington's downtown is stunning! The mix of historic and modern buildings is captivating. Great job capturing the essence of this vibrant city! 👍🏼🏙️
Glad you enjoyed it! -H

1966 and 1967 ,68 in lived in Lexington, there was always lots of things to do and the people were so nice and friendly!! Wish I lived there now! Great City!!!❤
Very cool! I really enjoyed our short visit there. -H

Love walking around downtown Lexington lot to see ..nice city
Thanks so much. It was a wonderful quiet afternoon. Such a charming downtown area. All the best and keep on stepping. - H.
Beautiful place
It really is! Thanks for watching. -H
Very pleasant walk! I will be in Kentucky next month! Love your casual comments!
Thanks so much Rose. I hope you have a great trip. -H
I think the way those beautiful white clouds reflect off of those buildings with the all glass windows is really neat.
Thanks Heather. It was a beautiful day and there is something to be said for those big glass buildings. Thanks for watching and commenting. -H
Lexington KY is really a big city here and a lot of
big skyscraper buildings as well as both old and
new buildings but this is a great walk here seeing
the main city business section of Lexington but
Thank You for another great video tour.

Thanks Roger. -H

You missed the Mary TOdd Lincoln house. IT was next to Rupp arena. Across from the old Court House was the 21C Hotel which has a museum in it and a cafe quite stunning inside. The 1920 style building high rise at the 20min mark in the video. Has the 2 blue penguins on the top of the main street entrance awning. I dont think you saw them. Hope you come again for a visit.
Thanks for those insights. For some reason I thought the Marry Todd Lincoln house was further out. I always appreciate these types of comments though. I look forward to filming again at some point. -H
@@CityWalks Wow. You are really going to kick yourself. When you went through the Baptist Church parking lot and stepped down to Main St as a short cut? Look at 43:42 footage. The brick house with the two chimney stacks across the street is The Mary Todd Lincoln House. Still a wonderful video though. Thanks
Fun! Enjoyed this so much! Looking forward to another one from you! Thanks!
Thanks so much. -H
Thank you so much, beutiful Walk❤❤❤❤❤❤
You are absolutely welcome. I'm glad you enjoyed it. -H
Wonderful day for a walk in such a beautiful place ...awesome tour 👍👍👍
Yes, thank you -H
I love your walks in cities Henry! I get ideas of places to visit and a good workout. You are awesome! Thanks.
Hi Marilynn, Thanks so much for that wonderful comment. I'm so glad you enjoy them. -H
I love the contrast between the historical parts of the city and the new modern parts.
I agree. It's nicely done and a great contrast. -H
So lovely 😍🌹 beautiful
Thank you so much 😊 -H
Great walk!
Thanks so much -H
Thoroughly enjoyed your walk, Henry. Always a pleasure to hear your voice. 👍Best wishes from northern England. 🙂
Hi Alison, thanks so much. Good to see your comments as always. Cheers. - H.
Just discovered your channel, great stuff! I live in downtown Lexington so it’s kind of funny watching this while I’m on the treadmill lol. But since it’s winter, this video is definitely the next best thing lol. Look forward to checking out all your other walks!
Welcome aboard! So glad you found us. You can search the CZcams channel or go to the website citywalksvirtualtours.com where the walks are searchable by location and walk time. All the best and keep on steppin' -H
Great video, Henry! The quality is very clear, and it's crazy how far you can see ahead in portions of these videos. Lexington is a lot cleaner than I expected.
My son and I enjoyed the walk! An aspect of your walks that we often get a kick out of is when you mention something right after my son and I were chatting about it or you start talking about something right when we are. Ha, and it isn't the obvious stuff either. 😁 Hard to explain here in text, but needless to say, it is cool...it's like we are all literally walking together and chatting.
I wanted to let you know that I am off of all medications now and have lost 17 pounds, and my son has lost 25 (since March, 6 months). Thanks to City Walks and, of course, clean eating! 🤜🏼🤛🏼
Thanks, Henry!

Yes, it’s funny how mines can get in sync. I’m glad you guys are enjoying these, but I’m even more glad that they are helping you get healthier. So glad to hear about getting off the medications and the weight loss. It’s certainly a journey and, it takes a lot of work. Well done and I’m really impressed by that. Glad to be part of your journey. - H.
🙏Thank you
I’ve heard that place Proof is pretty cool.
👍👍
It was a good place when I lived there.
Seems like a cool place now too. -H
Lexington has some good pool halls.
Interesting. I haven’t been to a pool hall in decades. -H
37:49 You should have went up one more block to 3rd Street!! One of my favorite streets in Lex! Plus you would have stubbled upon Hampton Court 💟
Also very surprised the church at 44:10 didn’t get any attention lol
Thanks Jesse. I’ll try to check those out next time I swing through. -H
I used to work at Rupp Arena as Maintenance Manager.
Very cool. Thanks for your comments. Cheers. -H
Great work Henry. Correct me if I am wrong but your US cities seem to be very clean and tidy compared to the Uk. Obviously there will be exceptions
Interesting observation. I wouldn’t normally think so actually. Perhaps because I focus on the downtown areas that tend to be kept a little bit cleaner? Also, perhaps because many US cities are less dense and people spend more time in their cars, there’s less potential for litter. Interesting perspective from another country though. Thanks so much. - H.
That church toward the end of the video looks a lot like The old First Baptist Church in Eugene, Oregon. Almost to a t. Probably not enough restrooms for all the ladies after church on Sunday or maybe a gym in the basement hahaha
I was referring to the red brick church with the big white columns in the front and whatever that white triangle thing is on top jajajaj
Interesting. Maybe one or the other recycled a building plan. I know there are two identical buildings in Omaha and Kansas City (omaha national bank building and New York Life Building). Cheers. -H
@@CityWalks that’s what I’m thinking. And that church is now called The Shedd or something like that. It was bought by some music group but they have to keep the First Baptist Church sign up on the front. I think the church still owns the building but built a bigger church. Thst one was built right at the beginning of the Great Depression. Also you mentioned some Carnegie buildings. I think that family funded a lot of public buildings all over the country try . Lots of libraries with similar construction and grassy lawn layouts to make them people friendky
@@heathersheartco Nice. Yes we have a Carnegie Library in Livingston. There’s one over in Dillon too. -H
Nice clean town! Considering its size it seems kind of lacking in both pedestrians and cars. Which day and time was this taped?
This was on a weekend afternoon, a Saturday, I think. I have to imagine it would be a fair bit busier during the week but it was still very clean and inviting. -H
In Lexington, Ky. it's illegal to carry an ice cream cone in your back pocket.
That’s awesome! -H
How are you ☺️
Doing well thanks. Hope you are as well. -H
So if you live down town, where would you go on a run?
That’s a great question. The downtown area fades to residential pretty quickly. Perhaps someone else can chip in with some info. My buddy lives near downtown and he’s a runner. -H
You just haven't been to the bad parts .
Hi there and thank you for the comment. That is true, but of course I haven’t been to the bad parts of Paris or London or Rome, either but still an enjoyable and beautiful city. To each their own though. All the best and keep on stepping. - H.
Lexington may not have the biggest/flashiest downtown. But it sure is sexy! 😛
#sexylexi
Thanks Jesse.
Why it is empty
It was a Sunday afternoon in the main business district. -H
Stores close and people go to church on sundays
Hi, any option to contact? Email ID?

These walks are ruined by the constant chatter of the walker filming. The channel Tyler walks is MUCH better because he doesn't talk. It's better because I don't have to mute it and I get the sights AND sounds of the location in the city where Tyler is walking.
Hi Gail, I complete appreciate how these might not be what you like but it’s sort of the niche I have chosen. When I’ve gone silent most of the comments are from loyal viewers asking that I bring it back. I suggest you stick with Tyler as that’s not what I really do here. Thanks for giving us a try though. -H
I disagree. I love the talking and the silent ones are boring
Where is the people ?
It’s a weekend afternoon so they aren’t downtown. -H
