  • đŸ‘‹đŸ» Hey guys! In this video I show you why the iPad Pro + iPadOS is PERFECT for students. The iPad Pro is simply the best investment I've ever made as it is perfect for taking notes in college.
    📝The Best iPad Screen Protector - Paperlike 2: paper.me/km1 1: paper.me/KM1
iPad Pro note taking is simply the best way to learn your material and get things done! iPad OS / iPad OS13 brings many new features to the iPad Pro 2018 / iPad Pro 2019 / iPad 12.9 / iPad Air which are incredibly useful for college students especially with notability or goodnotes 5. I love it, it's amazing, and I hope you do too. Enjoy!

Hi! I use my ipad to draw (digital stickers, concepts, mind map, comic), and in the note taking area i use GoodNotes amd Noteability to take notes, write down ideas, and study. I also use my ipad to create digital bullet journal, modern calligraphy, but also to watch Netflix and youtube, listen to audiobooks, and read books.
Intentionally, both in my ipad 6th generation and my ipad pro 2018, i don’t have twitter and facebook for a reason which I am sure you can guess

here are my tips for those who want these benefits but cant afford an ipad:
    - take a picture of your handwritten notes and upload them to your computer/laptop. also use a backup app like he's doing. then you can access them anywhere, never lose them, and (im guessing) still use the ctrl + F feature to search for any keyword. this also rids the problem of having to carry around binders. it might be a hassle to some to upload all the notes but if you cant afford an ipad (like me hehe) its a great idea. i dont find it to be too much of a hassle tho. there are many different methods of organization tho, so look at all them and find whichever one is best for you.
    - for organization, you would have to use the old way of using dividers or sticky notes that stick out the side of your notebook with a title to divide everything into folders and such. which i personally dont see as that much of a problem.
    - for editing handwritten notes, first of all you can edit them if you upload them to your computer, and secondly, you can use sticky notes and/or white out to replace or add information. not as convenient, but still works. also, you would understand the content much more if you actually draw the diagram by hand that the teacher has on their powerpoint or wherever, instead of copying and pasting it on to your notes.
    - this is probably personal preference, but i love buying individual pens and highlighters in different colors to use for notes, theyre more satisfying, and much cheaper than a $100 apple pencil (tho the pencil is still helpful!) even with the apple pencil on digital notetaking, depending on the app you use, you'd probably have to buy some different colors and textures and such.
    - since most people buy laptops specifically for college, i really recommend buying a 2-in-1 laptop (that means touchscreen and able to flip over and act exactly like a tablet, but just with your computer. plus you could buy a much cheaper stylus for this and still have it work) or a detachable laptop (the screen comes off and basically becomes a tablet, you can move your keyboard out of the way, take notes just like on an ipad if you want, etc. look into microsoft surface for a good detachable laptop) this is just one device where you have everything as compared to laptop/monitor and an entire ipad for notes/apps. not to mention buying accessories like the stylus and keyboard.
    - for the two screen thing, i just use split screen. for pc, right click on your task bar and click show windows side by side. for me, my computer doesnt show them side by side perfectly, so i adjust the windows myself until theyre both the same size. then i can write my notes and research at the same time, view powerpoint, etc. though with this, for those who prefer a bigger screen and smaller screen (i personally dont) you would have to compromise.
    - when youre attending a lecture and the teacher is talking pretty fast, (for me way too fast for me to take any handwritten notes), its best to quickly type the important information that they want you to understand, and then when you go home take actual handwritten notes with the important info (or you can use two notebooks, one for taking handwritten notes during the lecture and one for when youre home. this way you can also make your notes pretty at home if you want.) i personally primarily use this method for notetaking anyway. it works really well.
    - for the apps, use your phone, or if you want a bigger screen, most of them have versions you can use on your laptop.
    - you can upload photos of handouts on to your laptop as well.
i think the best tip is that you can upload photos of your handwritten notes and put them on a digital backup service thing and not have to worry! i really hope this helps!! :))

I no longer have 6 notebooks for all of my different classes, and all of my teachers are actually fine with me using my iPad as a note-taking device (much to my surprise), and it has helped me better in the classroom in terms of organization and preparedness. Also, It helps because I can share my notes with my teachers when I am remotely learning.

I was an artist who noticed almost all of my college classmates had an iPad so I decided to invest in one too on the basis that I would use it for note writing and occasional drawing with procreate. ABSOLUTE game changer. I have a main desktop I use for my job (animation isn’t so easy on the iPad) but for general illustration work, I love the iPad. And it also replaced my laptop pretty much. I always have the iPad on the side watching videos or something. As for note taking, I take a lot of notes and have gone paperless! I love it.

If I'm still a student, I would also buy this if I can. Typing on laptop is useless on actual classes, note taking is still the thing and yeah, I'm really scrappy taking notes lol. I was amazed with this! You can control f and you can still edit your notes after. I just bought my mac air 2020 for wfh purposes but this is amazing! I might consider buying my college nieces this one.

@Silvarin Farendor True, but if you pay close attention to some of these people, they say that they "can't afford" something, but go out very often and spend money on things when you can do them yourself instead and save TONS of money (e.g. cooking every day instead of eating out, making coffee yourself every day instead of going to a coffee shop, buying books when you can get most of them for free on PDF, buying clothes all the time when 2 pairs of jeans, 1-2 pairs of shoes, and 7 shirts can get you throughout most of your school years (unless REALLY REALLY needed), paying a lot for phone contract just to spend time on Facebook and WhatsApp and not use it productively, buying snacks whenever you're hungry instead of buying in bulk and preparing them yourself). There's tons of ways to save money while being a student. In my case, I used to spend a lot of money on coffee (for me and my peers). Since the pandemic started here back in February, I've saved over $400. Most of my current budget (< $700) goes into rent/food nowadays, since I'm cooking way more during this (only eaten out 3-4 times since then). I've saved a little over $1000 just by buying food in bulk and cooking every day. Haven't spent a dime on clothes when all of it is still in good shape. Can also save money by using your campus' internet/library services, buying a refillable water bottle, picking up pocket change from the floor, regardless of how small in value it is (I made around $100 just on that during my undergrad), among others. If you're on scholarship and/or student loans, focus that stipend money on things you need to live (mainly food, rent, and anything else that'll boost your productivity and contribute to your mental and emotional stability). If you're working part/full time, save some money, even if it's $1. I'm not from an 'abled' or rich family, and have had to make serious adjustments to be able to save money. I was able to get the cheapest iPad (7th gen) with the Apple Pencil, and I don't regret it at all. I don't spend money on markers, highlighters, pens, paper, etc., anymore (and I used to write/print A LOT). It is doable, and you don't need to be rich to afford it. It's more of a small investment in your future.

@Silvarin Farendor Find work on the side. Clean houses, do yard work, go do "house-sitting", babysit, wash cars, pet-sitting, summer jobs, paid internships (if lucky). And when it comes to taking notes over the lecture slides I think iPad will be much better, especially now that with the notability app you can record the lecturer’s voice over your notes and go back and listen to that part of your lesson while revising 📝 I think it depends on your priorities, for me it is taking notes easily and being able to carry my notes with me everywhere so I’m switching from laptop to iPad

Literally I can use it for all my classes. And if I think I missed something they said I can play back the audio recording of the class and basically relive the class again lol. It’s the best investment everrrrr! I only have the 2018 I pad with the first gen Apple Pencil but that’s all I need and I think it’s sturdy for carrying around in your bag. Take a shot every time Nassir says "Literally".
On a serious note, my 2016 iPad Pro 1st gen was a key component in acing my upper division engineering courses. Mainly, not having to carry loads of books, notebooks, and other papers improved my efficiency in studying. Also, I used it to record audio lectures which I would use to reference in case I had any questions during a late night at the library.
My 2016 iPad Pro is still going very strong in 2021, now as Master's student and yes.....for the occasional Netflix. Just wish this came out in 2014 when I was a freshman.
Pair this with a Planner, the Apple Pencil, and you're good to go until you graduate.

Great explanation, I used notability since 2017 when I forgot to print the lecture notes. I decided to download the lecture notes then add my notes or even record the lecture. Still, I like to have organised files and paper notes, so I tend to print out my lecture notes and keep them in files. I always have a fear of losing my notes even when they are saved in OneDrive or iCloud Drive.
Also, the more I use my handwriting to rephrase my understanding or to keep some notes, the more the info is kept in my brain and improving my knowledge.
Still, I see lecture notes on notability is much more useful than the traditional way as you can record the lecture while you are writing the notes on it. This is a handy way for me as a dyslexic and non-native English speaking PG student.

I wanted the iPad Pro at the beginning for art. Since I love to draw it seemed like an awesome device to have in my daily life. When I became a med student I started taking it to class. All of the professors at my uni use power points to teach the material and if you wanted to follow the lectures effectively you needed to print them out.
I on the other hand never have to worry about printing them on time and schedule ahead. I just put the device in my backpack and was ready to go. It was also a lot handier than using a laptop because we had to draw a lot to visualise things, something that the students with a laptop have trouble with.
When a chapter was done I could just print the powerpoints with my notes at home and study further from there, but never had to drag around huge binders.
I have also never been a neat person with my notes, especially because of my handwriting and the fact that I can undo saved my life and i can study more effectively as well.
I honestly highly recommend this device with the Good notes app to any university student out there.

Yeah, I've never understood iPad recommendations for students. The OS is too simplistic for real work. A Surface pro or something like a HP Envy x360 is the way to go. Using OneNote you can easily open/view/edit your notes from your phone (Android or iOS) too. Students like trendy stuff though, so an iPad it is, despite the limitations.

I have always been taking hand written notes (and occasionally in Excel) . I have completed my CA, CS(Company Secretary), ACCA and CMA (US) and currently pursuing CPA(US) and I still take handwritten notes. Agreed that there are few shortcomings, but I use 4 colour pens (Blue for regular, Black for Section Numbers/important thing, red for numericals and green for Form numbers and really important stuff. I have them indexed and I follow a sequence.
The one major advantage of handwritten notes is that you have to ensure that you are absolutely sure of what you are writing, in what sequence and how you are writing because it can never be undone. This ensures that more effort is put into what you write, which is nothing but a studying process. Before I pen down something, ,I ensure that it is absolutely correct. However, in case of an ipad , you have the luxury of adding pages, erasing and resizing.
And in my line of studies/work, ipad would involve too much scrolling (and that's why I prefer excel)

Engineers mostly had surface pro’s BBC’s while you could take notes you could run some software like MATLAB and Cadence for electronics and quick maths. So if you’re only looking at taking notes go for the iPad Pro but if you also have to run stuff like MATLAB or even some IDE I would choose the surface pro since it has full windows.
