Sometimes in life one just has to sit down, open a beer, and watch Ann-Margret dance.
oh yea you are so right
Nature was very good to that girl.
Fantasize on her , she was on hot woman for her time . Those Tarts just sets the imagination reeling for a romp with her .
I ready for my day!
th0se sh0tguns sure can shake l0l
Can't help thinking about Kristin Wiig and her "Ann Margaret tries to throw a piece of paper away into a trash can" sketch :-)
I gotta find that some place.

Have you ever seen Kitten with a Whip? Her high point
@@mariedewitt5033 No, but just watched the trailer. Got to see it! For a minute there I though I was watching evidence from the Depp/Heard trial.
I just saw that sketch for the first time yesterday and so tonight decided to look up Anne Margaret dancing 😆lol
Ann Margret was an absolute beast of a woman!
What a bombshell...
Sexiest Woman EVER!!
Still is.
Your word "was" needs to be changed to "is"
@@scottwinar858 You are correct

One of the worlds most beautiful.
Not only a babe, but an absolute angel when she visited with Bob Hope in Viet Nam in 1968.
Many years ago, my pre-teen self stumbled on a circa 1964 Ann-Margret movie late one night while channel surfing. It was a revelation. She gave me tingles in places I didn't even know I had and may have been single-handedly responsible for sending me into puberty.
'single-handedly' hahaha! Those black tights! They had a front panel but none in back.
those were the days my friend.
I'm the opposite. I literally only saw The Swinger a few years ago and only knew Ann Margret as the old lady characters she played in the last 20 years. Holy crap did I miss out. I remember telling my older cousin who's in his 60's now about how me and my friend had discovered Viva Las Vegas, Bye Bye Birdie, The Swinger, etc and he chuckled and said "Better late than never"
She has the power!
Well said
You had lots of company my friend. Ann-Margaret did that to a whole generation of American males, males of all ages.
uh I'm speechless. She is exceptional.
Wow no wonder Fred Flintstone loved her so much?!? I was a child and that was how I first heard her name on a cartoon. I had no idea until now what a powerhouse she was. Mad respect to Ann Margaret.
I was born in 1979. I never understood why Anne margaret was so famous. Now, I get it!!! Thank you technology.
awesome!!
Keep that in mind when you meet any older person.
It's hard to realize what they were like in their prime.
I'm 15 years older and i didn't understand either. I guess i just missed her heyday
The dance clips here are from three movies:
Bye Bye Birdie
Viva Las Vegas
The Swinger
Note that all three of these films were directed by George Sidney who loved to showcase Ann-Margret's beauty & dance skills...
Thanks from all of us Ann-Margret fans! 🍀
You're very welcome!!
Thanks, because, you know she always dances the same and she wears exactly the same thing, and you can't tell from her rhythm because it's always exactly the same. I mean, that makes it super difficult to distinguish one movie from the other, right?
@@AndyCutright Except that this video proves you 100% wrong! She’s not wearing the exact same thing, and you’e ignoring the tempo/beat/rhythm of the individual songs.
It’s hilariously revealing that you feel a need to bitch about something you’re entirely ignorant about. Good job!!
@@AndyCutrightHaving learnt dancing professionally, I have to completely disagree. Each movie was a different routine, and it was a mixture of different dance styles throughout. Don't ask me to name them, I'm too old to remember, but you can bet she was able to tap dance, waltz, cha cha, salsa as well, back in the day you had to have talent in many different styles, or you were unlikely to find employment.
George Sidney actually had a thing for Anne Margaret to the point he would give her better camera angles and close ups on the set of "Viva Las Vegas" than Elvis causing all kinds of problems.
I lived five miles from where she used to live (she's twenty years older than me), and my mother taught yoga just down the street from where Ann-Margret's mother was a funeral home receptionist. She spent all but her first year living under Nazi occupation and rule in her native Sweden (they invaded on my birthday, nineteen years earlier). She came up from virtually nothing other than the grit and determination she was born with. She really is the "It Girl" for all the right reasons.
Sweeden was not invaded.
@@jamesb8573 Yes, Denmark and NORWAY, not Sweden. Thanks for reminding me. My once-exceptional memory has been fading in my later years.
Yeah, Sweden got a pass from the Nazi’s because they happily supplied Hitler’s war machine.
Ann Margret - just wow. An incredible musical talent and the sexiest dancer of all time IMHO.
(Kind of impossible NOT to be when the only clothing her characters are given to wear are tight sweaters & leggings)….
@@Shineon83 - that is a fair point. But she did have legit great dancing skills.
@@timd7782 "and the sexiest dancer" incel please................
@@michajanicki6860 - I had to look up what an “incel” is. I didn’t come here to be made sport of!😁 I am 58, two kids, married for 33 years, I am not a misogynist, thank you very much. Calling Ann Margret sexy is not an insult nor does it make me an “incel”.
@@timd7782 People who call others incel are the actual incels. Michajaknoff has probably never touched a woman in his life. Even his mother is disgusted with him.
God almighty, so talented and one of the beautiful entertainers of all time!!
That lady was why the word sexy was invented!
Ann-Margaret was an absolute unit 😍
I wake up every morning feeling exactly this happy and beautiful. Then someone talks to me and my whole day is ruined.
You must quit cocaine
At least you have that long. Not here.
😂
This re-edit was SENSATIONAL. And I finally understand the vibe of Ann-Margaret's dancing from this arrangement.
Which actually means you are too weak for reality.
she’s an amazing dancer! she moves so intricately yet so natural. i wonder how long she had to train for
I I'm going to say the natural talent in her enjoyed training over and over again however she didn't put much focus on sharpness from my opinion all of the time because her lines were more diagonal on the uprights than perpendicular in right angles to the floor she's a little off balance at times but I think that's her gusto getting the best of her and her enjoying life with this gift that she found within herself I wonder if her and James Brown ever danced together
She is a natural. Great rhythm. You feel it.
@@stoweandy7059 What an eye you have! I love reading comments from people who know dance. All I see is her natural exuberance & wonderful moves to the beat
She didn’t have any training. She just did it. Extremely impressive.
@@stoweandy7059 maybe in Heaven ....
Quite possibly one of the coolest chick's ever! Besties with Tina Turner and a great performer!
Why am I only now seeing this?! I always loved Ann-Margret and 'Shot Gun' is one of my favorite songs, and you, sir, did both tremendous credit! Thank you!!
awesome isnt she

I was in love with her when i was 7 years old. I saw her on french magazine : Ciné Revue. She was wearing black leather suit on Harley Davidson. The most beautiful woman of the sixties in America...
Ann MARocks! After seeing her on The Flintstones in 1966 and a Elvis movie Viva Las Vegas around that time.
I'm a major fan here for the long haul.
Jr.Walker and the All Stars were " out of sight" !

And all that done in stiletto heels.
I do not think it is that she is a pro so much as she is a natural -- she brings a spontaneous joy to her dancing. Wonderful stuff.
@@daysjours Did you know that it takes a dedicated professional years of practice to make it look that easy?
The time when people were really good at their craft, absolutely nothing second rate back then, and Ann Margret, Yes most definitely!
Nothing wrong with dancers today. There's a lot less dancing today in movies, but check out the theater. But I admit that Ann-Margret was on a totally different level.
Please stop the hyperbole. There are tons of people who are excellent at their craft right now. You do know you can praise someone without the need to denigrate others. People really love to overly beholden to things of the past. Ann Margret is great - appreciate her but do it with some grace.
Rosy Introspection Bias is real. The present doesn't even have a chance.
As aging adults, it is far easier to escape into our imperfect and cherry-picked memories and scapegoat our current frustrations on the unfamiliar and the young.
There is no escaping it as we age. We must deliberately combat this bias.
It tends to make us more depressed than happy - and too ungrateful for the beauty and the good around us in the present.
Young person reading this ☝️, as with most things in life, you _won't_ be an exception automatically. You must work on this throughout your entire adulthood. It's just how human memory and emotion work.
@@eddiek8179 Nobody today comes even close to her talent, personality and energy. Nobody.
Always loves "Shot Gun." Love the arrangement, listen to the organ. Brings back memories of Army service in the 60's. Ann Margaret, phew, talented and beautiful right up here with Rita Hayworth, best ever.
How does she manage to do all that and still gather an in-depth synopsis of the book she's reading at the same time!
She invented multitasking.

I have a lot of love and respect for Ann-margaret. What an awesome and amazing talent.
That girl could dance. She was beautiful and very talented.

So Mr Wallace I assume maybe you saw live albeit maybe on television or possibly in person performances of hers in your lifetime? I wonder did her and James Brown ever match up and let those dicing pivoting feet cut a rug or should I say shred it
Nothing beats the choreography for bye bye birdie
Breathtaking...Thank You Ann !
Just love Ann-Margret. So beautiful, so talented, such presence!
The hair, the smile, the MOVES. 💯
One of the greatest songs of all time, IMO. There's no good video of this song. I got to see Jr. Walker live in South Bend, IN not long before he died. I was able to shake his hand and thank him for his music.
Ann-Margret is just a bonus. She was to movies what Jr. was to music. Simply amazing.
Greatest songs? lol You must be joking...the lyrics are as idiotic and ridiculous as lyrics come. This song's merit is its R&B rhythm and Walker's sax blowing. We had this 45rpm as kids when it came out and we wore it out on the phonograph. Makes sense, being that the lyrics are at the grammar school level. Plenty of idiotic nonsense songs over the years became top hits or million sellers...this is one that is solidly on that list.
I loved just about everything that came out of Motown, "Shotgun" included. The backup band for most of the singing groups, the Funk Brothers, was awesome. My favorite is probably "Rock Steady" by Aretha. Listen to the drum part of that song. Incredible!
@@waldolydecker8118 The lyrics aren't the point.
Source: Bob Dylan's Theme Time Radio.
Jr. Walker sang Shotgun because the man who was supposed to show up didn't and Walker didn't want to waste the studio time which was pricey.
@@waldolydecker8118 As one who loves good lyrics, and is therefore a fan of people like Joni, The Beatles, the Stones, and most of all Paul Simon, I also can appreciate music that just makes you want to dance, or is mysterious (like many Spanish Guitar pieces), etc. Not all music is about lyrics. (BTW, I think Dylan is way overrated. Doesn't even come close to Joni or Simon. )
She is so beautiful.
Fantastic video! Never knew Ann Margaret was so beautiful. ❤
GIRL CAN MOVE! FABULOUS ANN! Fantastic!!!🔥🔥🔥
This is a show I would watch. Let's get it on the Fall schedule.
Poetry in motion, to great music.
Ann Margret doing James Brown moves with heels on!!!
All that and she rides motorcycles, too. What a beauty!
Complex choreography, and even more amazing that it was all shot on film and so everything had to be right.
And yes, the Kristen Wiig sketch was hilarious 😆
Couldn't agree more.
Lol!!😅 I love the the wind that just conviently blows only in her hair.
It is a fantastic choreographic effect -- taking advantage of every moving part of this magnificent young woman.
She was awesome on the Flintstones
Ann Magret had such a free spirit ! Grace, charm and humility such a wonderful lady ! Great dancer , actress, singer ! Love her ! ✨🌠✨
Nice rack, too!
She is still with us THANK GOD...Obviously father time stops for no one but WOW....Not only was she beyond georgeous, sexy and talented she was also extremely intelligent... Off stage she was almost shy...NEVER HEARD A NEGATIVE THING ABOUT HER...SHE WAS MARRIED TO THE SAME MAN FOR 50+ YEARS...Her heart was broken when her real love...and to be honest from what has been reported and confirmed being said...The King, Elvis and Ann-Margret had a fling...Elvis was absolutely awe-struck by her...she was the only entertainer who could keep up with Elvis in a live performance...He called her his Soul Mate...Crushed her when he remained loyal to Priscilla and didn't follow his heart....seems to have all worked out...She was almost killed in 1972 during the opening sequence of a stage performance when a plaform she was supposed to be lowered to the stage...instead of making her grand entrance from the sides or back...they thought lowering her down would shock everyone...and they were right...an error was made securing the safety lines and as the audience watched her beginning to be lowered the support cables holding one corner of the platform snapped causing her to fall nearly face first from ~25ft...numerous broken bones...facial fractures, broken jaw...mouth wired shut...ribs and hip broke..wasn't sure if she would ever dance again...and she was in a COMA for 3 days...Shocking everyone the firecracker was back on stage about 4 months later....IMO, one of the most naturally, God Given gorgeous women to have existed...
Good lord. She is almost to much. WHAT a babe! 😻😻😻

The continuity in this was diabolical. When Ann Margaret comes through the first door she is carrying a large white item (not sure what it is), that she never had before. Never noticed it before because I was distracted...

Wow! Excellent compilation and sequencing. She's so underrated. Wow!!!
In a hundred years time straight men will be thinking the same thing about this fabulous lady as they do today,
1A and 1B ... Ann and Raquel Welch.
Let me put it this way, didnt need a playboy mag in the late 70's ... Sir Spank-A-Lot was around when these ladies were on screen.
Dick Van Dyke said he knew his role in Bye Bye Birdie was going to shrink, when he showed up on the first day of shooting and Ann-Mararock was sitting in the lap of the director.
Young people think they invented moves. LOL To quote the Highlander, " There can be only one"! Ann Margret.
Ann was injured severely in 1972 on stage in Tahoe. The hospital called her husband (Actor- Roger Smith) who came quickly. They said they could not save her, so her husband checked her out and took her to the airport. He stole a small plane and flew her to LA. A waiting ambulance took her to Cedar Sinai Hospital where they saved her. Now THAT is true love.
Fake news.
Yeah, that’s not how the story goes..she wasn’t dying (although badly injured) and he wanted to take her to different doctors/hospital due to her needing extensive facial reconstruction surgery from the injuries. I’m skeptical about the stealing of the plane story.
@@blueberrycobbler That was the story told on a late night talk show.
I remember when that happened, she had to face months of wearing pins in her jaw and face. I think that she did marry the right man, Roger Smith was smoking hot in his own style. I used to watch him in "77 Sunset Strip" I don't think a marriage to Elvis would have lasted. Priscilla was a beauty in her own way.
VIVA ANN-MARGRET!!!
Ah, the 60's...
Started my love affair with ankle pants, ballet flats, and kitten heels...
A classic ensemble to this very day!
Fantastic!!!!
She is having such a good time it makes me uncomfortable. Are people allowed to be that happy?
It's such. Cool, 1960's shit, it's embarrassment, of riches.
Is that a rhetorical question? Because that's such an abnormal thing to ask.
Dont think there there a law to say you cant?.....
Practically impossible in todays miserable society
then WE ALL WERE HAPPY no Godless media to stir up hate.
She was just slightly before my time… I remember her on Carson etc. But never realized what a great dancer she was!
