    Thank you for this video. It felt so realistic. I always think my projects are going wrong when the iron doesn’t quite stick right at first. Love the tip to use iron on as a stencil as well. ❤️

    Taping off the rest and using spray paint like “flex seal” is quite long lasting. And IKEA has great prices on rugs like these.

    • @ElementalDivinity
      @ElementalDivinity Před 2 lety +1

      Flex seal might eat through the iron on. I'm wondering since acrylic paint is water based, and if it's an out door mat, it probably needs a top coat?

    • @Cricut
      @Cricut  Před 2 lety +2

      You should be able to! It might take a bit of pressure for an every day iron to get it to stick to a coil doormat, but heatwise you should be able to get it!

    Looks great! I have questions- 1) Is something applied over the paint to prevent it from fading or coming off when people wipe their feet off? 2) can infusible ink be used on a project like this?

    • @Cricut
      @Cricut  Před 2 lety +2

      Great questions! You totally could do a clear sealant. FlexSeal is pretty strong and we don't think it NEEDS it. Infusible ink needs to be applied to a majorly polyester blank for it to apply well. It wont show up probably at all on a doormat!

    wouldn't it be easier to use cardstock and use that as a stencil?

    • @Cricut
      @Cricut  Před 2 lety +2

      Using cardstock might give you some paint or lines that seep through since it doesn't have a TIGHT adhesive barrier with the mat. You might not get as crips of lines/edges.

    • @Cricut
      @Cricut  Před 2 lety +3

      I guess it depends on how you look at it! If you use vinyl as your stencil, you have to have vinyl and transfer tape and the results don't always turn out super crisp. That's also a lot of material wasted. Balancing time spent plus material cost is always hard! For sure do what works best for you.
