Thank you for sharing how this is done. I'm a first time PC builder and used "new" old stock LGA 1150 MB in original box I got for very cheap (in case I screwed things up) and had trepidation on updating the bios.

Do you also have the desktop plugged into the UPS when updating BIOS incase of unexpected power cut
Last time I lost power was 4 years ago. A UPS battery would have to be replaced every four years. Why would I spend money to buy something I don't need only to have to replace its battery, costing me more money and more time when I don't live in an area that suffers power outages?
