A lot of changes in the world inside and outside Thin Lizzy, reflected in this, out-and-out, pop tune. The inclusion of Midge Ure as temporary tourer and songwriter also having an impact on the outlook of the band. Black Rose (Roisin Dubh) had the eclectic feel of an almost new band with the return of Gary Moore, the scintillating title track said, here is our tradition and the like of “Sarah” said this our heart, and a chunk of our soul. As the trimmed down style shows, the combination of late 70’s influences meant that the chest-baring was being handed down to new, metal bands and these seasoned rockers had new pastures to explore. “Got to give it up” would be an unwelcome epitaph for King Phil and this single from the same album shows rather wordy, deserved rebelliousness for a Thatcherite Britain.
The BEST HARMONY GUITAR BAND EVER!! Melodic songs, great melodies. I miss them so much.
This is just Sooooooo Good !
Phil & Gary ❤❤

The Black Rose. Great LP.
Oh neat, I don't think I'd seen Gary playing a Mockingbird before
Imagine if Gary Moore had stayed.... He and Gorham... Damn....
Nice album

Gawd, it's awful 😩
Nahhh... The intro is kinda weird but the tune is nice.
I agree, worst song on the album along with S&M.
What 😁 its absolutely brilliant, get your ears tested
All of lizzy is legend fullstop.
@@matthewlundy8713 A "bad" Thin Lizzy song, by their standards, still ends up a good song though. Even "S & M" has a certain funky vibe that I enjoy.
